Bilberry Barn Reviews

Emmanuelle
Bileberry Barn is a very nice cottage, super quiet and rural but the town center of Crich is a few minutes drive away. The property location is perfect for the main attractions of the area. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, special mention to the hot tub and fire burner which made the stay super cosy and enjoyable. However, it is right next to Read morea milking farm so yes there is a nuisance around the smell outside which is very bothering and the early noise of the machinery (around 7am). Hide
Martin
Perfect location for my family weekend. Cottage was warm, cosy and had everything that you'd expect.
Jill
A lovely spacious barn conversion with a small enclosed garden and set in the heart of a dairy farm. Lovely watching the cows coming in and out for milking, the calves were gorgeous. The hot tub was enjoyed the all the family too.
Dorothy
Disappointing. The barn is right next to the milking shed so the noise (milking x 2 daily) and smell was unpleasant. The allocated garden space is tiny, overlooked by next door & obscured by hedges; even with the hot tub (not v clean) it's not conducive for sitting in. Going in/out you run the gauntlet as you must walk through next door's garden buRead moret you have no control over any dogs there. The farm dogs also run loosely and can be loud & aggressive. Inside lacks attention to detail in some parts Hide
Jane Elizabeth
Lovely well equipped cottage. Treats from our hosts on arrival were a very nice touch. Hot tub was amazing.
Andrea

