For a day by the seaside, head to Rhyl along the North Wales coast (19 miles), home to four beautiful sandy beaches. Heading west, Snowdonia / Eryri National Park (17 miles) is perfect for hikers, climbers and nature spotters.

When it's time to turn in for the night, there are three bright and cosy bedrooms along the corridor, each with restful views of the surrounding farm and countryside: a characterful super-king-size room, a cheerful double and a charming twin with an en-suite WC and wooden beams in a low sloping ceiling.

During springtime the bluebell woods are spectacular while in the summer the bog garden is a favourite attraction with some unusual displays of flora and fauna. In the autumn a walk through the ravine with its flowing waterfalls in not to be missed. There are also several yearly events to enjoy including the Bat walk in September.
