The Olde Cow House Reviews

Amazing place to stay with all the Family & children enjoyed everything too. Facilities was great Amazing pool go karts tennis court Gym Feeding animals Play room Walks WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. 5STAR. We hope to be back soon. SEAN & Jackie Beeston.
Samantha
The cottage was beautiful, clean and very homely. It was lovely that children toys were provided in the accommodation and it was only a short walk to see pigs, horses and chickens. The outdoor play area and go karts were great fun and our children loved it. All cooking equipment was available which was very helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable, log fires the wood was provided. The shower in the middle bedroom wasnt great the shower head needs replacing, which is an easy fix. We would have loved to have used the pool, however when booking we didnt read that you had to pay extra to use it and that under 4s arent allowed in there. Feel it would have been more appropriate to include the price of the pool in the accommodation price and then allocate a booking form for people to book their 90 minute slots. The book looked amazing and its ashame we didnt get to use it. The pool didnt affect our stay and we really enjoyed it!
Kimberly
Fantastic property for both adults and children. All needs catered for. Great facilities in a beautiful area. House was clean and warm with multiple bathrooms.
Christopher
Generally we all enjoyed the week, especially the children on the trikes. A very nice place to stay. Good scenery and walks available locally. Towels and kitchen sudries are supplied not itemised in the listing at all. Only 1 egg cup for 11 guests! 1 toilet with water hammering not repaired whilst we were there. Confusion over cost and time available for the pool prices have increased since listing created but not changed. Allways some little things to niggle, but a very enjoyable week.
Outstanding
Both the cottage and amenities were superb. Sara, the host made us feel super welcome and we will definitely be returning.
A very sensitive and successful conversion of a listed former agricultural building to holiday accommodation. Very comfortable inside with all the facilities and utilities that are specified and that one would need take your own bath towels. As a very minor criticism, one double bedroom and its ensuite are somewhat cramped, but given that in a conversion of this order not everything can be perfect, we quite readily accepted this. As a family of 11 with 5 grandchildren of varying ages we were very impressed with the range of games and activities that were provided for on site. Also, as most people live in fairly 'ordinary' homes, as the three households in our family do, it was an exhilarating experience to reside in a building of such antiquity and character, and with such lovely surroundings. It was expensive for the two days we were there, but self catering holiday accommodation for 11 with four separate double bedrooms and bathroom facilities is not that easy to find, and as this was for a significant family celebration, we bit the bullet. Absolutely no regrets and very happy memories for all.

A beautiful and spacious converted barn. Extremely well equipped and Sara could not have been more helpful when we had small issues with two of the showers. Everything was fixed and sorted immediately. She was also extremely informative about places of interest to visit. The indoor pool is a brilliant facility and was very much appreciated by all in our party during the recent heatwave week. Feeding our fruit, vegetable and bakery waste to the potbellied pigs, pygmy goats and chickens was a daily delight. The countryside is stunning and there are masses of places of interest to visit.
What a great place, exactly what we was after. Lots to do and beautiful countryside surroundings for walks and to escape the city life. We had everything we needed. The pool was clean, and a great system. We will be coming back to this lovely place. Thank you x
Excellent host and facilities. Children loved the play areas and walks. The pool was excellent, but we felt too expensive when you have children to occupy as well. Also disappointed that got bumped off a booked swimming session because they wanted to accommodate a bigger group.
Very enjoyable stay. Owners were welcoming the barn was lovely and a perfect place to spend time with family.
Wonderful family trip!
We visited to celebrate our Dad?s 60th birthday from across the country. The house was lovely and extremely welcoming. It was spotless and very well equipped with all the essentials. Loved the original features and it was just so cosy in the cold winter months. The surrounding farm is idyllic and the farm animals were the highlight of each day for the children (along with the pony grooming). The facilities were excellent and the swimming pool was a firm family favourite. The host went out of her way to make our visit extremely special and we can?t thank you enough. Wonderful place to stay and you won?t be disappointed!!!
We had a great time and would like to thank Sara Jones for her help and advice on what to do in the area. The facilities, tennis court, games rooms, swimming pool were impressive and the kids made full use of them The property was presented really well and wed recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Fantastic break in Shropshire. The barn conversion was beautiful and extremely clean. We were catered for in every way possible and the host was extremely accommodating. Beautiful surroundings with great facilities and lots for us all to do as a family. The perfect place for a special family weekend.
Deborah
We found the Olde Cow House extremely comfortable and spacious, with everything that we needed for our stay. The Pool and Gym were an added bonus, which we made full use of. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a lovely quiet place to getaway for a break. Sara Our host was always happy to help with and small problems that popped up.
We have just returned from our stay at The Olde Cow House and what an amazing week we all had. The surroundings are beautiful and there's lots of places to visit that are not too far away. The owner was always on hand when we needed help and we were made to feel very welcome. It's a fantastic place to take children with the play area, go carts, animals and then there's all the farm to explore. There were even toys, books and colouring bits in the house itself which was so helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here and would not hesitate to go back.
Family holiday
This is a wonderful holiday destination. Exceeded expectations. The house is much larger than the photos portray. There is every conceivable convenience and equipment. Every bedroom has an ensuite or own bathroom. Beds very comfy. Lounge area warm, cozy and comfortable. Great location with great views. The spa was the icing on the cake. Such a luxury, beautifully done. Host very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back.

