Willow Lodge Reviews

Overall very good, everything as described and generally clean. Quite a lot of cobwebs in most rooms the only slight negative
Lovely place. Great reception people. Very quiet which suits us. Wellappointed Lodge with all facilities. Thanks for the chocs and fizz! A lovely pub The Plough 10 minutes walk awayexcellent food at the Wheatsheaf We didn't need the hot tub, so some way of turning it off to save energy would be good. Thank you very much. We would go back.
Very well maintained site, staff very friendly had hot tub and sauna which was cleaned daily. The bed was very comfortable, the site was very secure having electric gates the log cabin had all the facilities you require.
Willow Lodge is a luxurious home from home. It had everything youd need from a hairdryer to a dish washer. Washing machine was an added bonus. I must mention the bathrobes luxurious and comfy cosy. Very relaxed quiet atmosphere thru the day. Very cosy at night Definitely a place Id go back too
Andrew
Relaxing luxury lodge, all the amenities provided and immaculately clean. Will definitely come back.
Quiet, peaceful and well maintained with the following provisos. Only 1 key provided between 2 couples Bedroom doors could not be secure as did not fit properly. Use of pool more restricted than the listing implied and the charge seemed excessive. Saying that, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would come again. The Wheatsheaf pub is amazing.

We had a wonderful stay. The lodges lived up to their luxury branding and were very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. The hot tub in a private garden was delightful as on other lodge parks we have been to the hot tub is often overlooked by another lodge, the privacy of these really improves your hot tub experience. The location was great for family days out and there was lots to do, even in February!
Hayley
Lovely lodge. Very clean. Hottub was nice and warm. We would love to stay again. Nice relaxed quiet site, we didnt hear anyone else and it was full. Unfortunately pool was not warm enough for little one, she didn't want to get in, hopefully next time it would be warmer.
Gorgeous lodge, fab swimming pool, cracking for the kids even on a wet weekend. Lodge had everything we needed. Great stay.

We have stayed at this lodge before and all was very good. Staff are very helpful and Paul the owner is very helpful and takes great pride in the site.

We went to this property in February and it was perfect. But this time when we got there the hot tub was dirty and just about warm, after 45 complaints it was fixed the day before we came home .we feel robbed as the hot tub was a main reason for choosing willow Lodge.
A great stay, luxury lodge, everything you need provided. Quality bedding and very comfortable, the quietness was just what was needed, wheelchair friendly which suited our daughter, able to get around the lodge easy enough. Enjoyed having the hot tub and sauna, good to pop across to get a take away rather than cooking. All in all a great stay in what is rightly described as luxury lodges, would definitely book again in the future.
The most comfortable lodge we have stayed in. Will defiantley book again.
The property and site exceeded our expectations. The lodge was extremely spacious and well appointed. The hot tub, sauna and private garden space were terrific for relaxing in. The site was lovely and quiet, staff were very helpful and polite. This all made for a very memorable short stay.
A beautiful area and the lodge was amazing! Had everything we needed and the hot tub just topped it off! Will definitely be back again!

We were so surprised at the standard of lodge, customer care on site and facilities, for the price we paid! We really want to go back. The perfect place to go and switch off and relax
Claire
Very well appointed cabin. Comfortable and clean, lovely staff. Fabulous stay all round.
We have stayed in a lodge here before and we really like the facilities at the lodge, especially the hot tub, sound system and the games. The lodge is always so warm and cosy which is perfect as we tend to visit in early spring or Autumn. It is also great that there are so many towels, particularly when you're using the hot tub often. Unfortunately on our most recent visit the lights in the hot tub were not working which wasn't ideal when using the hot tub at night. There also seems to be a discrepancy between what the lodge booklet says turn the temperature down when children are using the hot tub to what the staff member told us children shouldn't go in and don't try to adjust the temperature as it messes with the levels and won't stay hot. Unfortunately the lights were not working for the duration of our trip as we were told that it they were to replace them they would have to drain the whole hot tub and we would lose a days use. This was frustrating. We also had the batteries in the thermostat run out and a light not working. Both issues were resolved eventually, but we felt that all 3 of these issues could have been preventable if things were checked to be in working order before our visit. Of course we understand that sometimes they do genuinely stop working when we are in the lodge, but for this to happen to 3 things felt unlikely. Particularly the hot tub lights needed checking prior to our visit and it certainly felt that the staff member only checked the hot tub when showing us how to use it. As for cleanliness, the bathrooms were clean. However other areas such as the kitchen and the lounge rug and surfaces didn't seem to be any cleaner than from the previous guests cleaning. When we left the property we felt the kitchen was as clean as it was when we arrived and the lounge rug was cleaner and that is with us not having all the cleaning facilities that cleaners would have. Also, the Henry hoover at the property is breaking nozzle falls apart and it isn't really very good for laminate flooring, it just feels like if you use the main nozzle you will scratch the flooring. Overall, we still really enjoy coming and we will no doubt come and stay again, but we'd feel more confident booking if more thorough checks were done before our visit and if the cleaning was better. We don't give this feedback to criticise, but in hope that these issues can be resolved and help improve the stay of all customers. Thank you very much.
Our second year of staying, lovely location perfect for a stroll into the village, fabulous lodge really high quality. Disappointed to see though that when looking to rebook for same in 2023 prices have risen so greatly
Denise
A nice comfortable stay, staff were very friendly and helpful
From start to finish this was perfect luxury for our short break away. With a much appreciated welcome pack...yummy, heavenly bed...Zzzzz, fluffy towels, and our own sauna and hot tub we felt totally pampered all the way. Thank you
We had a lovely time at Willow lodge, the facilities were great the hot tub was lovely, unfortunately we didnt try out the sauna as ran out of time. The welcome pack when we arrived at the lodge was a nice gesture too. Would definitely recommend

