Sleeping up to 18 guests, including children, there are seven bedrooms in total. Situated near Blakeney in Gloucestershire, this is a superb base from which to enjoy walks alongside the River Severn and forays into the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Venture 10. 5 miles to the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre then pedal off into the trees. Hire canoes at Symonds Yat, 17 miles away, while you are here, climb up to the dramatic rock viewpoint to take in the panoramic vistas of the picturesque Wye Gorge. Take the youngsters 7. 5 miles to have a go on the high ropes course at Mallards Pike.

Cheltenham famed for the Gold cup and Gloucester for shopping at the Quays are both within 25 miles. Pause to take in the incredible scenery and to understand the arrangement of the splendid accommodation provided here.

With both an attractive main period house and a stylish coach house, there is ample space to spread out, relax and socialise together. From the gates into the main courtyard and parking area, you will see the main entrance to the house.

Wander inside to find yourselves in the beautiful hallway with its ornate staircase, high ceilings and carefully chosen pieces of artwork. Make your way into the kitchen to your left, to unpack the provisions you have bought and start planning the holiday meals ahead of you.

This appealing space has been fitted out with everything you are likely to need for your self-catering, plus a large table to gather round. There is also a utility room, with additional appliances and a WC.

Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.
Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out.  The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed.  More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.
Lama Trekking at Old king Street Farm - NP16 6AA

Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.  This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds.  Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy.  New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.

A visit to the Craft Village is also recommended where there are a wide range of handcrafted gifts.
