Orchard Leigh Reviews

Louise
Lovely positioned property on the outskirts of a village, looking out over fields from the back, ample parking for four cars on the drive. . Pubs and corner shops within walking distance. Spotlessly clean property, modern hot tub a fantastic addition. Wonderful open plan kitchen diner with bifold doors giving access to outside space. Would definitely return. One tiny improvement would be more drinking glasses required and improved heating in the kitchen diner. A perfect New Year break for our family, thank you
The house is stunning and the location is ideal, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our holiday. The property was very dirty upon arrival. We had to clean the fridge before using it and wash all kitchen items ourselves. The dishwasher was left full and dirty. It was clear the house had not been properly cleaned for a long timethere was black mould in both showers, dirt marks throughout, windows covered in smudges, questionable stains on cushions, dirty bedding in the cupboard, and numerous cobwebs. The worst issue was the hot tub. It had visible scum marks and was clearly not cleaned or emptied before our stay. We contacted the management company, and while a manager and area manager visited, the hot tub was only cleaned five days after we arrived and remained unusable. No offer was made to clean the house. We raised a complaint with Sykes, but the issue is still unresolved. As lovely as the property looks, our holiday was ruined by the poor cleanliness and lack of proper maintenance. We spent a lot of time on the phone trying to resolve these issues, but the handling has been very poor and is still ongoing. I would not recommend staying here until the property and its facilities have been thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
Fantastic Property! Everything as described. Excellent location. We have stayed in many houses over many years and this is right up there with the best. The house has a lovely feel to it. Loved the Hot Tub. Definitely would recommend and revisit
Guest book lacks basic information, recycling refuse collection details, local doctor contact details and walks and nearby attractions . These are normally provided from past experience in Sykes and other agency properties. General maintenance sadly lacking, wardrobe handle hanging loose in ensuite bedroom, kitchen cabinet door hanging off. Main oven was dirty, I cleaned one pan and tray for our own use. Not sure who is responsible for cleaning?? Thanks to Kate for sorting out the hot tub and dealing with the rubbish and recycling.

We stayed the weekend 3rd may5th. Lovely place lots of space. Unfortunately there was a motor home in the drive way which took most of the drive way so definitely cant fit 4 cars. Luckily we was only in one car as there isnt any road parking. Hot tub is not ready on arrival day so couldnt use it until the following day which isnt very helpful when that was one of the reason we booked to use it. We was told wasnt turned on till 3pm so didnt even get to half the temperature it should be. The bedroom with the bath in has a horrible draft in it makes it very cold in there. Other than that we had a Lovely time.
We arrived on Monday 17th February. There were 7 people in our party. The description on the property on Sykes says space for 4 cars, there was space for only 2 cars as there was a camper van parked there on charge for the duration of our stay. We actually arrived in 3 cars so due the this camper van being there one car had to be parked out in the very narrow side street. The main bathroom lights did not work from that Monday evening, meaning that all 7 people had to use the small en suite bathroom in one of the bedroom as from around 430 in the evenings the main bathroom was too dark to use. Not a good situation as 3 of the 7 people are children who often wake up during the night to use the bathroom, disturbing the 2 people all week staying in the bedroom with the en suite. I contacted Sykes cottages as directed on their website via a WhatsApp chat on the Tuesday 18th morning. I had NO reply so the problem really did make our stay an unhappy one. These two issues caused some distress on what would have been a perfect holiday as the property itself is amazing.
