Spinners Cottage Reviews

Spinners Cottage is a great spot, super tidy and well situated. The hosts are friendly and really helpful. Definitely recommend staying here!
Emma Roberts
We really enjoyed our time at Spinners Cottage! It’s got loads of character and the views from the bedrooms, especially the main one, are lovely. The location was spot on - easy to get everywhereand perfect if you’ve got dogs since there’s plenty of space for walks. The hot tub was a highlight, super clean and relaxing. Everything you’d want for a nice little getaway!
Sam
We stayed here and found the place a bit tired, especially downstairs where the furniture really needs replacing. The front could do with a fresh coat of paintand some nice plants in front would boost the curb appeal. The stairs are quite creaky and noisy, which was a bit annoying, especially on all levels. Bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, especially the top floor, but the boarded-up window and broken toilet paper holder need fixing. The hot tub isn’t very private and isn’t in the best spot, so maybe reducing the price would make sense. Great location though!
Emma
Great experience, would recommend!
Emma
We had a nice weekend at this cottage with two couples and three dogs. The hot tub was really lovely and kept clean, which we appreciated. The inside was comfy and well stocked, making our stay easy. The only downsides were the open plan stairs, which meant we had to block off the dogs’ accessand the parking situation - the driveway was too small for both cars, so one was parked on the street. Also, the outside space is pretty tinyand getting the hot tub cover on and off was a bit tricky because of the cramped area. Still, overall, a good stay!
Emma
We loved the cosy feel of the cottage - perfect for a quick getaway after a day of walking. Beds were comfy and it’s great for socialising, especially if you enjoy chatting with neighbours. The hot tub is fun but not private, so not ideal if you're shy or after quiet time. Still, a lovely spot!
Emma
We enjoyed the log burner, it really added to the cosy vibe, though it’s not ideal if you have dogs since it gets quite warm. The garden isn’t fully secure if you have cars parked in the driveway because the gate doesn’t close properly. Not great for anyone with mobility issues either, with lots of steps and small stairs between rooms. The location is perfect, with stunning views and all the amenities you need. The hot tub was a real highlight too!
Emma Clarke
The cottage was super cosy and we really enjoyed our stay. The Canal Inn nearby is great for food and welcomes dogs too. Lovely spot!
Alex Turner
We loved the location-so much to explore nearby, it’s great for days out. The cottage had such a cosy vibe and felt really welcoming. The hot tub was a real treat and perfect for relaxing in privacy. It was mostly clean and tidy, though a few spots could’ve been better. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here!
Alex Morgan
We had a great stay at this charming cottage. It strikes a lovely balance between modern comfort and traditional character. The place was spotlessly cleanand the beds were incredibly comfy-perfect for unwinding after a day exploring. The views from the back are truly breathtaking, especially when you relax in the hot tub. Location-wise, it’s ideal for walks; Dovedale, Matlockand Bakewell are all within about 40 minutes’ drive. Just a heads up, the cottage is on a pretty steep hill, so confident driving on hills is a must. We’d definitely come back!
Emily
We loved the cosy cottage, nestled in such a tranquil spot. Dogs had loads of walks nearby, no need for driving. Bakewell is charmingand the Indian in Crich was fantastic. Honestly, we had a brilliant time!
Emma
We loved our stay here! The location is fantastic, with plenty of lovely walks nearby. The place is spotlessly clean and well looked after. It was perfect for us and our three dogs - just the right size. The outdoor space is small but enough for relaxing after a day out, with a hot tub and raised patio. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, with essentials like salt, pepper, coffeeand even pasta. The separate fridge and freezer, plus washing machine and wine fridge, made everything so easy. We’d definitely come back!
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was spotless and well-maintained, nestled in a gorgeous village with stunning views from the windows. Parking was straightforward, which was a bonus. The amenities nearby made everything convenient. The gate is a great idea, but with our little dogs, they managed to get through, so adding some chicken wire would be perfect for peace of mind. Also, the basket of logs was quite small-only three-so we had to hunt for more. Despite that, we had a lovely holiday and would definitely come back!
Emma
Honestly, our stay was a bit of a mixed bag. The bedding in the first floor bedroom didn’t smell fresh, which was a letdown. The hot tub was emptied without any noticeand the gate isn’t really dog-friendly-good thing we didn’t bring our small ones. The bathroom ceiling was sealed after a leak, but as a builder, I thought it could’ve been sorted better. Also, the bin was overflowing with maggots when we arrived-disgusting! Definitely not recommending this place if you’re bringing your pets. Could be better managed.
Emily
What a lovely cottage! It was really clean and clearly well looked after. The hot tub is at the front, but there’s still a good bit of privacy on the quiet street. The location is quite central, which is a big plus. We would definitely recommend it!
Sophie
We booked at short notice, so we didn’t get a chance to look into the area, but it’s only a 15-minute drive from Matlock. The cottage was lovely, really cleanand the hot tub was just great! It was so warm and cosy, plus the views were gorgeous.
Emily
What a lovely cottage in a fantastic location! Our only suggestion for improvement would be to fit a gate at the top of the garden steps. It's quite tricky trying to keep a dog contained without a gate stopping them from running out onto the road.
Sophie
This cottage is just amazing! The scenery around it is stunning and so picturesque. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back for more adventures. It’s the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our time there was just lovely and we highly recommend it!
Emma
What a lovely cottage! The facilities were great and the area was really nice. We had a fantastic time in the hot tub! Would definitely stay again.
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely accommodation, which was very well equipped. The hot tub and woodburner added such a touch of luxury! Just a heads up for dog owners, though—it’s not entirely dog friendly since dogs aren't allowed upstairs and there’s no enclosed area outside for them. If those points aren't a problem for you, then we highly recommend this place.
