We had a fantastic 5 day stay at Grove Cottage what a beautiful relaxing ... We had a fantastic 5 day stay at Grove Cottage what a beautiful relaxing cottage, everything you need, we watched stunning sunsets and the dark night stargazing was amazing, we hope to return early next year thanks Michelle and Kirk from Ruthin
Loved how the property was secluded and self check in was great. Games room was a big hit. Lovely place and would return but only downside was the grime on the hot tub the next day, we reported it but built up again throughout the days, not pleasant when wanting to relax in it.

A gorgeous cottage in a quiet location. If it's peace and serenity that you're after, then this is the place. A well maintained, clean and spacious cottage, where everything is thought of and you really don't have to worry about anything. We loved the hot tub and the games room was a big hit with the adults and kids alike. A really beautiful place and would recommend to anyone. We look forward to returning in the future.

Amazing place to stay! Very spacious with a hot tub and games room, which made it perfect for a birthday celebration. The scenery is beautiful, with fields all around, and it's in a lovely isolated location, making it very peaceful and relaxing. We stayed for one night for a birthday and everything was great. The only suggestion would be to add a few more beds, as there's plenty of space available. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend Grove Cottage to others.
Great stay, beautiful setting. Would highly recommend.

Clun Castle is a ruined Welsh border castle on a rocky mound beside the River Clun, on the edge of the small, picturesque town of Clun. Founded shortly after the Norman Conquest, it still has its tall 13th century keep, which unusually sits on the side of the mound, along with extensive earthworks to wander around.

Stokesay is a moated, walled manor house near Craven Arms. Though it looks like a castle, it was really a lightly defended mansion, with work completed by 1291. The stone hall and solar block sit behind two stone towers, and the hall keeps its 13th-century wooden-beamed ceiling. The timber and plaster gatehouse at the entrance dates from the 17th century.

Tip: Book advance tickets online through English Heritage, and finish with a break in the tearoom, which is open to all and welcomes dogs.

Llanthony Priory is a partly ruined Augustinian priory in the secluded, steep-sided Vale of Ewyas, in the Black Mountains area of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Founded around 1100, it became the first priory of Canons Regular in Wales and grew into one of the great medieval buildings of the country, mixing Norman and Gothic styles. The main ruins are cared for by Cadw.

Tip: The priory is about seven miles north of Abergavenny on the old road towards Hay-on-Wye, so allow time for the winding valley drive.

Drive times are typical times by car with no traffic. Check opening times and book tickets on each attraction's own website before you go.
