The Anchorage @ Nables Farm

We had a wonderful stay, it was lovely and perfect for our family getaway. The cottage comfortably accommodated all 10 of us. The facilities were excellent and had everything we needed during our stay. It also has lovely views and is a very peaceful area. We had a fantastic time and would happily recommend this cottage to others, we would love to return in the future.

Me and my friends recently had a wonderful stay for my hen do. The house was the perfect accommodation for us with plenty of space, and we especially loved the games room and pool table! The house was well equipped with everything we needed and we had plenty of logs to fire up the hot tub thank you Martin for helping us when we needed some assistance! Only slight improvement needed is some upgraded equipment in the kitchen such as pots and pans, as we could see they were getting a bit old and worn out! All in all a perfect stay and location, and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to book a place with a large group.

Spacious and comfortable property for our party of 9. The owner was very helpful, providing us with eggs and unlimited wood for the hot tub and fires. The description says that all beds are made up as doubles, this is not the case, two of the rooms were made up as twins, which is not what we wanted. Several minor niggles dirty placemats, slippery steps to the front door, not enough crockery, cutlery and glassware for 10 people, some Velux windows and radiators not operational, and no oven gloves, all minor things that could easily be fixed to make the property 5 star. We would definitely book again in the hope that some of these issues will have been addressed.

First impressions were great fantastic size and layout with nice decor perfect for our growing family children and grandchildren. We felt instantly relaxed and there were plenty of breakout spaces. The owner quickly responded to our request for firelighters for the hot tub. Unfortunately there were lots of things that let it down which would be quick to remedy. It's noted that some of these things have been stated in the property guestbook, and in online reviews about another property onsite these things have either not been addressed or have been rebuked by the owner. In no particular order the toaster is damaged and therefore dangerous the saucepans and frying pans, whilst plentiful, need replacing we had no choice but to use them but the surfaces on every one of them are scratched and are peeling away they also weren't clean the freezer needs a thorough defrost as is it is thick with discoloured ice the kitchen sink stinks and is surrounded by black mould the washing machine had contained lots of blue bits which ended up on our clothes the tumble drier was a fire hazard the lint had not been cleaned for a very long time I cleaned some but it needs a thorough clean the floors had lots of dirt bits on them, especially in the kitchen area they needed a good clean however, no vacuum cleaner lots of cobwebs in the showers, and from ceilings, just giving it an air of not having been cleaned properly for a good while I do appreciate that houses get these, but there were a lot showers had lots of limescale lots of dust under the beds in the twin room a layer about 2 inches thick came away on the broom hairs on the bed protectors loose bathroom door handle on the first bedroom by the games room stains on the sofas doesn't matter if they are from the cleaners or not they look horrible pool table was very dirty and took ages to clean with sticky tape as there was no vacuum cleaner damage to paintwork, especially near the fireplace in the kitchen just gave an air of the place not being looked after properly These are my honest thoughts based on fact. I do not need the owner coming back to me and justifying them in the manner that they have done to at least one other reviewer. Great space yes, needs a deep clean yes. Value for money given the above poor.

We booked The Anchorage for a family get together for my mums birthday and it was absolutely perfect! The house has so much space and the dining table comfortably sat our entire party. The hot tub was delightful and our group really enjoyed that the house has a pool table. Also, my nephews loved going for a walk on the farm to see the cows, very cute! Overall the house is beautiful and its the perfect place for a getaway in the countryside.

An extremely spacious house for 10 guests. Five lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, with all but one en suite. Games facilities and hot tub enthusiastically used by the younger members of the party, especially the pool table. Kitchen generally fine, but cooking Christmas lunch for 10 was a bit of a challenge with limited equipment eg. a lack of roasting tins. One of the heaters in the kitchen was not working, but unlimited logs for the wood burner kept us warm and cosy. Martin was an excellent host.

What an amazing fabulous property to spend a few days in with your friends and family. The whole place was very clean, the rooms were large and beautifully decorated. The beds were really comfortable and the linen spotless. The whole layout of the property was magnificent! The only small issue, to be expected on a farm, was a constant very small amount of flies, but to be honest you dont notice them too much.

The house was lovely, lots of space and the bedrooms were to a high standard. The kitchen was well equipped and is a great space for a large gathering. The unlimited wood for the fires and the hot tub was great too.

The Anchorage is the best property we have stayed at for our annual friends weekend away. It is situated in a beautiful spot surrounded by countryside. Lots of outside space and seating which unfortunately we couldnt use due to wet weather. The inside of the house is very modern, bright and beautifully decorated throughout. Great facilities with each bedroom having its own bathroom. We would happily come back to stay again.

The Anchorage is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in! It is spacious, clean and just as the listing describes. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of spare cupboard space for provisions. The extra table in the kitchen space was perfect for a jigsaw! The lounge was a lovely space to relax or watch television in. The pool table was a great hit with everyone. A separate snug with computer games and sofa was a bonus extra space. The bedrooms were spacious and clean, all but one has an ensuite. It was a great house for accessibility with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and easy access to kitchen, dining room and lounge. We used the hot tub just once as the weather wasn't great, it was fun to get the fire going but does take a couple of hours to get the temperature up. The only thing we were missing was some oven gloves for the oven! A fabulous house to stay in, would recommend.

