The Larches Reviews

I have stayed at a number of cottages with Sykes but The Larches was the best so far. Very clean and comfortable with everything that was promised and needed. A delightful peaceful atmosphere I would gladly return to. Even with a poor weather week I would have stayed longer
Lovely location with the outdoor space totally fenced off for our dog to enjoy. The Larches was spotlessly cleaned, comfortable and warm. We loved our time here and would definitely recommend it.
Wow! An amazing property. Spotlessly clean, attractively decorated and furnished, and really well equipped. It has everything you could need for a perfect stay. As others have said, the view out of the massive French doors is fabulous. So good in fact that we found it difficult to venture too far away! The cottage is open plan so feels airy and spacious but is cosy and warm too. The king size bed was really comfortable. The owners private woodland was wonderful for daily walks and we spotted dear every time. The location is so quiet and peaceful and the lack of light pollution means night skies are stunningly starry. I know Im rambling but I cant praise the Larches highly enough. We did visit some of the many picturesque villages and towns within an easy drive away, the highlight being Ludlow. Book the Larches, you wont be disappointed and we would love to return.
William
Modern, clean spacious property with a great view through the patio doors to the outdoor patio area, garden, and beyond. Excellent rural location and the bonus of a private woodland walk courtesy of host Steve, really handy for walking the dog. Nice touch with welcome pack too. Would book again.
Angela
Lovely place to stay. Peaceful and hidden away. Garden is super safe for even the smallest dogs to enjoy. Lovely hosts always ready and happy to help.
Sharon
We really enjoyed our stay at the larches,it was our 2nd time there already booked again for next year,my dogs elsa & maisie loved running around in such a large garden, highly recommended to anyone looking to stay there. ..
This is our 2nd visit to The Larches. It is a great cottage in a brilliant location. So modern, clean and comfortable. Everything you could need for an 'escape to the country'. Secure garden for our Border Terrier. I am sure we will be going back for a 3rd visit. Marian, Col and Angus
Such a lovely property spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable sofas and beds, and in such a beautiful location. The garden was amazing for the dog and the log burner was perfect after wet and windy autumn walks. Thank to the hosts, we would love to return one day soon.
This was our second stay at The Larches in six months. We absolutely love it. Louise and Steve have prepared and maintained the place beautifully, inside and out, and it suits us and our dog perfectly. We will certainly be back agin.
Steven
Great accommodation,will definitely recommend
Amazing pet friendly property which includes access to extensive woodland. Cleanliness and facilities at the property are outstanding.
Such a lovely, pet friendly lodge. Louise and Steve were extremely friendly and helped us with everything we needed. The place was sparkling clean, and well equipped with everything we could need. The surrounding area is just pure green, calmness and beauty. We will definitely come back!

What a beautiful week we've had. The Larchers is spotlessly clean. The dogs loved the garden, very peaceful place I'm sure we will be returning
Angela
We love the peace and quiet here so much and it is so safe for our small dog Colin to wander around without supervision. Time stands still here and life slows down.
Immaculately prepared and very comfortable accommodation. The location is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday. Steve and Louise were also very welcoming and hospitable.
The Larches is a lovely, welcoming property, which is set in beautiful surroundings. The views from the lounge and bedroom are stunning. It was a wonderful relaxing stay. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and has everything we needed for our stay. It was nice to meet Steve and Louise, who popped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. We are looking to book a return visit.

What a fantastic place to stay. It was our second time here and still so lovely & quiet and spotlessly clean, all the equipment you need for a restful break. The owners called in to say hello lovely couple and thank you for the wine and cakes etc, very kind of you. We cannot praise this property enough, we will be back again.
We had a fantastic week at The Larches, the cottage was spot on clean and roomy, kitchen was excellent and so was the shower. Really quiet relaxing holiday. The garden was for perfect for our 2 whippets who loved running around free. The woods nearby were an added bonus to walk around. Some great places to visit nearby. The best cottage we have stayed in.

