Cuckoo Pen Cottage Reviews

Beautiful cottage with fantastic decoration and fittings, beds very comfortable, I have a dodgy hip and never had any issues. The kitchen has the best equipment we have ever had in a cottage with an air fryer, slow cooker and even a food mixture should you be in the mood to bake a cake. Fantastic views with lovely secure garden and the hot tub was a big hit. The only thing I would say is take great care when driving up the lane to the cottage as there are some big potholes.

Nicola welcomed us and quickly showed us around and checked that we were happy with everything. She was very attentive and responded quickly to any anything we messaged her about. This very large property was lovely with beautiful scenery all around us. We loved the hot tub which Nicola checked everyday advising us of when she would be there. All bedrooms were lovely and the en suite bedroom was absolutely stunning. Perfect for a 60th Birthday celebration.
Loved the house, stayed here as a group for my 40th birthday Location amazing and house had everything we needed. Loved the hot tub

Wow what a beautiful house in the most stunning setting with the most wonderful ... Wow what a beautiful house in the most stunning setting with the most wonderful views you could imagine this house is so spacious and has everything you could possibly want and much more its so secluded and private we have celebrated a family Birthday with 8 of us and we could not have found a more perfect property than Cuckoo Pen lodge four spacious double bedrooms , one is ensuite and just the most gorgeous room The hot tub is amazing and the grounds are fabulous and so safe for dogs Nicola is a lovely host spotless clean comfortable house we really didnt want to leave and hope to return for a longer stay next time all in all a real gem of a place in the countryside with views to die for highly recommended thankyou so much Nicola the best house we have ever stayed in highly recommended and perfect hosts missing the country side already and those stunning views that have to be seen to be believed

We booked to stay here with our two young children for the last week of August. The first thing I have to say is that the photos do not do the location or the property justice. The view is genuinely one of the best I have seen in the UK. The house being onnear a working farm meant that we regularly got to see tractors ploughing and animals moving around in the distance, which our children loved. The house itself is beautiful, extremely comfortable and instantly felt homely unlike a lot of holiday cottages we have stayed in. The location was remote but within ten minutes of everything you need. Check in and out was very smooth. We will certainly be back, its the perfect country escape.

We spent four nights at Cuckoo Pen Cottage as a surprise getaway for my wife to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and it became a family moment well never forget. She had no idea that all our children and their partners were secretly joining us, and seeing her face when they arrived was priceless. Our two dogs came along too and absolutely loved the large enclosed garden, giving them plenty of safe space to explore while we all relaxed and enjoyed time together. From the moment we arrived, our host Nichola was incredibly welcoming and friendly. She made sure we were settled, comfortable, and enjoying ourselves, which set the tone for the entire stay. The real star of the holiday was our granddaughter, who filled the cottage with laughter and made the celebration even more special. The cottage itself was immaculate, cosy, and equipped with everything we could have wished for. It felt instantly inviting and perfectly suited to a family gathering of this kind. And the views simply breathtaking. Looking out over the Malvern Hills each day was a highlight peaceful, expansive, and unforgettable. Cuckoo Pen Cottage gave us the perfect setting for a milestone anniversary, precious family time, and memories well treasure forever.
Wow, what a amazing property. We were a party of 7 and the property was very spacious. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Bedrooms were large with stunning views. The kitchen had all the utensils you would need, with plenty of plates, mugs, glasses etc Loads of space in the garden, very dog friendly and fully secured. Hot tub was a bonus and well maintained. Beautiful views and great to view sunrise and sun set. Stunning. Only downside was as mentioned in other reviews, the road leading up to the property is quite long and full of potholes and you have to drive slowly and carefully but this wouldnt put us off as the property is lovely. Would definitely take a trip to Tenby Wells about 15 minutes away by car if you are looking to stock up as it has a large Tesco. If you are looking for a good meal, would recommend the Pembroke House pub also in Tenby Wells, all 7 of us said it was one of the best pub meals we have ever had. Had a great time and would definitely recommend this property
Michelle
Large and beautiful house plenty of space in a gorgeous location. If any queries etc hosts are available living a few doors away very attentive checked on hot tub twice a day . Very close to many attractions Croft castle and Wyre Forest. Ludlow and Leominster not far away. We ate at white lion Ludlow and fountain inn both great home cooked food. The hot tub was an added bonus and with exceptional weather we made the most of the gardens and BBQ. Loved watching the house Martins feeding their babies and the sun sets were amazing ! Could not recommend enough

I had a wonderful short stay at Cuckoo Pen Cottage with friends. Cuckoo Pen Cottage is a lovely, spacious and well presented house, with all the facilities required for a relaxing weekend stay. It benefits from lovely private outdoor space with hot tub, and amazing countryside views.
Sophie
The cottage itself and its surrounding area are beautiful. Great open plan living and dining space to host friends and family with even better outside space with the hot tub being a great addition. The pot holes along the long drive up to the house need to be addressed as these were pretty deep and there were many of them that could do some damage. The kettle could do with being larger as it was more travel size and some plastic cups to use outside especially when in the hot tub would have been useful. Overall a really pleasant stay.