Beautiful house in a wonderful setting. Such a treat to see the bulls grazing whilst having your morning coffee or to enjoy the late afternoon sun in the hot tub. So spacious, the 10 of us were never cramped, and was perfect for 5 couples as all bedrooms are of a high level, so no one felt they drew the short straw with room allocation.

A group of 8 cyclists, this is our second stay at the Anchorage. It's perfectly situated for exploring the beauty of Wiltshire. The house is warm, comfortable, and wellequipped. Returning to the hot tub is great, even if you do have to wait 3 hours for it to warm up, as long as you know you can factor that in.

What a sensational venue, location, decor, facilities, space inside and out. Martin was so helpful.This property has created lasting family memories znd we will definitely return. Hot tub, TV room and brilliant dining areas.

Overall we had a great time and the size and facilities at the property were ideal for our party of 8. Having said that maybe the summary page could be reviewed and updated, regarding the free use of the EV charger, which would have avoided the various question asking for clarification of this before the visit, and removal of the table tennis table which wasn't available. The only other concenus of our group was better info on the hob andor removal of the child lock would have avoided a telecon to assist, and a maintenance check between visits would help to ensure the property was ready for the next visitors, re loose door handles on some rooms, damaged outside umbrella and shower to hot tub broken. I know this seems like a lot but these are only small improvements on what is otherwise a great property.

An absolute gem of a property. Clean, spacious and well thought out a great place for large groups or families to spend time together. A warm welcome and the hot tub was a great addition. Thank you will be back.

The accommodation is stunning and the location didnt disappoint! Martin was so friendly and helpful, explaining how to make the hot tub work and showing us walks. We are planning to return as soon as we are able and have recommended it to several friends already. The only constructive feedback we could give is that a new can opener was needed although that could have been user error on our part!.

This house is amazing, it's huge, it's beautifully decorated and was perfect for our 3 generations of family. Probably the best house we've stayed in tbh. The pool table and wood fired hot tub no chemicals were both a big success with the teens. We enjoyed the outside sofas and the sociable open plan kitchendiningsitting area. Everyone had their own bathroom, all the bedrooms were big doubles so no arguments. It was perfect. We enjoyed walking round the farm and watching the chickens. A lot of effort has been put into the house and gardens and it was nice to see all the bulbs and blossom. It was peaceful but a couple of mins in the car to shops and plenty of places to visit in the area. Martin was super friendly and nice to know he was nearby should we need anything. Thank you Martin and team. We hope to return.

Just a couple of things really. Would be great if there was some Anti Bacterial spray to wipe down kitchen worktops & a hand towel for the kitchen.. Also kitchen floor seemed slightly dirty, only noticed it as grandchildren were wearing g socks. Needs a thorough steam clean. Also not sure about all the toilets but certainly in the bedroom.we stayed in. Under the rim in the toilet basin was a bit yellow looking, needs a good scrub. Other than that it was a fabulous stay

A lovely long weekend with the family. Plenty of space and bathrooms. The house was huge yet it was toasty warm and a plentiful supply of logs. The kids adults babies loved the pool table. It was a great rainy day option. Would highly recommend if we stay again we'd hope for better weather

Lovely spacious and comfortable property with plenty of room for a party of nine. Owner very friendly and obliging. A few minor niggles some radiators didnt work, not enough cutlery, no egg cups, pool table cues with no tips so unuseable. Instructions on how to use the hob would have saved us a lot of frustration! We didnt use the hot tub it seemed like too much hassle. But we really enjoyed our stay and would happily rebook.

Well presented property with lovely views. With 10 people sharing there was plenty of room. Bedrooms were spacious too. The set up in the property was well thought out and decorated well too. Love the chandeliers in the lounge. Lovely area for walking and local pub was approx 1 mile away, The New Inn. Roast dinner on Sunday was well worth it but suggest booking as was busy. Malmesbury is a short dive away and well worth a visit, follow the walking trail. Maps from Tourist information. Only negative I was property could do with a few more baking trays for cooking. However, would rent property again and easily recommend it to others. Had a great weekend with friends.

We absolutely loved the property. Warm, spacious, great facilities. The beds were comfortable and linen and towels good quality. The pool table was a hit and the Smart TV. The environment is lovely if you like countryside, peace & quiet and privacy. We gave Martin direct feedback with regards to some cleaning feedback. The bin housing and bins were not as clean as we would have liked. Would definitely recommend.

Ur party of 9 were very pleased with The Anchorage at Nables Farm. Which we found very spacious. There were however some minor points that the owner should rectify or be aware of. Top oven not working owner informed, lack of usable toilet brushes, we were disappointed that the table tennis table was out of use and the hot tub wood burner should be fired up at least 3 hours before use. Would also have been useful to have more information about the property facilities and the area including surgeries and emergency service.

