Perfect little getaway, everything we needed to make our stay comfortable

Adly this was such a bitter sweet experience for us. The summer house was ideal for our needs, in relation to layout, where it was situated, secure garden for our two dogs and only a short drive from all amenities. Unfortunately this was spoilt by the ingrained dirt and filth that was found on every piece of woodwork, cupboards, etc. By far the shower was the worst and should have been condemned. I spent the first two days deep cleaning which due to the intensity of the dirt was almost fruitless. The floor required me on my hands and knees over the two days to try and get some grain on the laminate sofa and chair had dog hair crumbs and debris underneath the cushions. This really was such a shame as the property and owners were lovely, if they invested in a full deep clean, fresh decorating and renewed the shower we would return without an issue. If they continue to ignore the feedback that has consistently been given regarding the extremely low standard of cleanliness in this property they will continue to have damming but factual feedback. My intention is to request a part refund not just based on our experience but the fact I contacted yourselves seeking clarification that all the concerns that had been voiced previously, had been resolved, this was certainly not the case. Superficially the state of the property is not obvious this is quickly made obvious when you start to look around. I have a catalogue of photos to show the disgusting condition of this property which I am more than happy to share. Another plus was the hot tub however this was also tarnished by the time and effort sometimes without success to actual light and maintain enough heat to access the tub. We were successful in two occasions which was a nice relaxing experience.

We have had a fabulous time at Summerhouse. The hot tub was amazing, lovely and hot Don't understand how others could not get it warm, maybe they weren't keeping the lid on or had no patients Had everything we needed, nice garden for the dogs and the outdoor furniture was really comfy. Nice and quiet. Parking was good, managed to get 2 cars on the drive without any problem. Only a tiny negative, I must agree with others that the skylights do need blinds as the light wakes you at 5am! Shower was nice and powerful and always hot. Owners extremely helpful with any question's we had. Would definitely stay again.

The property was first class, so comfort and clean. Hopefully we would like to stay again in the future. Hot tub was lovely and logs provided, a great hit. Owners live on site, willing to help if needed.

Property is conveniently positioned for day trips. Accommodation was clean, tidy with all necessary requirements for out stay. Would highly recommend it.

Overall a nice pleasant stay, but not without a few niggles. The beds were very comfortable, however the lack of blinds for the roof velux windows meant sunlight streaming in during the early hours, we had to buy sleep masks! Sofa and chairs all comfortable and the whole place was generally clean to a good standard, apart from the velux windows which could do with a wash down. Kitchen area was well stocked for two peoplewith a lovely gas cooker. The shower was lovely and the toilet area clean, there was however a slight smell of mustiness, not offputting but there all the same. The garden area was dog friendly and safe, a lick of paint on the garden wall wouldn't go amiss though. We didn't try the hot tub, it seemed a bit of a faff. Hosts were friendly and the surrounding area beautiful with some lovely beaches just a short drive away. Super farm shop nearby as well. All in all, thank you for a good minibreak.

Very nice secluded cottage, great garden for dogs, as it is enclosed, owners are very helpful, friendly and provide some useful information. I do however agree with comments from previous holiday makers, that there needs to be blinds on all of the rooflight windows, as sun is streaming in at four in morn with no way to shut out, also it increase heat in all rooms. That said we had a lovely holiday, and could relax, after coming back from beach. I would recommend this as a good place to stay.

Lovely stay at the summerhouse, the summerhouse was easy to find and in a great location. We were greeted on arrival by the hosts, they even left us some treats ready for us which was a lovely surprise. We stayed for the weekend with our dogs, the garden was enclosed so nice to know they couldnt get out. The summerhouse was spotless, and really pretty. We used the hot tub whilst we were there too and loved that. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It was a lovely lodge but it needed a deep clean as it was not up to the usual standard of sykes cottages . The bathroom floor was dirty , the floor by the folding doors was all cracked and damaged where rain had came in and was just covered with a mat . All the door frames were dirty especially where hands had been ,the cushions on the sofa were dirty even had dirt marks left on them, the curtains had holes in them .Couldnt open the bi folding doors as the trim on the bottom was broken which was a shame as we had lovely weather . The blind in the bedroom kept falling down when we tried to pull it down at night so just left it down all week . The skylight windows were dirty and had no blinds so was up at 5 every morning was nice to see the blue sky no good if you want a lie in . The patio was nice with the garden furniture but even that hadnt been swept as there was a pile of leaves left behind the furniture didnt try out the hot tub as the house wasnt that clean we didnt fancy it . The garden wall needed some work doing to it coat of paint again just need some love . We came away for a nice quite break but the owners decide one night to sit out with friends and had music blasting out get enough of that at home It was a shame really as Im sure if they cleaned it better and repaired it and added a few more touches more loo rolls , tea towels or even had coffee we may have recommend it to friends but Im afraid we wont be and we wont we return

