About Hawthorn Cottage

The surrounding area is a haven for keen walkers, with easy access to long-distance routes such as the Mortimer Trail and the Severn Way, as well as the beautiful countryside and commons of the Clee Hills. After a long walk, refuel in Oreton’s friendly village inn.

Alternatively, head into the picturesque market town of Cleobury Mortimer (5 miles), where you’ll find a great range of independent eateries. The town also has some fascinating specialist shops to potter around, and hosts aa monthly farmers’ market.

After a spot of retail therapy, enjoy a tranquil walk along the River Rea. Nearby attractions include Ludlow Castle, the National Trust’s Berrington Hall, and the West Midlands Safari Park, all within 15 miles.

Step inside the detached holiday retreat, into a small porch area that’s perfect for storing all your outdoor attire. From here, move through to the bright, spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, which has neutral decor, wooden floors, and fabulous bi-fold doors leading to the garden.

Unwind here, after a busy day, stretched out on one of the sofas with your favourite programme on the Smart TV. In one corner is a sleek kitchen area with glossy units and everything needed for a self-catering holiday.

Rounding off the space is a dining table to seat everyone. Upstairs, you’ll find two elegant double bedrooms, as well as a stylish family bathroom.

Outside, to the rear of the property, is an enclosed garden with a patio area, outdoor furniture, and a BBQ. You’ll also have your own, private hot tub to sink into after an action-packed day of exploring.

Locally renowned for the Sheep Steeple chasing and daily goat races this is a really unique family attraction that the kids will love.  You can really get hands on with the farm animals with the animal handling sessions and you can have a go at teaching the parrots to talk!  The crazy craft cabin will keep even the most creative entertained with pottery and painting amongst other things. When you are in need of a rest head for the The Hungry Shepherd Tea Room where you can enjoy a bite to eat and children can burn even more energy in the indoor play area.