Beautiful property. There were 9 of us over 3 generations. I'd like to add that one if our group is a wheelchair user and she had access to the majority of the house. The only part of the house unaccessible were the 3 bedrooms on the lower ground so absolutely no problem whatsoever. Martin was also extremely accommodating when we had to hire some extra mobility aids to the property, ensuring he was there to receive the items before we arrived. We had a wonderful 2 weeks. The hot tub and the pool table were brilliant. I'd highly recommend this property.

Well appointed property with excellent air pump system providing good general consistent comfort, good showers, and comfortable beds. Hot tub a challenge but welcome when it reached suitable temperature. improvements would consist of basic welcome pack milk,bread etc ,coffee machine,replacement of many chipped plates, and info. folder.

Wonderful place to stay, a lovely spacious accommodation, light and airy, with a huge kitchen diner perfect for entertaining or feeding a large family. The beds are comfortable, there are lots of bathrooms and the loungesnooker room is great and the snug a fab hideaway. The patio area was gorgeous in the sunny weather and the hot tub a bonus. Plus a helpful and accommodating host.

Brilliant weekend, huge thanks to the hosts for making us so comfortable. Its a beautiful and spacious property, and we are very much hoping we can come back!

The Anchorage was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely return. The host Martin was very helpful and answered all of our questions. Myself and my partner went with our grown up children and their partners and they all loved the pool table. The kitchen facilities were fantastic everything we needed was there. Thank you Martin for helping make our holiday great.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. There are just a few basic items missing from the kitchen baking trays, measuring jug, draining rackand tongs. Definitely need a bowl which fits in the sink correctly! We also were short of coasters to use whilst sat away from the table and in the bedrooms for the morning cuppa. Also, there wasnt a chair in three of the bedrooms so no where to sit to put your footwear on. We had a couple of maintenance issues but these were dealt with swiftly by the owner. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The Anchorage was an ideally located place for exploring Wiltshire. We were made to feel very welcome by Martin and thank you for the tray of eggs. The house was spacious, very comfortable and wonderfully furnished in a quiet and peaceful location. We appreciated the outdoor space with all the seating for relaxing or eating together. We all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday and would love to come back some time.

We absolutely loved the Anchorage & it suited our family perfectly . We were lucky to have gorgeous weather for much of our stay & really enjoyed the gorgeous outside space & wonderful sunsets . Beds were really comfortable & the sociable living space was perfect for a family get together . Our host Martin was very kind & brought us wonderful eggs such a treat . What a beautiful place to stay and would not hesitate to return or to tell friends about the place. Martin was a lovely host and so many eggs it was fab. The weekend went too quick as so much we still could have done .

The photos don't do the property justice, it was far better than expected and has a real wow factor. Perfect for larger groups as the rooms are so spacious allowing groups to be in the room doing different things but feeling inclusive the pool table was a great bonus. All the bedrooms were comparable which went down well with everyone. Location is very quiet and Martin was so helpful throughout our stay, especially sorting out the hot tub for us. Overall a great place to stay.

This is a great property set in the countryside but within easy reach of Bath and Bristol, and good places to walk, e. G. Avebury, Uffington, Castle Combe and more. What is special about this property is that even with nine people it never felt crowded. The pool table and hot tub were very welcome!

Stunning property loved it! We had a wonderful holiday at The Anchorage. The property is amazing, so much space and light and extremely well fitted out to very high standard. We were greeted by Martin the owner who could not have been more helpful, and provided us with a tray of fresh organic eggs from the farm which were voted the best we have tasted. A lovely touch. The kitchen diner is very spacious and airy. The dining table seated all of us comfortably. Martin made us twin beds where needed, the beds were super comfy and the bathrooms extremely well appointed. The pool tablelounge was great too and as mentioned in another review has the most gorgeous chandeliers. The gardens and views from the property are spectacular. The utility room and washer and dryer were incredibly useful especially with two little ones in our party. The logfired hot tub was great too. Thanks for a brilliant stay. Highly recommend The Anchorage, we will be returning and indeed have already booked another visit!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The property provided everything that was needed to make our stay a very memorable one. We were welcomed by the owner on arrival and made to feel extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived, and he gave a tray of eggs as a welcome giftWould have preferred a tray of lager!! We would highly recommend this property to anyone who is thinking of booking it. Cant wait to stay here again.

A truly amazing property . Excellent facilities .Very comfortable bedrooms.Beautiful open plan kitchen with every thing you need to cook for a large group .Pool room was excellent we throroughly enjoyed pool competitions .Woodfired hot tub was great fun ,if a little hot, but that was our doing .The owner was very helpful and friendly and gave us delicious eggs for breakfast.Large well equipped garden.Attention to detail in every way.I cannot fault this property.

Lovely house. Great layout of bedrooms. Facilities were fantastic, we loved the hot tub and the pool table. Washing machine and tumble dryer were a real bonus, we came home with lots of clean clothes instead of lots of washing. Plenty of parking. Loads of space for all of us to spread out and not be on top of each other. Would recommend to all my friends.

We had a lovely time staying here over New Years for a couple of days . House was gorgeous, very spacious for the kids and we loved playing pool on the pool table! Hot tub was great! Overall we had the best time thank you xxx
