About Ty Mawr

This traditional stone-built farmhouse is hidden within the Bala countryside. It offers panoramic views and a number of sensational walking routes.

This relaxing destination, which suits groups of six wishing to explore southern Snowdonia or cocoon away in a gorgeous home, provides something for all ages and hobbies. Drive up a scenic route via the steep, sweeping road and arrive at this rural holiday home, where every room is cosy, homely and characterful.

Comfy sofas, a flickering wood burner and a Smart TV welcome you as you approach the lounge, or you could steal a few private moments with your book in the restful snug. The kitchen/diner is laid out for even the most experienced of chefs and is a lovely, bright space from which to create culinary delights to enjoy around the dining table.

You could even stay here a while, strike up the second wood burner and play a round of cards or a board game. Alternatively, the games room is on hand to amuse little ones.

At bedtime, walk one of two staircases to the first floor and lay your head in one of two king-size rooms or the twin bedroom. They also make use of the stylish shower room.

Enjoy this wonderful elevated position by soaking in the unrivalled hilltop views as you sip your morning cuppa. Despite its rural location, this much-loved accommodation is a mere 2 miles from the hustle and bustle of Bala, a historic market town with a network of well-trodden walking routes, an abundance of wildlife, and Michelin star restaurants.

It's also home to Wales' largest natural lake, Bala Lake (1.5 miles), a scenic spot for canoeing and sailing. Up your adrenaline by blasting through grade 3 and 4 white water rapids at the National White Water Centre (5 miles) or fly down a zip wire at Zip World (24 miles).
