Yr Hen Weithdy meaning The Old Workshop is a converted stone building that once served the Penrhyn Estate in Llanllechid, Gwynedd. Sitting at roughly 1,000 feet above sea level, it was completely renovated in 2011 to a high standard. Far-reaching views stretch towards the Menai Strait and Anglesey and on clear days you can spot Penrhyn Quarry the largest working slate quarry in the world in the distance.

This is walking and cycling country. Public footpaths lead directly towards the Carneddau mountains and Zip World's mile-long zip wire is just a mile away.

The property sleeps six across three bedrooms. Ground floor has a kingsize (5ft) and a zip-and-link room configurable as twin or double. The first-floor twin has its own ensuite with a free-standing bath mountain views from the bath plus shower over and toilet.

A large ground floor wet room serves the other bedrooms.

Zip World Velocity is one mile away. Bangor is the nearest town.

Penrhyn Castle (National Trust) is approximately 3 miles (8 minutes). Snowdonia National Park walking trails are on the doorstep.

The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.
