Situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Youlgreave, with easy access to the thriving market town of Bakewell, this country cottage offers a wonderful base for exploring all this National Park has to offer. The open-plan kitchen is wonderfully appointed at the front of the cottage, with a convenient dining area where you can enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal with your loved ones, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Walk through to the sitting room with a range of seating and a double-sided woodburner, which provides heat for the adjacent conservatory room.

About Peters Lea

Peters Lea is set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, surrounded by the beautiful open countryside, and is a delightful, detached, stone cottage. Situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Youlgreave, with easy access to the thriving market town of Bakewell, this country cottage offers a wonderful base for exploring all this National Park has to offer.

The open-plan kitchen is wonderfully appointed at the front of the cottage, with a convenient dining area where you can enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal with your loved ones, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Walk through to the sitting room with a range of seating and a double-sided woodburner, which provides heat for the adjacent conservatory room.

Choose one of these two lounge areas to catch up on all your favourite shows or use it as a quiet space to read a good book. Follow the steps up to the first floor, which boasts three large bedrooms - two doubles and one twin - ideal for families or a group of friends.

The family bathroom offers an elegant corner bath and a walk-in shower, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day, or take a relaxing soak of an evening after a day of sightseeing. Continuing to impress, the rear garden is an enclosed space, with lawn and patio areas with furniture, so you can sit out and enjoy the afternoon sun with a refreshing glass of wine or a lovely soak in the hot tub after a long day exploring.

While you're in the area, take a drive towards the market town of Bakewell to discover all manner of historical attractions nearby. Chatsworth House is a 16th-century stately home, with stunning landscaped gardens, a playground and a farmyard, plus an extensive art collection inside.

The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT

This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT

This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ

Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.
Denby Visitor Centre - DE5 8NX

Denby visitor centre is a fun day out in the Derbyshire region with an array of activities iunder one roof.  An all weather attraction you can take pottery tours, see cookery demonstrations and visit Bourne's restaurant.  There are events and offers on throughout the year for example the Denby factory Shops sale where you can save £££s and October Creepy Crypt for Halloween where you can go along in fancy dress and have your face painted.  Booking is advised so check out the latest details on their website.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB
about 15 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 20 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
British Wildlife Rescue Centre - TN8 7AR
about 26 Miles
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Rosliston Forestry Centre - DE12 8JX

Rosliston Forestry Centre is a beautiful woodland site with tranquil areas for Fishing as well as some beautiful meadows and a lake. For children there is a Play Area to run around on and during school holidays organised activities such as range led walks are available. The site is also an excellent place for Walking, Cycling and Horse Riding. Other available events taking place this year include an Archery drop in session, a Christmas Crafting Afternoon and a Mince Pie and Mulled Wine Walk.
