The sitting room will be your go-to for film nights in, with a woodburning stove adding to the setting, or if the weather allows, socialise and dine alfresco, taking advantage of the enclosed and private garden space. Head upstairs and you'll find three bedrooms; a super-king-size, a king-size and a twin, along with a bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, whilst a handy cloakroom and utility rests downstairs.

For a day away from Yr Hen Stabl and a chance to stretch your legs, why not visit the village of Bontnewydd, where you can sample some of the local delicacies and explore the area's picturesque surroundings, with Gypsy Wood Park nearby, a firm favourite with families. Take a short drive to the characterful town of Caernarfon and get lost in its narrow, cobbled streets, visit the World Heritage fortress of Caernarfon Castle, people watch from the marina, or continue north and take a trip to the lively seaside city of Bangor, home to National Trust - Penrhyn Castle & Garden and Bangor Promenade.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Welsh Mountain Zoo - LL28 5UY

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.
