Pear Tree Cottage Reviews

Absolutely fantastic stay at Pear Tree Cottage. We couldnt have picked a worse week to go down with all the rain, but the cottage had everything we needed to spend a couple of cosy nights in, relaxing when the weather was at its worst. Its very homely and clean, the decor is beautiful and is exactly as the pictures show. The garden provides plenty of space, my Doberman spent more time outside than she did in and the hot tub is just an added bonus. Would 100 recommend for a relaxing get away. Thank you so much Mark & Leeanne!

Lovely place to stay. Has everything you need and very secure for the dogs which is always the main thing we look for when we book somewhere. Very comfortable bed and sofa, which was welcome after our 5hr30 drive. No dodgy Cornwall lanes to get to the property! Just normal roads then a quick 15 seconds down a wellkept single road to the driveway. We drove out to the Seal Sanctuary, Newquay and Cardinham Woods all easy to reach from the property. When we didn't go out, was nice to stay in the property thanks to the hottub, large TV and comfy sofa.

Lovely private tucked away position behind owners home and other holiday cottage. Spacious drivrway parking. Garden was enclosed and well lit so great for the dog and we were able to watch the pheasants and partridges. The lawn did need cutting though more than a couple of weeks growth plus the areas on the lead up, which made it untidy and scruffy looking. Cleaning was ok, but needs a bit more precision. There were crumbs on the worktops when we arrived, and the previous holidaymakers had had a black dog, as could see fur in the corners and on skirting boards. I did use the hoover in the utility. In fairness to the owners i actually used it twice, and it was only then I completely got rid of them. We had my dog with us so I'm not anti pet, but it does need a bit more care on changeover.
WOW!!! Such a beautiful cottage. This is definitely one not to be missed. Just a short drive down the narrow lane off the busy Aroad, you will find this gorgeous little cottage. Mark and Leeanne have thought of everything. Everywhere was spotless. The sofa was cosy, the bed is super comfy and the hot tub was perfect
We enjoyed our week long stay at Pear Tree Cottage & celebrating my 29th birthday there. Its a beautiful place with an amazing garden which Bear loved! we had lovely little welcome gifts upon our arrival and Bear got some treats too! We loved the hot tub,the privacy & the peacefulness I would definitely recommend staying here if you can drive as it wasnt really walking distance to a shop etc which did prove difficult for us as we definitely wouldve liked to explore a bit more & at times felt a bit isolated. Mark & LeaAnne were very friendly and nothing was too much for them & they respected our privacy always messaged first before checking the hot tub. We did find ourselves running out of cutlery quite a bit, so it would be good to be better equipped in this case. And simply having a washing basket provided in the utility room would be really useful so that you dont have to carry wet clothes to the line like we did. Also the last few days of our stay there was a sewage smell in the garden but we also understood that being in the countryside you so get smells

Had a week's stay at Pear Tree Cottage. The setting is very peaceful and private! The owners Mark & Leanne are on hand if required but respect you privacy. The cottage is of a very high standard and has all you need for a great West Country holiday! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic holiday cottage, perfect stay for our honeymoon. Great hospitality and would highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect break. The cottage had everything we needed. Very clean with lots of thought put into the facilities. The bed was really comfy. The cottage was warm and loved having warm towels on the radiator. The additional utility room was useful. Garden furniture appreciated and the hot tub was perfect to wind down after a day out walking. The garden gets 5 stars from the dog. Very secure. Very private. Ideal location. We would definitely return.