Alison

Matt
Was a wonderful stay in a beautiful location, the cottage had great atmosphere and the dogs in site were very friendly and playful
Andrea
Very spacious, well equipped and comfortable place to stay.
Jean
Bilberry Barn lived up to expectations, the 4 adults and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location is very for visiting all the local attractions and there are lots of lovely walks. The hot tub was a wonderful feature.
Clare
The owner was great, prior to arrival & during our stay. The property is well equipt & comfortable, it is a short walk to the village, involving a country road with no pavement, then a public footpath. There are 4 dogs off lead on the land, 3 are the owners 1 their neighbours. The dogs bark & run towards u/cars, 2 can jump into the fenced garden so keep this in mind if ur not dog people, have young children, nervous/reactive dogs. The neighbours dog had a go at our dog (collie cross) quite badly
Grace
We had a really lovely weekend, the house was warm and cosy and the hot tub was a great addition! We loved being so close to nature surrounded by the cows. Mark was incredibly helpful and responsive over the weekend. Fantastic location and great walks all around!
Angela
We endorse the comments previously expressed as regards the cottage and its location.Fantastic.Great size and accommodation for a party of six. The only downsides for us was that as stated,it is a working farm, with the cows being milked at 7am right next to the actual cottage. So if you want a lie in,which wed hoped for, its not ideal as the machi nery is loud. And despite previous reviews about the welcoming dogs, Bella actually went for our elderly Yorkie on our arrival. Not a good start!
Fredric
amazing location, lovely barn conversion!!
Harriet
We stayed here for a short weekend away and it was so much more than we expected. The cottage is brilliant and has everything we needed. There was 6 of us, a baby and a dog and it was so easy! Great stay and so convenient having the owner on site.
Bethanie
Me and a group of friends wanted a quiet get away for us and the dogs and Bilberry Barn did not disappoint. A gorgeous house set on an adorable farm. We were surrounded by cows, chickens, ducks and im sure I saw a goat or two. The house was nice and cosy and with plenty of space for everyone to socialise. The bedrooms were beautiful and the bed was so comfortable! The hot tub was a high light for us all and was the perfect thing to finish off a day in Matlock. I definitely recommend a stay!
les
Fantastic week away in the Peak District. The owner Mark was very nice and easy going. Made us feel very welcome indeed. Recommend great for a family.
Sally
Really lovely place, well equipped and in a lovely part of Derbyshire
R
Barn in great position for getting access to the peaks. Enclosed garden very small but easy access to adjacent properties frontage but beware of the loose chickens and ducks if your dogs are not used to being near them. Village pub was closed when we were there but due to reopen soon.. A single portion of fish and chips from the local chippy enough to feed a family of four. A very nice place to stay
Michelle
We had an excellent stay at Bilberry barn with family for a week. Beautiful scenery and a short walk into the lovely Crich with a great pub and little shop, Indian and fish and chip shop. It is a working cows farm but we enjoyed seeing the cows and the pet dogs roaming around and didnt disturb us The hot tub was a nice treat and the rooms spacious and really comfortable beds. We visited Bakewell , Matlock town and bath and the Heights of Abraham. Would recommend to our family and friends
Lynn
Great cottage in a beautiful locationCrich is a lovely friendly village with lovely pub, chip shop, bakers & convenience store. And butchers which didnt use. Owners of cottage couldnt have been friendlierfresh eggs from farm on request. Our grandchildren loved to see the cows walking past to be milked. Chickens became friends with us in our little garden, as did the 3 dogs from next door. If you love the outdoors & farm life youll love this property.
Jennifer
We all enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Very cosy, nice big tv. Loved the hot tub. Beautiful scenery and lots to do in the area. Good food at Old Black Swan in Crich. Would recommend .
Teresa
Fantastically converted barn. Great to see the process recorded and displayed on the wall. Well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Hot tub was a huge success. Crich village has a good pub and bakery/cafe.
Gillian
Bilberry Farm is a beautiful cottage. It was quite well equipped, the owners are lovely and friendly. The kitchen was a reasonable size to work in and had a large fridge which was useful. The rooms are all spacious and we enjoyed using the hot tub. Its in a really good place for exploring the local area. We loved the wood burner in the evenings. We had 3 cars and parking wasnt an issue!
Ellen
A friendly welcome and a stunning view of the countryside. A lovely place to stay!
Rehanna
Lovely cottage owned by lovely people . As a family we enjoyed many walks and it wasnt a long drive to Matlock , bake well and Chatsworth house . Good to have parking for 3 cars ! The postcode of the cottage didnt seem to take us to the cottage on our sat nav and that was the case for the 3 cars that went just beware so we did end up putting in th e road name ( mooredge road, Plaistow green) .
Denise
Really lovely cottage, perfect for us and we were two couples in our 30s and a dog. Great size property, plenty of space to cook dinner and a lovely jacuzzi! Mark, the owner, was great and replied to messages immediately. Their dogs are really friendly too! Highly recommend and look forward to coming back again.
Mark
We loved our time at Bilberry Barn. The owners are lovely, as are their their very welcoming and friendly dogs, and very helpful. The barn itself is fantastic. Clean, cozy, well equippedand the hot tub is amazing. The location is beautiful and, despite being surrounded by cows, very peaceful with only the occasional moo! Well definitely be coming b ack and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others.
Tadna
Perfect little getaway! We wished we had stayed one extra day. It was very cosy , the beds were comfortable and in general it was a very tidy and clean place. The hot tub was a nice touch and made sure it was used. The owner left us a cake and a drink which was nice and left us to it. If you book this place, be aware of the cow poo
claire

Yvonne
We have just returned from a stay at Billberry Barn I can only say we didn't want to come home. We shall definitely be returning. The cottage itself is cosy, a lovely garden with views and of the course the hot tub. The enviroment of the diary farm from the cows, dogs chicken and goats was a real joy. Mark made us feel very welcomed and was very ac commodating with a couple of request. Thank you Mark.
Ann
Great host, fabulous cottage, would recommend for families & friends
Elizabeth
Amazing. No other word for it. Just got back from a week at Bilberry Barn and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Wonderful to be part of a working farm, and the house is so comfortable and cosy, I could easily have spent the whole time relaxing in the house. But it's location is perfect, so close to the many places to visit in the Derbyshire D ales, then come home to a hot tub and roaring fire. I had the best time there, felt safe and well looked after, and will definitely be booking again
Graeme
We had a great time. Everything was excellent.

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