The extra cost of spa facilities was very expense and although it was an amazing facility at 10 per person per day we were a party of 11 people this would of cost us 770 for the week . I would suggest a discount for the cottages or one off fee for the duration of your stay
Darren
I have stayed here twice now and can fully recommend for both families and groups too as it caters for all. First time I stayed here I was with my partner and her family and there are so many amazing walks and facilities to have a well deserved break. This time I come with a few of the lads for a little break and equally we had a super time. They have a tennis court, table tennis, swimming pool amongst other games and activities. Overall what a superb place! Highly recommend and Sara the owner is so accommodating and lovely! Cant wait to come back again soon
Beautiful barn with excellent facilities. The host, Sara was very welcoming and couldnt have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend and intend on returning.
Thank you
We had a fantastic weekend at The Olde Cow House to celebrate my 40th birthday with family The house was lovely, clean and very comfortable. The location is beautiful and the children enjoyed the animals and walk in the countryside. We had a lovely time in the swimming pool and games room. There was lots to do in the surrounding area. Thanks again!
Fantastic accommodation and great hosts. Really enjoyed the weekend.
Rachel
A fantastic place for a holiday. The Old Cow House is lovely and comfortable, supplied with everything you need. The owners even supply cookies and fresh flowers to greet you. This is our second visit as we love it so much.

Had a stag weekend here and it was brilliant, games rooms , enough beds, plenty of rooms, tennis court , pool Photos dont do the place justice Pub 1. 7 miles away Excellent 5

Sara the owner was extremely helpful and available. Our first visit to Shropshire was wonderful. The olde cow house was very well equipped, efficient and ideal for a family holiday with two girls under 4years. It was like home from home with all the benefits of living on a farm.
Duncan
The house was absolutely stunning, really well thought out, lots of toys for the children, spare wellies for those who forgot, wellequipped kitchen which had a jar of homebaked cookies which were delicious. This is a perfect holiday for families, so much to do just within the compound, there are two games rooms, swimming pool, spa, lots of gocarts that even adults can ride with babies on lap, pigs that can be fed from kitchen scraps and chickens that lay eggs that we collected to make an omelette with and a decent walk around the farm which is ideal to take the dog on. We had a great time staying here and would recommend to anyone and would definitely consider visiting again. Thank you
The cottage was excellent, including the facilities. Everything we needed was provided and the owner rang me the week before to check we had all the information we needed. Only downside was the price and time restrictions for using the pool area. We knew this on booking but it did feel expensive for such a limited time.
Amazing Christmas stay
Booked quite last minute after a huge search for a home to suit our tastes and needs for the Christmas week. We wanted something with beams, knocks and crannies, odd sofas and chairs and that country look. This house has it all. The last 10 minutes of the drive the road is single track and the with the rain, meeting a car even with a passing space was scary especially with the weight of Christmas in the car. Got stuck once and lost once! This home is worth the drive. I don?t think the pictures do the place justice for eg we worried if we would all fit around the table for Christmas lunch as it looked small but yes it?s huge with lots of room. All rooms en-suite, with Tv?s. There?s a fire but lots of radiators and it was a mild Xmas this year, but we did turn the heating off and use the fire a few times. The children-3 teenage, one under 10 loved the games room, and go carts in fact so did the adults! So much to do, a swimming pool to hire out for your own private use, pigs to feed, chickens to collect eggs from, tennis court children?s play area, swing ball, pool, fussball, a piano, table tennis, carols round the tree, a lovely local pub which is walkable to and dog friendly. This place is perfect for every trip away. We had an amazing Christmas Thank you to the owners
Karensa
The location is remote and can be difficult to get to if the weather is bad or if you are not a confident driver as its aingle track for the last 1015 minutes. The arrival is worth the journey. This home is stunning and made the perfect Christmas week.
Penelope
Really good accommodation for a big family and lots of space. We had a brilliant time and were made to feel very welcome.
The Olde Cow House is an excellent cottage beautiful, spacious conversion, comfortably furnished and very wellequipped. Highly recommended.
Angela
Sarah the owner is very helpful and the farm is perfect for a family holiday. Our family ranged from 14 months 63 years of age and everybody had a fabulous time.
Fantastic place to stay
Stayed here for a week towards the end of february this year. The property itself was amazing, so much character, and really well equipped, it has everything you need for a stay. Swimming pool was really good, and there's plenty of other activities for the kids, such as go-karts, tennis, and exploring the farm. The location is excellent; rural enough to be very peaceful, yet within easy access of Shropshires many attractions, making this property a perfect base to explore the local area.
Great family facilities on site, kept the kids occupied for hours. Owners very friendly. Would like to have used the pool but seemed a little expensive, for the price would have thought use would be included even for just one session. Would highly recommend staying here.
Had a lovely stay at The Olde Cow House, the barn conversion was beautiful and rooms very spacious for our family of 13. They have thought of everything for the guests with including childrens toys, baby walkers, toys, films, board games etc being within the home. We managed to see a couple of the lambs being born which made our holiday alongside with being able to fully get involved with the farm life in collecting our own eggs from the chicken pen in a morning and feeding the pigs daily also. The only downside to this holiday was how costly the swimming pool and gym facilities were. At 10 a head including very young children is very expensive especially when you have such a big family and the slot being only 2 hours at that price. Unfortunately this was the only downside to our stay. Overall we had a lovely week away and would definitely return in the future.
Nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and her family. they made us feel at home and it was an exceptional time. being my 60th birthday could not have been any better
