Ty Mawr Reviews

We had a lovely stay at this property to celebrate an 80th birthday. House was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Games room was a hit with the kids.

Had a fantastic stay for 3 night with the family to celebrate a big birthday. The house was perfect in every way. Lovely kitchen area for everyone to hang out and play games. The owner was great with any issues or help we needed. I would most definitely return.

We booked this house with nerves as we have never been away at Christmas time so did not know what to expect

I had a lovely stay at Ty Mawr was quite easy to find. The information pack given was great and essentials were there on arrival which was handy. Cant find any fault in my stay. The owner was fast at responding to any queries which was handy. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful house as pictured and by far the best my family have stayed at for heating lovely & warm had to turn down showers all work fantastically beds very comfortably WiFi no issues, everything is catered for, games room was great for my nephews a bit cramped if playing pool but they managed. Only thing that could be better is the lights around the hot tub, the solar didnt work & once dark you couldnt see, could be the lack of sun but a sensor light would be useful just so you can see getting in when dark & to close it. Great contact from owners & very helpful would definitely recommend & book again

We had an amazing 4 night stay, property was clean and comfortable, 4 adults and 5 kids aged 718 games room and hot tub were a big hit with everyone, garden was secure for 2 spaniels, weather was lousy but we enjoyed board games in the cosy surroundings

Perfect for a large family with dogs.
We had a lovely stay at the property. The welcome pack was lovely. We didn't realise this was there so we ended up with double as we went shopping for essentials before we arrived. The house is very clean, well heated through out and plenty of space to move around. They had pretty much everything you need from a stay including dishwasher tabs, washing machine pots, WUL, plenty of towels and blankets. If I could suggest anything moving forwards it would be the following 1. More mats to be provided, there was only the large rug in the sitting room and a door mat behind the front door. Although the property allows dogs, this was not suitable for our two large lab crosses. They were scared to even enter the house as the tiles were too slippy. Luckily we bought extra bits with us, but it would be a good idea to provide non slip runners so at least a walk way can be made for larger dogs through out the downstairs. A mat by the back door inside, after using the hot tub and coming back into the dining room, there's noting to stand on when you enter the house unless you remeber to bring a mat downstairs with you. All in all the property was a lovely stay, it was clean, tidy, easy to find things, plenty of space if you have a large group of people there was only 2 of us and 2 dogs, so we had more than enough room.
We have been coming to Wales for many years and this has got to be the best property we have stayed in. The house is amazing it has everything you need for a week away from home. There is plenty of space we were a party of 5 adults and a dog. The garden is enclosed with a lovely hot tub and patio furniture. The games room has a variety of activities to enjoy such as darts, pool and a PlayStation. The kitchen has every piece of equipment you might need such as sandwich maker, toaster, coffee machine, air fryer etc. upstairs are good sized bedrooms each with plenty of hanging space and storage. The main bathroom has a huge bath ideal for a soak after climbing or walking. We all found our beds super comfy. The steam train passes close by regularly which is lovely to see too. The owners are super friendly and helpful too. It is an ideal location for exploring north Wales. We will definitely be back we were so impressed with the property we loved it!

We had a very relaxing week in this property. Would highly recommend it. Had everything we needed, and the hot tub was a big hit after a walk up Snowdon! Great location for exploring Snowdonia, and also only a short drive to Harlech beach which is great for dogs, and a good place to walk if it is too wet and cloudy for walking up hills. Another bonus was the 'book swop' box at the nearby steam railway station 2 mins walk!
Andrew
Excellent stay, would highly recommend the property. Suited all nine of us in comfort and style. Would stay again if we come to the area again.
Dianne
We had a lovely stay at this property. It is spacious with good facilities and good parking space. The games room and hot tub were really useful for entertaining a large group and the living room was great for space for everyone. The only improvement we could really suggest is extra chairs as there were only 6 for the dining table so we couldn't all sit round it as there were 7 of us, there is a breakfast bar with extra seating in the same space but we usually sit at a table together. Overall we had a wonderful stay which was made comfortable and easy by this property being such good quality. The recommendation of 10 is for the cottage, not Sykes who I would not recommend and had significant difficulty dealing with as actually speaking to a person about any queries is virtually impossible.
Amanda
Excellent property, and would love to come again. Hosts were brilliant.
This property was amazing. We went with the family and we had everything we needed to allow us all to have a fabulous holiday. The property is spacious which meant we could all have our own space if we needed it with a lovely garden, patio area where we could fix up a badminton net, a great games room and of course the hot tub. We would love to visit the property again. Linda Chuter and family July 2025

