Our trip to Wales was absolutely fantastic! The accommodation exceeded our expectations, really comfortable and well-equipped. The welcome pack was a lovely touchand relaxing in the hot tub after exploring was a real highlight. We enjoyed a scenic 30-minute walk from the cottage to Tenby along the beach, which was stunning. The Sunday roast at Billycan was spot onand the tapas at Twelve at the Mews were equally delicious. A day trip to Caldey Island saw monks singing in the church and even a red squirrel, making it truly memorable. We couldn't ask for more!

Penally's got a couple of lovely pubs nearby, plus a handy bakery - perfect for quick bites. Tenby isn't far either, just a short drive or a nice 40-minute walk. For both toddlers and older kids there's an indoor adventure playground, ideal when the weather is not on your side. The high-tec activity centre is always popular with interactive fun and education. The main attractions are the Zoo, Farm and Petting Barn and there is also a huge Adventure Play Area and a small funfair with traditional rides. Priced at just £8.00 for adults and £7.00 for children it offers excellent value for money. There are several places to eat and drink including a licensed bar and a family friendly restaurant.

Pembroke Castle is thought to be the birthplace of the Tudor dynasty and is an excellent choice for a family day trip. The castle one of the areas most iconic landmarks and features an amazing 75ft high Great Tower! Visitors can also take a tour of the Norman Hall and the Exhibition Rooms where the displays change regularly. There is also a Picnic area and plenty of open space for children to run around in the grounds and gardens. The site also has a cafe and a gift shop.

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!

They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.
