About Cwtch Bach

This curved, timber-clad pod rests peacefully within the Welsh countryside, offering a tranquil escape with designated off-road parking for one car. A short walk along the decking leads to the entrance, where a well-considered interior awaits.

Inside, the compact kitchen is fitted with a fridge/freezer box, microwave, hot plate, toaster, and kettle—ideal for preparing light bites or a morning brew. Just beside, the dining area features bar stools and a breakfast bar, creating a relaxed space to enjoy meals or plan the day ahead.

The sitting area includes a futon and a wall-mounted TV, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The TV is also positioned for comfortable viewing from the double bed, allowing guests to enjoy entertainment from multiple spots within the pod.

A sleek shower room completes the interior, fitted with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC. Outside, the garden offers a lawned area and outdoor furniture, ideal for alfresco dining or soaking up the sunshine.

The hot tub sits to the side, adding a touch of indulgence to your stay, while guests also benefit from access to a shared gym. Livery is available for those travelling with horses.

Set within fifteen acres, guests are welcome to stroll to the communal area with their four-legged companion on a lead, taking in the surrounding countryside views—though you may encounter farm dogs on-site. Cwtch Bach offers a peaceful and practical base for exploring this scenic corner of South Wales.

Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
Cantref Adventure Farm - LD3 8LR

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.

At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.
