Old Rectory Cottage Reviews

One of the best places weve ever stayed at. Great cottage, beautiful friendly village, close to Lincoln. Very good info pack with the added touch of a welcome pack of snacks etc including dog treats
Lovely cottage in a quiet peaceful village location but within easy walking distance to all the facilities you are likely to need , bus stop 15minute ride to centre of Lincoln, Pubs, Chemist, Supermarket and various take aways. The owner was close to hand and ready and willing to sort out any small problem.
Cute cottage in ideal location
A beautiful cottage, clean with great amenities. Id definitely book again.
We had an incredible stay over Christmas and could not have asked for a better place. The accommodation was exactly as listed, very cosy, comfortable, and beautifully set up for a festive stay. The hosts had decorated the house for Christmas, which made it feel especially welcoming from the moment we arrived. The house was very clean throughout, and despite the cold weather, the heating system was extremely effective and easy to use. The beds were lovely and comfortable, and the shower pressure was excellent the bathroom in general has all modern features as well as plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well equipped, and the welcome box and card were a really thoughtful touch. We also appreciated that there were amenities provided for dogs, which would be ideal for anyone travelling with a pet. Communication with the hosts was excellent! They were very quick to respond both before our arrival and throughout our stay, and the precheckin instructions were clear and helpful. Everything felt well organised and stressfree. The location is a great balance of peaceful quiet while still being very convenient for getting into Lincoln. Parking was easy, with ample space both next to the house and on the adjacent road. Noise levels were generally very good, which meant very restful sleep and plenty of energy for festive activites! There are some great local touches too. We enjoyed a particularly good Sunday roast at the Ferryboat pub just down the road, and the newly opened Sainsburys in the village was incredibly convenient. Overall, this was the perfect place to spend Christmas. We would thoroughly recommend this stay to anyone, and we would absolutely stay again.
The Old Rectory is a very charming cottage in a lovely peaceful village. Its warm and cosy and quite spacious with ample room to relax. There are all the comforts of home, it has a modern beautiful bathroom. The beds are comfy. Lincoln is a couple of miles away and well worth a visit. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for an enjoyable break in a great location. Would definitely return
A lovely characterful cottage, tastefully decorated and in a great location. Very convenient for Lincoln. Very well equipped. Comfortable accommodation with a homely kitchen diner and warm and relaxing living room. Large comfortable bed and clean linentowels. Good local amenities. Parking not an issue and neighbours friendly and helpful. Excellent communication from the owners. The only issue was the temperature regulator on the shower which was extremely stiff. Highly recommended.

There was everything you needed . On first impressions it look nice and tidy , there was a smell coming from the kitchen it needed a good clean , also the back door needs alook at ,there was cob webs ever were also the skirting boards could do with a good clean has they was very dusty in places ,The bed was very comfortably also clean , the bathroom was nice apart from the bath, didnt have showers has when stood in bath didnt feel safe .
We had a really good short break staying in The Old Rectory. Lovely cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Beautiful property well furnished with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Owners were extremely helpful and couldnt do more for us. The cottage its bigger than the word cottage presumes! is in a very pretty little spot with a fab pubrestaurant just a couple of minutes walk away, if that. Local facilities such as coop and a pharmacy are just 10 minutes walk away with take away options nearby too. Having said that, its very quiet and peaceful. Truly a great find!

The cottage was comfortably furnished and well equipped. An outside drying line would be useful. The cottage is well place to explore the area
Lovely cottage with owners who provided great communication and attention to detail. Perfect for exploring the local area.
Had the best time at this cottage. Was absolutely beautiful felt very cozy and very homely. We would definitely come back again!

We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. The cottage was a real home from home, was very clean and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and the owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. The cottages location was perfect a nice quiet location with a lovely private courtyard but within walking distance of a shop, a couple of pubs and a choice of takeaways. Parking was easy and we really enjoyed the walk from the cottage to Lincoln along the river.
The cottage was in a great location, very comfortable bed and lovely liveable kitchen. The garden needs attention it looks scruffy, garden furniture is rusted and outdoor cushions are stained and dirty. I think the shower may be faulty as it was impossible to managed the temperature and not get scalding hot water. There was no indication of which way was hot and which way cold and the dial kept sticking, I didnt appreciate having a text from the owner half way through my stay asking for bins to be put out. This was clearly mentioned in the instructions in the cottage and so had no idea my mobile number had been shared.
Kitchen and pots were filthy, bedroom fine, garden not brilliant for dogs ... Kitchen and pots were filthy, bedroom fine, garden not brilliant for dogs toileting and the dogs came home with flees which isnt great
We had a lovely stay. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. In a great position for Lincoln and surrounding towns such as Newark and Southwell. There are some lovely dog friendly country parks close by. The courtyard garden is functional but could do with a little tlc. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
This was our second stay at this lovely cottage which is so convenient for Lincoln, but in a quaint village not far outside. It is very dog friendly and has a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
Richard
Perfect space for us over the weekend we stayed in Lincoln quick access to the town, yet in a beautiful comfy cottage in a lovely village setting great welcome pack provided and handy outdoor courtyard recommended!
Lovely cottage with a courtyard garden in a quiet village close to Lincoln. Good pub 2 minutes walk away and a great location for exploring the area. We had a very enjoyable week there with our dog
We had the most lovely stay at the Old Rectory. Perfect location. Quiet and relaxing. Friendly neighbors. Great local pub. Top Stay
Catherine
Stayed at The Old Rectory Cottage for easy access of Lincoln for events I was attending. The accommodations was of a very high standard, loved the outside patio space for our dog. Two pubs in very close proximity and although I did not use, when walking past both were busy. Local take away shops and local CoOp so everything required if you did not want to travel into Lincoln.
Lovely cottage in a gorgeous location. The property was very well equipped and comfortable and the welcome hamper was a nice touch. We enjoyed seeing Lincoln and the Wolds. We hope to return for another break in the future.
Francesca
A beautiful cottage. It was like a home away from home. We came away for a few days to escape the chaos of Christmas and it was perfect.
Angela
Great place to stay. Fabulous kitchen facilities, gorgeous new bathroom. Spacious rooms with a great heating system including wood burning fire. Lovely quiet village with great walks on the river. Ferry boat pubrestaurant, a short walk away is a dog friendly and human friendly place to visit.
We had a lovely stay cottage was perfect.

