This delightful holiday property set in a quiet location within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a short distance from Burford. The property is presented to a very high standard with seven bedrooms, three with ensuite shower rooms, a further two with ensuite toilet and basin and one family bathroom available making it absolutely prefect for large group gatherings - be they friends or family.

Internally the property retains many period features along with countless contemporary touches to give this a real high quality, minimalist feel. An element that particularly appealed to us was the large ground floor which has the feeling of being 'open plan' but actually has separate 'rooms' and thus creates a sense of being together without all the noise that this can sometimes bring!

Similarly appealing are the large gardens to the rear of the property, which the owners have thoughtfully added a hot tub, skittles and table tennis which are just as much fun for friends (adults) as they are families with children! A great choice.

There is a maximum of 14 guests allowed at this property. Infants not included in this number and there are two cots avalable.

Very clean, well presented and in a great location. Lovely dcor!

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and dining areas were fantastic. However we feel that the property needs an extra bathshower room in the ground floor bedroom. It was awkward for the couple staying there as they had to use others bathroom. Also it does not have a basin in the DiningBreakfast area to wash hands after having food specially when there were 12 of us.

The barn itself is as we expected. The lounge furnishings sofas and cushions were very basic and utilitarian the living room was set up like a communal room in a care home! The towels were stiff with some having bleach marks. The first floor rooms were unbearably hot. The owner took a 600 deposit which I didn't question as we have never been refused a full refund despite numerous stays in cottages over a number of years. However this owner insisted that our use of the hot tub no more than an hour a day for 3 days had caused problems resulting in a charge of 240 being deducted from my deposit. She insisted that we had not showered we had and this led to cloudy water. She also said that there is no need for daily maintenance or chemical checks for a hot tub. Other properties we've rented with hot tubs have been checked regularly during our stay to avoid any issues. I had no redress as she already had my money and clearly exploited the situation.

We had a very enjoyable time at Malt Barn with our family. There was plenty of space for our group of 8 adults and five children. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of outside space, which wasn't clear from the listing. It also didn't say that there is a country park only a short walk away. We had a warm welcome at the Masons Arms where the landlord introduced us to the local game of Aunt Sally fun for both adults and children. There were inevitably a few minor niggles. For example, lids for several saucepans were missing and the popup plugs in the bath and one wash basin didn't work. Overall though, the Malt Barn is very well equipped and maintained, and the area around is very pleasant with lovely views. In May the hawthorn in bloom is impressive

A lovely house, lots of room for 8 people. Very warm, a bit too warm in the lounge when we were all in there! The hot tub was a lovely bonus but the chlorine was a bit of a problem for our eyes and because it was cold outside leaving the door open was not an option. Perhaps some kind of ventilation or being able to open a window would help. But overall it was a lovely stay and would certainly book again.

A clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation ideal for a large group.

Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children. The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs. The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting. Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops. The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
