About Holwell Farmhouse

Holwell Farmhouse is a striking country house nestled near Bampton, Devon. With plenty of off-road parking and space for up to five well-behaved dogs, it’s a brilliant choice for large families or groups of friends looking to unwind in classic Devonshire surroundings.

Step inside and you’ll find a generous kitchen/diner, well kitted out for everything from hearty breakfasts to evening feasts. Just off this space is a practical utility room with both a washing machine and tumble dryer, handy for longer stays or muddy walks.

There are two comfortable sitting rooms to spread out in, both featuring crackling woodburning stoves for relaxed evenings in. One includes a Smart TV, ideal for winding down after a day out.

There’s also a quiet room tucked away for anyone after a bit of peace and a good book. Sleeping arrangements are well laid out across the house’s six thoughtfully furnished bedrooms.

Downstairs, there’s a single room with its own en-suite shower. Upstairs, you’ll find a super-king-size bedroom with a private en-suite and walk-in shower, another super-king, two family rooms (each with a super-king and twin beds), and another family room with a super-king and single.

To make mornings run smoothly, there are three further bathrooms and a separate shower room with a walk-in shower, plenty of space for everyone to get ready without queuing. Out front, the garden has a mix of patio and gravel, with outdoor furniture and a barbecue ready for those sunny afternoons when only grilled food and good company will do.

Only a short trip away from Holwell Farmhouse is the National Trust - Knightshayes Court, an extravagantly designed Victorian country house worth a visit, or perhaps take a leisurely canal trip with Tiverton Canal Co & Horse Drawn Barge, a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Walk amongst the stunning ancient trees and spend a day in nature at Tarr Steps Woodland National Nature Reserve.