We had a fab time at Cuckoo Pen Cottage. It was a beautiful house, nicely furnished, with plenty of space to spread out, and the hot tub was great, too. Stayed as a group of 5 friends celebrating birthdays. We found the house fine use the full address, not just the postcode is our tip! and Nicola gave us a friendly welcome and farewell when we left as well. It is a 1015 min drive to nearby towns if you want a wander and a coffee out somewhere but you can also take a walk directly from the house on footpaths nearby and there are a few pubs nearby too. Due to the more remote location, there is peace and quiet at the property, and all we could hear were the cows, birds, and occasional tractor which was perfect as we did lots of relaxing and sitting outside. We also managed to get an Indian takeaway delivered to the door from the restaurant in Cleobury Mortimer. We have all said we would return again. Thank you!
Rachel
Really comfortable lovely house that was perfect to celebrate a family members 60th birthday. The house had everything we needed and we had an amazing time.
Beautiful country home. Wonderfully and comfortably decorated included roll top baths, a wood burning fire and of course the hot tub. Perfect for our multi generational family weekend away. The road leading up to the house has quite a lot of large potholes which are difficult to negotiate in a normal car but was OK taken slowly and carefully.
We were a party of 8 celebrating our friends 50th birthday. The communication in the run up to our stay was exceptional. The cottage is simply stunning, spacious, clean and well equipped. The views are beautiful and the hot tub was fabulous and so peaceful. A great place to relax! We were constantly talking about planning our next stay here in the future wouldn't hesitate to return. The oven took a bit of getting used to. Turn it on well in advance of needing to use it. Our only issue was and this has nothing to do with the property or owners but worth a mention! The road access directly to the property is terrible. Dreadful potholes which was made worse for us during heavy rain and a time of local flooding. Small cars will struggle! If you have a good 4x4 you have nothing to worry about! We had the best time there!
Eleanor
Absolutely beautiful house and extremely comfortable. Very helpful host. As not close to amenities would be helpful to have additional bin bags and toilet roll. Or advise these are not in the house so can bring. Would 100 recommend and would love to revisit in the future.

Beautiful house in an unbelievably stunning location. We cannot recommend Cuckcoo Pen Cottage enough, it was absolutely perfect for our small family celebration. Thank you to Jack for being so welcoming and responsive. We would love to come back again.
It's a very nice and comfortable holiday cottage
Everything was spot on, great showers, comfy beds beautiful location and lovely hosts. Oven takes some getting used to, but not a problem when you get the hang of it. Will definitely be looking to return.

Lovely weekend at Cuckoo Pen Cottage. The house and gardens are lovely, and the views stunning. We loved being surrounded by miles of beautiful countryside, cows, sheep and the gorgeous house martins flying about. The host was helpful and friendly. Wed definitely recommend, and would stay again.
Anthony
A lovely place to stay, the views are amazing looking across the hills. Very clean and comfortable. As it is next to a working farm we would see the cows walking up the road for their daily milking. The garden is huge and fully enclosed all the way round so the dog was safe and no worries of him getting out and playing with the cows. Definitely coming back to this picturesque home.
Fantastic stay, great location and lovely hosts.
A great holiday let. Furnished to a very high standard, and in a lovely quiet country setting. Our 2 dogs loved the large fully enclosed garden. Host were great and responded to any enquiry we had. The hot tub was lovely. I would highly recommend
Cuckoo pen cottage We had a family easter break to cuckoo pen cottage and it was fantastic. The host Jack was more than helpful , the house was immaculate and in a stunning setting . It has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to self cater . The bedrooms are all of a good size and the kingsize with ensuite is huge. The beds were super comfy . Would definitely stay again. The only thing about the house is it is in the middle of nowhere I mean top of a hill with only 2 other properties. So pub and shop is a 10 minute drive or if you prefer about a 45 minute walk which isn't the end of the world .
We had an amazing long weekend stay at the Cuckoo Pen, the house was perfect & the location was even better than we could imagine. Even though we had an issue with the wifi being down it didnt impact our stay and Jack was amazing at solving any of our queries!