Several points identied and left with owners to consider but all improvements not negativity.
Staff are very welcoming and the lodges are lovely to stay in was very comfortable, was a little dusty but was still very clean. The only downside was the swimming pool as you have to pay once youve used the pool once. Overall i was very happy with the service and the stay!
Great lodge . Couldnt believe the size for the price for off season . Lots to do out and about . Great hot tub, sauna and the pool .
Lianne
Really well equipped lodge. The welcome gift was a really nice touch along with the robes available for use. The hot tub and the sauna was easy to use. The lodges are set in a very quiet secluded area with not a lot around however there is a pub within 5 mins walk. I would book in advance if you want to eat there as it gets very busy on a weekend. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the gate didn't lock so the wind made it bang continously abd kept us awake the first night. We put a sunbed against it the next day which stopped it. Would recommend the lodge and would stay again.
We stayed 5 days in Willow Lodge and could not asked for anything more! On arrival, you are shown to your lodge where there is a bottle of prosecco waiting for you amongst other bits including some eggs which were mostly double yolkers. The cabin is nicely decorated, has underfloor heating everywhere and is just a very comfortable space, with plenty of room. Kitchen has pretty much everything you'll need in there, including a coffee machine, and the hot tub and sauna were splendid. A short walk down a country path will take you to the village to two great establishments, The Plough and The Wheatsheaf. The former is a charming pub which does hearty food we ended up going in on pie night which was a welcome surprise, and has a good local pub atmosphere. The latter is a top tier restaurant which has a fantastic selection of interesting dishes, and is fairly priced for the quality of the meals. That's it for the local village, but everything else to do is only a short drive away, including a great falconry and of course, Rutland Water. We had a lovely time here and was a perfect way to spend a week off
An excellent lodge fantastically fitted out to a really high standard, really helpful and friendly welcoming staff! Hot tub and sauna perfect for a relaxing chilled weekend so much so that we rebooked as we checked out
Amazing place! Highly recommend it!
Lindsey
We had a great time in the Willow Lodge. The welcome gift was super lovely. The lodge was clean and hot tub amazing. Really helpful and sorted out an issue with the hot tub really quickly. Will be booking again soon for next year. Made my birthday weekend a treat. Thanks very much Lindsey and Keith
Absolutely stunning very luxurious. Quality of the build of the lodge is to a very high standard. Perfect place to relax and the location is fantastic, plenty of greenery and stunning village's you can walk to inbetween. Only one small request, having some instructions to use the hottub temperature as it's preset. I found instructions on the website, when you change temperature the hottub can stop the pump for it to allow to heat up before using pump etc. Other than that everything was tip top. Will definitely be back.
The lodge is just wonderful! As soon as we walked in it had the wow factor. We were shown to our lodge by a very nice man and he showed us how to use the hot tub. Inside there was lovely welcome goodies which were much appreciated thank you! Everything we needed was there and the hot tub was a fabulous addition. The lounge could benefit from a lamp, as there are only the main overhead lights which can be a bit harsh at night times so we used a lamp from our room for the week. The handsoap in the kitchen had been refilled with water to make it look full which is a bit tight for a 5 star property! But we had bought our own so used that. The kettle is a little tired now so needs replacing. The lodge area is gated off so felt very safe and it was lovely and quiet. The only noise is of children playing on the campsite park which made us smile. The entrance of the campsite could be tidied up a bit as it looks a little forgotten. However there was a gardener every day tending to the lodge gardens which is a nice touch. Every single person we spoke to was so friendly and polite to us it was a real pleasure. We will miss the lodge! We would love to come back and recommend it to anyone!
Very spacious, nice high fence for privacy, lovely area, and the village is only 5 minutes away
Had a nice time at this lodge for a weekend away. Lots of space with everything we needed. Site was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Main issue for us was the beds we didnt sleep very well over the weekend as the main bedroom bed was too firm and the twins too soft. The pillows were very firm and the duvet was far too thick and rustled every time we moved. Also the bed in the main bed is a double and not a king as advertised. The bedroom curtains would benefit from blackout linings. The people in the lodge next door to us were noisy and you could hear them playing music late at night and early morning so this needs monitoring by the site better or some soundproofing installed in the bedrooms. Didnt get chance to use the swimming pool as it was booked at the times we wanted to use it including for most of Sunday afternoon for private swimming lessons.
The cabin was wonderful and the hot tub fantastic could not fault the cabin a home from home we felt it would benefit from better internet service it wasn't very good at all . Also we felt that the site needed a club house as the local pubs were extremely expensive and lacked entertainment. We realize that this could be down to the covid 19 virus but something to break up the day without using the car would have made the break for us.
Matthew
A great place and 5 star
