Cwellyn Reviews

Wow! We have just returned from a fabulous, idyllic three night stay at Gwynfryn farm, Llannor, Pwllheli. Approximately 12 accommodation cottagesapartments, we were in upstairs coverted farm building apartment, Cwellyn. What a wonderful surprise the entire holiday experience was. Sharon and farmer Alwyn were absolutely wonderful hosts, and there was every attention to detail. We are a couple in our fifties and it was perfect for us and perfect for the young families too. Every morning you can join farmer alwyn if you so wish, to feed the animals yes, we were big kids and joined in one morning! Called by the ringing of 'the bell by the well' to gather to walk round the trail on the beautiful grounds, to see and feed the pigs, lambs, chickens, goats and pony. There's so much there for all. Children's play ride on tractors are parked throughout the yard and grounds for little ones to use, plenty of outdoor play equipment, including a sand pit with mini diggers. For children and adults alike, there is a well equipped games room pool, darts, giant chess, air hockey, space invaders and a soft play area for littluns, as well as a small cinema area. There is an unbelievably well stocked gym and a bookable swimming pool with jacuzzi, pool, sauna and changingshowering area. EVERYTHING was spotless throughout. The pool is super easy to book. There is also a launderette. Families with teenagers would also find plenty to do, and Pwllheli is only a mile and a half away. Dogs are genuinely welcome. One evening we were treated to an absolutely amazing barbecue cooked by Sharon, which is a weekly regular event, weather permitting. It is a working farm and it was a delight to see the cows led back and forth for milking in the milking shed where you can see them being milked. The grounds are beautiful and set in the most beautiful rural welsh countryside of the lleyn peninsula. Swallows were flying back and forth feasting on insects from farm building to farm building, an absolute rural idyll. The accommodation itself was so cosy and spacious and light and airy, again, spotless throughout and well equipped with everything you need. The beds were extremely comfy, loads of space and storage. A decent bathroom with large bath and shower. Alwyn and Sharon were attentive to every detail and so friendly and welcoming. Our kettle became temperamental and was replaced within half an hour. It was beautiful watching a night mist come down one night and envelop the farm and buildings in such an atmospheric blanket of mist and everything was perfectly still, calm and silent. We can't wait to return and we highly recommend this idyllic gem.
What a fantastic place to relax and unwind ,great friendly environment everything you could need on hand and a comfortable nights sleep . Highly recomnend and hosts wete very friendly and accomodating. Stunning location 5 stars