We had a really nice break at the rectory. Very comfortable and extremely clean. Great location to bob on the bus into Lincoln.
Nicola
Wonderful, cosy, property in a quiet location but close enough to the city centre and surrounding areas to enjoy all they have to offer. The village itself has a takeaway, two pubs with shops not too far away for provisions. The house is gorgeous, cosy, beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. The courtyard garden with festoon lighting is magical, even on cold nights! Theres always the multi fuel burner to warm back up in front of. Adults, kids and dogs alike here recommend this house for a relaxing break. Owner is friendly and helpful 10 out of 10!

It was a lovely place to stay, very secure and quite. We are very likely to stay there again
Wow! What a treat to stay in Old Rectory Cottage! So much thought has gone into keeping it homely ... from the welcome pack to the water bowl for the dogs. We look forward to returning we stay in a lot of pet friendly cottages all over the UK and this is definitely up there in the top 3

Thank you, this was a lovely home, beautifully decorated with lots of character. Was also lovely it had a secluded outdoor sitting space which we used a lot. It was very convenient to get to Lincoln and other places of interest thank you 1010.

A really lovely cottage where we had a great holiday. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The village is very nice and it's so handy for Lincoln. Would definitely recommend.
We had a super holiday in Washingborough thanks in large to the fabulous accommodation and it's lovely location in a historic village. There were a couple of occasions where we had to contact the owner for help the whereabouts of the thermostat and the fuse box and both times Ian was very helpful and responsive. We definitely recommend The Rectory to anyone!
Herbert
Very nice property, and very nice area, Any faults were either because of our choice no downstairs toilet or nothing to do with the house poor weather. We would strongly recommend this cottage to anyone who pays attention to what it says it is offering. bert moorhouse Glasgow
We had a delightful stay over Easter at this charming cottage. It exceeded our expectations, starting with a wellequipped kitchen, to the very comfortable beds. The interior was stylishly decorated, blending modern with rustic charm. The courtyard garden is more spacious than photos suggest and became our private suntrap. The location is ideal. Nestled on the village green next to the church. And we were only a 2minute walk from a very friendly local pub where we enjoyed some great meals and even took part in the quiz night. Accessibility to Lincoln was easy. We walked along the river, and the surrounding area offered plenty of walking routes, including a trip to Mablethorpe and Skegness. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with easy access to local attractions and nature.

Lovely cottage, great setting , had a fantastic week the neighbours were really friendly and welcoming. Lovely welcoming pack. Dog loved her bed either in the kitchen underfloor heating or net to radiator in sitting room. Must have been luxury for her as only heat at home is log burner. The shower was great, but seemed to know one temperature, very hot too very very hot but it was workable if you were quick. Had a relaxing time and explored a county I had previously just driven through. would recommend the Old Rectory to any dog holiday travellers. Thank you.
Andrew
Lovely Cottage ideally located at a great price Red Arrows flying around most days 2 Pubs, Chinese, PizzaBurger joint. CoOp locally Plenty dog walks around local area Lovely welcome pack on arrival Lincoln only 10 mins away
Heather
This was my second stay. I returned for a week as my prior long weekend stay was too short. Its a really lovely dog friendly cottage with lots of home comforts in a very historic part of the country. The Washingborough Hall Hotel around the corner has a lovely restaurant and its worth trying to book a table there when visiting. I shall no doubt be returning to stay at this cottage.
Neville
The cottage is beautiful very comfortable and cosy especially with the log burner and the Christmas tree lit up in the evenings. The welcome pack much appreciated. We spent three days in Lincoln. The restaurant in the cathedral is very good. The bus in the high street takes a few minutes and straight into the city. We couldnt walk the river path due to flooding so will have to come back to do that. The ferry boat pub and the butcher and beast pub in the next village also very good. Lovely relaxing week away thank you