Lovely secluded little cottage. We had a 3 night stay and were very happy to use this as our base for travelling around. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was an added benefit, especially after a day travelling. A welcome text before our arrival was a nice touch, as were the gifts. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this property.
Superb cottage, great hosts and extremely friendly. Best cottage we found so far. Thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely cottage dog friendly
Everything about this little cottage is beautiful. Having dog bowls and a couple of treats for the dogs and us left out for our arrival was a lovely touch. Only thing i would suggest is curtains or blinds on the glass doors.
Probably the best enclosed gardens for your dog we have had and a lovely hot tub to lye there and watch the stars at night great place for a couples week end or week in the countryside but only 10min drive from a pub or most of the big supermarkets well maintained by the owners would be happy to book again.
We had a wonderful stay at Pear Tree Cottage. Everything was comfortable, clean and tidy. We had all we needed for a relaxing home from home. We especially loved starting each day in the hot tub, it was fantastic! The dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay as well, with plenty of space to play fetch in the totally secure garden. The owners made us feel welcome and we felt able to contact them should we have needed to although we didnt and they were also respectful of our privacy and contacted us before coming to check the hot tub levels. Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a quiet break away.
Lovely warm and comfortable property. Everything supplied that you may need. Great enclosed garden for doggies and privacy, with lawn space and relaxing area and a hot tub. Easy to find and not too far from the main road into St Mellion. Definitely on my favourite list for visiting family in Cornwall

What a beautiful beautiful place to stay! I booked this for my partners 29th birthday & wow it exceeded all our expectations. I already knew it was going to be gorgeous from the pictures on the advertisement but its something else to see it in person. Everything on the listing is 100 accurate. I was shocked by how large the garden area was, our little pooch had the time of her life running around during the day with her ball. The hot tub is outstanding, perfect temperature ready for you to get straight in on arrival & maintains the heat really well throughout your stay Ive never been in this style of hot tub where it has a lay down style bed in there but WOW how relaxing, I couldve stayed in there all day. The facilities within the space has everything you could possibly need including more storage areas for food in the outbuilding which I think is so important especially if youre staying for a week & dont want clutter in the bedroom or living area. Everything worked perfectly, we had no issues with electricals, the oven & hob are very easy to use & the TV has apps available for you to watch your favourite filmsshows. The electric fire was beautiful & gives the perfect vibe for a rainy evening infront of the tv. Weve stayed in many places before & I always like to note the sleeping experience as I think this is so important. One thing Ill say is that was one of the most comfortable beds I have EVER slept in, the mattress was to die for! I even had to see what mattress it was to potentially purchase it

Mark and Leanne the owners of the cottage made us feel very welcomed and the cottage is beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. In a peaceful location, which was an added bonus when enjoying the hot tub and the secure garden gave us peace of mind as we had our little sausage dog Peanut with us. A lovely break away for our anniversary.

Pear Tree Cottage is the perfect place to spend a relaxing week, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that you can be in town quickly. The owners were friendly and helpful when required striking the perfect balance for when you just want some time to yourselves.

We had a fabulous 2 week stay at pear tree cottage. The cottage had everything you needed and quiet setting. The garden was totally secure for our 2 small dogs. The hosts Mark and LeeAnne where really friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble for them. If we visit cornwell again we will definitely stay at pear tree cottage.

We had a lovely stay at pear tree cottage everything you could ask for from a holiday destination. The accommodation was very clean and tidy on arrival also a small welcome pack which is always a nice touch.Overall a great place to stay ideally situated to explore the local area highly recommend.p.s otis enjoyed the dogs treats.
Pear tree cottage was beautiful. Excellent quality furnishings, very well equipped. Excellent parking, enclosed garden that our dog enjoyed whilst we enjoyed the hot tub. A very comfortable 4star stay would highly recommend .
We stayed for a week at Pear Tree Cottage and we absolutely cannot find a single negative or criticism, apart from our stay was to short! The cottage is immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly need. The bed is super comfy and the whole place is very cosy. The hot tub was an added bonus that we enjoyed every morning and evening. The garden is super secure and with a 60kg Alaskan Malamute that was extremely important to us!! Mark and LeeAnn were super quick to respond to any questions we had, even before our arrival which was very welcoming. They live next door but we never saw them and they absolutely respected our privacy. Thank you for an amazing stay!
Kieran
Simply fantastic from start to finish! The hosts were fantastic, it was easy to find once off the main road and is close to lots of local facilities. The property is well thought out, managed well and is very comfy and suited us perfectly for the week. We were hesitant about taking our dog as some places say they are dog friendly and dont appear it. However, this property is totally safe for a dog to roam the garden and are welcome to come with bowl and mat provided for the dogs! We will absolutely be back again, cannot thank the hosts enough for our stay. To top it off, a perfect hot tub!
Andrew
Pear Tree Cottage is a unique holiday home in an idyllic setting down a quiet country lane. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and we had a very pleasant stay. He kept in touch with us and responded quickly to any queries that we had, despite being away himself. There were however a few issues that did affect our stay such as there being no freezer as it had gone wrong, the garden umbrella being broken and the kitchen fridge either dripping water but then freezing our food when we turned it up a notch. These are mainly maintenance issues that need rectifying, although we appreciate that the owner has not had the property for long and may not be aware of certain things that need to be fixed. The property was very clean and neat and tidy, but a few bits of cleaning missed such as the patio table. Overall though we would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again.