A wonderful holiday home, in a beautiful location. The property was spotless and we had all the amenities we could need or want. We found it to be very comfortable and cosy too. We are already considering booking again! One minor suggestion, its quite dark when emptying the bins outside at night. The LED security light, while powerful, doesnt quite wrap around the corner so its difficult to see. I would also suggest a light near the gate for when returning at night for the same reason.
Amazing property and location, very clean with everything you need, very quiet ... Amazing property and location, very clean with everything you need, very quiet and tranquil place, only downside for me was the grassed area was not as big as it looks in the pics and the stone drive was a bit harsh on my dogs paws, but the wooded area was great for them to explore
Sandra
Excellent holiday cottage everything you need. Quiet and secluded.
A lovely property, very well appointed, great underfloor heating and well maintained. The hosts, Steve and Louise, were very attentive and provided a much appreciated welcome pack. Our only minor gripe was the lack of a dryer. We arrived on the back of Storm Darragh which meant a lot of mud everywhere we went with our two large dogs but, we still had plenty of exercise and enjoyed the hospitality of Clun and Bishops Castle. The wildlife is a little more restricted in winter but we spotted a number of red kite and buzzards and relaxed to the wonderful sound of the owls in the woods at night. We would recommend The Larches without any hesitation.
Angela
Fantastic place to stay. This was our second visit and every bit as enjoyable as our first. Peace and seclusion, what more could you want? Lovely couple so friendly and ready to help if required. The garden is securely enclosed and was perfectly safe for our little dog Colin.
I had a lovely chilled week, my dog loved having the woodland to explore and we were blessed with fantastic weather! Cabin had everything I could have asked for. I found the stairs a bit slippy without wearing slippers or shoes. Lovely quiet setting, evenings you can only hear the owl and we had dear rutting when I stayed. Will be back again 100.
Fabulous cottage. Very modern and clean. Great location. Very quiet and secluded. Very secure garden for dogs. Loved the area. Owners very helpful and friendly. Would like to go back again.
We could not have asked for a better stay. The property was better than the pictures show. Beautiful place set in beautiful grounds. The owners were lovely as well. This will most definitely sit on our favourites list to visit again. We simply did not want to return to the real world. Very sad to leave.
Joanne
5 accommodation, spotlessly clean with all the comforts of home. Very warm and cosy. Very secluded on the edge of a forest with a fantastic secure garden which our dogs loved chihuahuas. The owners live close by and call in to introduce themselves and check everything is ok, Steve was very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife. We had a wonderful week and will be back.
Sharon
We really enjoyed our stay at the larches well fenced off for my 2 dogs 2 run around. Highly recommended to anybody staying here with your dog
First we would like to thank Stevie and Louise for the lovely starter pack. The bed was very comfortable and neighbours were very friendly when you see them. Quite remote but very peaceful. The only suggestion I would make is if ladies have long dresses it needs a different type of hanging facilities, clothes hangers not suitable for long dresses. Dog enjoyed the garden very secure. Would definitely recommend.
Jacqui
Superb holiday cottage in the woods everything as described and perfect for our family holiday and our dog. We had a small problem with the heating which the owners immediately responded to. Lovely owners who were so helpful and welcoming. Welcome pack appreciated . Many thanks
Louisa
Lovely property in a wonderful setting. Lodge had everything we needed, was clean & well maintained. Outside space is stunning and garden is dog proof as long as you don't have a jumper. Lots of wildlife to watch as you sit outside and relax. We had a great stay and as we love that area, are likely to look to stay again in future.
Great stay again. Everything we could need was provided. Thankyou
Mirjam
Very nice cottage in a quiet and beautiful place.
If you're looking for somewhere to totally relax, but has enough interesting places to visit with a relatively short distance, The Larches ticks all the boxes! A fabulous week in this property, very quiet and very well appointed throughout, everything we needed for a week chilling out. Property was spotless and the grounds also clean, owners easily contactable and called in early on to make sure all was in order.
Beautifully modern cottage set in a quiet peaceful area. We loved our stay, everything you need has been thought of. Bed is comfy, shower is good and most of all the view is amazing. The 2 dogs loved the freedom of the outside area. A very relaxing stay.
Our second visit to Larches. Very well maintained in last 10 months and location remains perfect
Wow, what a find, the property is situated in its own woodland, a perfect place to relax. Its modern and very tastefully decorated, we couldn't have asked for anything better. We were surrounded by beautiful countryside made even better by the brilliant weather we had. It was very dog friendly and our little Westie loved the freedom of the large garden. The owners came to see us when we first arrived, so it was nice to meet them. Would love to visit again as we think the scenery in the fall would be spectacular.
Anthony
Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Access to woodland so great for our dog. Can highly recommend A