We had a lovely stay at the Summerhouse. It was fully equipped, well maintained and comfortable. The garden was lovely and secure so we could relax knowing our dog was safe. Would highly recommend.

Lovely place to stay with lovely facilities in the property. The bedrooms are lovely and light and the kitchen is really well equipped. The property is ideally situated so you can go for walks and get to places very easily. The only slight downside is no matter what we did we could not get the hot tub to warm up, that said it didn't effect our stay at all and we would definitely come again and recommend to anyone.

Property was nice and we had a lovely stay. Couple of things to note Hot tub was woodfired. I spent over the period of 4 hours on each night trying heat up the hottub but it never did. I think the owner should have preheated really. Coffee machine did not appear to work Toilet radiator didn't appear to work so very cold in that room. Very grubby under sofa I only looked as the dogs where trying to get a tennis ball that was left there. All in all lovely private stay, thankyou.

The cottage accommodation is all on one level and the facilities are more than enough to self cater. Spacious and comfortable and cosy. The owners, Linda and Vernon were very friendly and even cooked us a Christmas dinner at no extra charge. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Beautiful property on one level. It was equipped with everything you wanted. A great location to visit Tenby, Saundersfoot. The owner Vernon and his wife Linda were very friendly and welcoming. Couldnt ask for more. We loved it so much, were coming back for 2 weeks at Christmas.

We had a lovely stay in the Summerhouse. Beautiful place for me and my husband and dogs. The prosecco and biscuits were a lovely surprise and both went down very well. So clean and well maintained . The garden was secure so great for the dogs as one can be an escape artist. All in all a wonderful place to stay would totally recommend.

Lovely stay very stylish owners were very helpful

We had a fantastic stay at the Cottage. It was cosy, clean and the enclosed garden was great for our dog. The beautiful garden furniture was a real treat. And the welcome bubbly and biscuits were really appreciated. Vernon and Linda were very friendly and welcoming and gave us great tips about where to visit. We never quite got the hang of the heating the hot tub but it didnt detract from our stay.

Absolutely lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. The decor is very classy too! The hot tub was amazing, and the garden area is beautiful and very private. We would definitely stay there again, we love Tenby, the beaches are fantastic, and the people so friendly.

The property is much closer to Lydstep than Penally and is over 3 miles from Tenby. Access to Tenby easy enough by car but walking not so much so. Parking is difficult in a SUV type vehicle as access very tight. On the positive side the garden is lovely with the outdoorpatio area very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time at The Summerhouse. It had everything we needed. The owners were so kind and helpful. We definitely want to return again in the future.

Communication with the Vernon & Linda, the owners, was really very helpful, receiving good directions before our stay and during. They also recommended attractions, restaurants and and place to eat. The Chinese was lovely but I would recommend to order before going to pick it up as it was very busy with a 45 minute wait.. The house was well situated and peaceful and had lots of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.

Absolutely lovely property in a great location. Very comfortable, we would like to visit in summer to to make full use of the bifold doors and garden.

Great super modern styling, with foldback doors opening to a lovely patio space and hot tub. Took a bit of time learning how to prep the hot tub 3 hrs, adding a log every 30mins and had a few issues with tv only had streaming channels eg iplayer to start with, but after small remote switches on sky freesat, normal channels worked after owners contacted sky Likewise, had a local area prob with internet, which owners responded to help with straight away! And apart from a small niggle about lack of bowls and cutlery for 4people wouldnt use dishwasher after every meal! this really is a perfect little accommodation!

A fantastic summer house in a lovely, quiet location. Close enough to Tenby and local beaches etc. Very relaxing and dog friendly, with a secure garden.

