About The Lodge

The Lodge is a welcoming bungalow nestled near Tondu, Bridgend. Perfect for families or friends, this countryside abode features an open-plan design, en-suite facilities, a bubbling hot tub, and lovely rural vistas.

Drive down the sweeping driveway, and as you approach, take a moment to breathe in the fresh countryside air surrounding this single-storey abode. Upon entering, shed your coats and boots, then make yourself at home in the bright and spacious open-plan living area.

Feel the warm and fuzzy ambience throughout, courtesy of the underfloor heating. Head to the kitchen to craft a delicious spread for the group, with an electric oven and hob.

When dinner is served, crack out your favourite beverage that you have stored in the fridge/freezer, pull out a chair at the dining table, and tuck in. After plates are cleared, pop them in the dishwasher to assist with an easy clean up, then lounge on the sofa in front of the mounted Smart TV.

There is an additional sofa positioned near the bi-folding doors to admire the countryside, ideal for reading a book or planning the adventures ahead. When the night draws to a close, choose from two bedrooms, a king-size or a twin room, both with TVs; perfect for lie-ins, and en-suite shower rooms to refresh.

In the morning, fill your cup with the coffee maker on hand, then head out to the garden to admire the wildlife. There is a private patio perfect for dining alfresco, fire up the barbecue for some grilled goodness in the afternoon, and this space also boasts a hot tub to soothe your muscles after days out exploring.

With access to the grounds, you can explore the grounds to encounter majestic peacocks or adorable goats. The Lodge, a lovely retreat to appreciate the wildlife in Bridgend.

Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.

These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.