We will definitely be back

Lovely little hideaway, very peaceful and relaxing with all the amenities required.

We had a really peaceful time at Pear Tree Cottage. Tastefully presented and clean, with all we needed to enjoy our five night stay. Good communication from Mark which made us feel we could call on him if needed. The hot tub and the walled garden was a draw to us which didn't disappoint. A lot of properties state that they have dog friendly gardens but aren't in reality, Pear Tree Cottage really is safe for dogs.
Beautiful property, very quiet and peaceful, the only thing you can hear are the birds and cows. Mark and LeeAnne were very friendly and helpful, the welcome pack with biscuits and strawberries etc much appreciated and the dogs loved the treats. The facilities were like a home from home, our dogs really loved the garden which being walled in was very safe for them. We didn't use the hot tub as the weather was too warm for us to use it but it's a nice addition. Big thank you Mark & LeeAnne for making our stay memorable
This cottage was perfect for our stay in Cornwall. We had a lovely welcoming gift of chocolate and a bottle of apple juice which was very much enjoyed. The cottage was immaculate and we had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Definitely be back in the future .

A big thank you to Mark and Leeanne the new owners of Pear Cottage it is in a beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the cottage was enclosed and very comfortable and had everything we needed and the hot tub was an added bonus. Everything was lovely and the utility room was amazing. Thank you again Mark and Leeanne
Cottage was really lovely. Cannot fault the place at all.
Pear tree cottage is beautiful, we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning. Although the weather was terrible it didn't matter as we were so comfortable and content in the cottage. The garden was perfect for our nervous dog, it is fully enclosed. The hot tub is an added bonus.
Thank you for a lovely stay at pear tree cottage, we loved the partridges at pear tree. The cottage was lovely and comfortable perfect for a winter break with the underfloor heating. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the cottage was great. Normally we never stay in the same place more than once, but we both said we would certainly be happy to holiday in pear tree cottage again.
A beautiful cottage in a great location. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. We didnt have the greatest weather when we were away but that didnt stop us enjoying everything. The enclosed garden was super safe for our doggies who want to be outside come rain or shine! and totally private so we could enjoy the hot tub in peace. One of my favourite cottages so far of our many trips to Cornwall. We hope to return.
We have been super impressed with Pear Tree Cottage! Its a beautiful place to stay! It had everything we needed and I cooked a 3 course Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings!! and had a separate building for utilities! We really struggle to find places that are good for our dogs, lots say they accept pets but miss certain features that make them dog friendly, or compromise on the quality of decor and furniture. We found this place really was the best of both, everything was lovely and clean, and the high walled enclosed garden was a god send for us, this meant that we could let them out to toilet without having to lead them round, and we had privacy so they werent reacting to people walking past the property all the time. It also had a hot tub for us to relax in which is an added bonus! Its been the best Christmas and we have been so impressed, will definitely be back!!