5th 12th July 2025 A beautiful and stunning house situated in a peaceful location. Ty Mawr was bright and spacious and also very well equipped. The hot tub and games room were great to chill out in after an adventurous days out. Beautiful garden with plenty of furniture to relax and enjoy the lovely weather we had. The property is within easy reach of amenities and attractions. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely return to Ty Mawr. Thank you .
Beautiful home, we had a lovely stay. Perfect few days with the family, lovely kitchen with great appliances made cooking some family meals a very pleasant experience. Very comfortable beds & beautifully decorated throughout, we would highly recommend. Games room was a massive hit, plenty of pool played when the rain came & the two babies really enjoyed some of the toys. My only negative is that there is no recycling.
Lovely property with beautiful views, very peaceful, spacious and modern, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
Michael
Wonderful attendance by the owners of the property, superb property and location. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Weve just had a 3 night stay here and it was fantastic! The house was spotlessly clean and was well equipped with what we needed, spacious kitchen with dining area was a great space for a large family. Beds were comfy and we had extra blankets though werent needed because it was so warm. Hot tub was lovely and clean, a great size and seems pretty new. Games room was a great addition, we had many games of pool and darts. The outside area was fab the kids spent a lot of their time running around outside and the outdoor toys were a big hit! An added bonus was the steam train literally passing the house so the kids had fun waving to it. I saw the comments previously about the floor tiles being slippy the downstairs is tiled and staircase is wooden however we had kids ranging from 312 with us and we just made sure feet were not wet before coming inside and it was fine! Location was great, a nearby shop, take aways, nice pubs a short drive away. If you do book, make sure you follow the written directions as you get near, as the post code will take you past it and we all ended up having to turn back and follow the directions to find it. All in all a fantastic stay and we will stay again Im sure!
Michelle
We had a lovely week here, the house had everything you needed. Lots to do in the surrounding areas too, lovely walks with the dogs. Steam train ride was also fun after seeing ut pass the house each day. There was 9 of us and 2 dogs we enjoyed the hot tub, the games room and chilling in the garden. Hopefully be back again soon.

Ty Mawr was cozy, warm, and bright, With space and laughter, pure delight. Three carers, teens, and babies too, And sausage dogs who ran right through. The hot tub bubbled, the kitchen shone, Except that graterwhat went wrong?! The games room trapped the teens all week, While memories made are ours to keep!
Abigail
Fab stay and the cottage had everything we needed thankyou. My only thing would be to make people aware that the okay room is infact the garage .. there is no access to it from the house, no heating or flooring and more for outdoor toy storage as we had young children. Other than that, gorgeous, clean, lots of utensils, spacious, beds were comfy, travel cot provided, showers were amazing gorgeous big bath and the stream train going past was so cute! We have had a lovely time, thankyou x
A clean and comfortable house. Very surprised that the owners have not listened to previous comments clear glass on toilet door so we couldnt use and no mats by bifolds so very slippy. The house is neither child or dog friendly no gates outside clear glass on kitchenliving room doors and a major concern was the electrical cupboard which had a locakable bolt on it fine but the door was open! No lock on main bathroom door? Bedroom door wont close. Toilet seat loosefront door very difficult to openclose all things mentioned are quickly fixable with minimum cost. Finally there is no games room its a garage with some gamestoys in it.
It was an amazing Xmas time in this beautiful place. Everything well organised, very clean and comfortable, modern features. Really enjoyed . Reza
Felicity
Beautiful house, couldnt fault it. Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend to friends and family. It just needs a blind on the door of the down stairs toilet.
Antoinette
The house was fantastic very clean and comfortable Everything was provided. The only snag was the creaky floorboard and a few kind of rivets on the mattress between the mattress and the cover found we took them off
An immaculate property, well designed and well laid out with plenty of indoor and outdoor space, the beds are very comfortable and the cleanliness is immaculate, it is a very well furnished and clean property that the owner is very proud of. The kids loved the games room and the outdoor space. We would love to stay again
Immaculately clean on arrival, lovely little welcome package was a nice touch. Everything we needed from a holiday house. Comfy beds, great showers, brilliant selection of toys and games for the kids. All in a beautiful setting and was lovely to see the steam train pass by a few times a day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We did contact the number we had with regards to the patio doors looking very loose and the toilet seat was very wobbly. We had a reply from Will who said he would pop in. The patio door and toilet seat were not fixed
Shirley
We had a great stay and loved the accommodation. We were a little disappointed with the WiFi because it was poor and the tv channels. The games room is only for children but the kids loved the toys. There was no brown bin for waste food and no instructions for the cooker etc. We would definitely return thankyou
Audrey
What a lovely place, every thing we needed, we had 3boys 2. 3& 7 years they loved all the out door space Beds were very comfortable , showers were great. We definitely be returning also Willl was very friendly and helpful. Audrey