We enjoyed our stay at the Summer House. Owners were lovely, and helpful gave us recommendations of where to go and what beaches are worth a visit! Lovely areas nearbyby, but would need to drive to get to these. All in all, a good stay and we will definitely look at staying again

Situated well for the lovely beaches of Penally, Freshwater East and Broad Haven. Good quiet position with dog friendly garden. No way of escape.

A lovely cottage and very peaceful

It was secure for the dogs and was close to all the things you need when on ... It was secure for the dogs and was close to all the things you need when on holidays but far enough away to have a quiet and peaceful stay

Fabulous accommodation. Very comfortable. Well equipped. Only downside for us staying with 2 collies the garden is not secure. This meant we couldnt let the dogs out unsupervised. Also meant we had a couple of visits from the owners dog, which didnt go down well with our 2. A big part of our holiday experience is being able to let the dogs out to play, which unfortunately we couldnt do as they could very easily escape the garden area.

Very secluded holiday home in the grounds of the owners property. The house was well equipped although was smaller than the photos looked. The house needed a very good clean and dusting as there was numerous cobwebs with spiders and under the beds and sofa was very dirty. The hot tub was not that easy to operate and we had to light it up using wood supplied which was only sufficient for a couple of days usage. We had an issue with flies in the house which the owners resolved very quickly by installing pest control devices. If you have a dog there is limited places within walking distance to take them, but Tenby town centre is a short drive away which we enjoyed going too and there is some lovely beaches nearby. The owners were very helpful with any of our queries and recommended places to visit.

A lovely property which we enjoyed staying in and the owner who lived in the grounds was extremely responsive and helpful. It felt smaller than the photos and was a little tight for us with two older children and lots of beach kit, but still comfortable. Could do with some more hanging space eg pegs outside for wetsuits, coat rack inside. Also something like a storage bench outside to save bringing sandy shoes into the property. But overall, it had everything we needed and we really enjoyed sitting outside for mealsrelaxing in the pretty garden. Good location only a short drive to Tenby and some fab beaches.

Wonderful little Summer House,secluded in it's own garden. ..very well equipped but a microwave would be useful.Neighbours next door are the owners Vernon and Linda, not intrusive but very kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, where to go, best beaches etc.We had a great holiday, thank you.

Where do I start with Summer House? This property is amazing! Very modern with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Its in a great location with plenty to do in the surrounding areas, a week wasnt long enough to do everything we wanted to. The property itself was super clean and fresh. I particularly liked the little touches such as cushions and throws on the sofa and night lights in the kitchen. There are some luxurious touches such as the dressing table and beautiful stool in the bedroom, plush bedding and the light up mirror in the bathroom. Super handy to have a washing machine, especially with us having our first holiday away with a newborn, it really did make our stay easier! The garden was lovely with a nice seating area and BBQ and of course, the hot tub. I just want to say how lovely and welcoming the owners Vernon and Linda are. We were greeted by a bottle of Prosecco and biscuits which was wonderful after a long journey. They were really helpful when we had any questions and also sent us a list of helpful information such as places to eat and visit. We really couldnt have asked for more so thank you! Our week was brilliant and we were sad to be leaving! I would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely holiday home in great location. Brief walk to beach through holiday park and would recommend parking at train station for lovely walk into Tenby. Lovely traditional Sunday lunch in village pub great value.

We had a fantastic stay at summer house! Lovely modern, fresh accommodation with great attention to detail. Enclosed garden suitable for dog to potter about and outdoor furniture and hot tub too! Quiet but secure location with parking which was important. Good location with easy drive to attractions like Heatherton aswell as Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth. Prosecco and sweet treats provided by hosts was a pleasant touch too! Would recommend to family and friends who want to visit this area. 1010 thank you!

Overall a delightful stay but the property hadn't been dusted for a very long time under the bed was really bad. Having a mop at the property would be really useful so the guests could mop up the dogs muddy paw marks..

Could not have been better. Well equipped, very cosy and quality of WifiBroadband was exceptional which was of paramount importance unfortunately as I had to work from there for 2 of the 4 days. Wanted to bring the feather duvet home with me, but couldn't fit it in the car! The owners are very discreet but I knew that Vernon and his family would be on hand if any issues arose, which they didn't. Willi be recommending to ohers and would love to stay there again.
