Hunters Moon Reviews

We had a fabulous time, beautiful views from the well equipped large kitchen. Evenings were spent around the cosy log fire. The owner made us very welcome and was very approachable.
Joshua
Fantastic space, beautiful views. Loved the really large dining room, fantastic for a group of friends with lots of toddlers around!

We had a beautiful stay at Hunters Moon. Michelle and the team truly went above and beyond to make our trip perfect. They were so accommodating, allowing us to check in early and leave a little later, and they even rescued some of our group from the train station when the snow stopped the taxis from running! To top it off, they even kindly posted back a forgotten Mac charger. The property itself is stunning isolated, peaceful, and set in a picturesque location with incredible views. We stayed during a very cold, snowy spell there was plenty of firewood provided with the option to buy more, which we certainly needed. It is worth noting that the house can get quite cold at night, so it might not be ideal for infants in the winter, but the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. We are so grateful for such a memorable experience and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this beautiful retreat to others.
Wow Hunters Moon was absolutely perfect for our family Christmas of 13 people. The house on arrival was like out of ideal homes
Carrie
We stayed at this beautiful property in Tenbury Wells for our family Christmas weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The location is stunning, peaceful surroundings with amazing views that made the whole stay feel extra special. The house itself was incredibly spacious, with plenty of room for all 12 of us to relax, spend time together and enjoy the weekend comfortably. Every part of the property felt well cared for and thoughtfully set up, making it an ideal place for a large family gathering. We couldnt have asked for a better setting and would happily return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!
Charlotte
This was a perfect place to accomodate 12 of us for a cosy weekend for my birthday the kitchen is huge and it had everything we needed the bedrooms were also a great size with comfy beds and clean bathrooms. We had a slight problem with the heating not being on for long enough it was exceptionally cold that weekend and the owners were able to come and sort for us immediately. A really fantastic property for a relaxing weekend in front of the fire !
Michael
A great weekend. House was perfect size for eight adults, three children and two dogs. As we are all walkers, it is a shame the two public footpaths passing either side of the property are locked off.
We booked for a family celebration of a special lady, the house was perfect for that occasion! The kitchen was ideal for the birthday party, adults and the grandchildren had a lovely time. The house also has fantastic views and we even had a premature fireworks display down the hill somewhere on Saturday night! The owners are very nice people toowe will return!
Jacqueline
Ideal accommodation for our large group of 11. Enough beds, settees and armchairs, huge kitchen table to eat at. Two ovens and hobs made cooking easy for all of us. The house sits on top of a hill with amazing views and beautiful sunsets. Were going back!!!
Great accommodation in a fabulous position with wonderful views. Very well equipped with more than enough equipment, furniture, crockery etc to accommodate our party of 12. Furnishings a little tired in places but perfect for needs. We had a great stay.
Alison
Excellent accomodation to cater for my Mother's 80th birthday. The large table in the large kitchen gave ample room for the 30 to 80 age range. The four ovens took care of the two main cooking slots brilliantly. It sleeps 14 so everyone fitted in and had ample parking for our 5 cars. The views are amazing with walks directly from the house. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack of flowers, cake, eggs & crisps. We had a really fun weekend.
The perfect place for a big group gettogether. Michelle was lovely, and communication was easy. Everything was very clean and usable. We'll definitely be going again, and I'd recommend the house to anyone.
My group & I had a fantastic stay at Hunters Moon. We were a group of 12, with ages ranging from 18 90, and everyone enjoyed the property. Very clean and spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. In a great location too! Would highly recommend.
Amazing house. Michelle was so, so helpful too and very happy for our group of 5 adults, 8 children and a dog to spend 4 days in her lovely home. Literally the only thing that we couldn't find which didn't matter anyway as there was a ban was a hosepipeoutside tap. The kitchen was huge and so so well equipped. The tables inside and out brilliant for entertaining. Loads of bathrooms. Board games in the living room. The photos do not do the view justice either. Such a special find. Thank you.
Rybeka
The house was in a beautiful location with some really nice touches from the host, eggs, milk and a cake were very much appreciated by everyone.
Richard
The property is beautifully furnished and generally well maintained. We noted mould growth on the sealant in our showerground floor bedroom.the lighting in the kitchen extractor hood doesn't function, making a dark area in which to be handling hot utensils
Christine
We had an amazing week at Hunters Moon. We went as a group of sewists and the large table in the kitchen was perfect for us all. The separate lounge and snug also gave us lots of space if we wanted some private time.
This is a lovely warm property that accommodated our extended family of 12 comfortably. Our host was attentive but gave privacy. Nice quiet rural location but with the convenience of a small town and shops with plenty of beautiful places to visit in our weeks stay. We will definitely consider this property again when trying to get the family together.
Hayley
We had a wonderful stay with our friends such a fantastic space the kitchen is amazing! with beautiful views. Kitchen was really well stocked, we had everything we needed were relieved to find a huge fridgefreezer the fire in the lounge was perfect for helping us all feel cosy and warm after cold days out exploring the snug was ideal for the kids to playwatch films together loads of different spaces for us all to hang out. Only comment would be that the double beds werent very comfortable but this was ok for just a couple of nights. Hosts were wonderful at making sure we were ok and everything was working well. Would absolutely go back!
Lovely welcome and beautiful cottage, little bit tired in some areas but nothing that stopped enjoyment. Kitchen is huge and a wonderful social space
We had a fabulous Christmas stay at Hunters Moon. House was lovely and well equipped & was very comfortable. The owner Michelle was very nice & helpful.
Andrew
Think this is the 5th time we have stayed here. A lovely property in a great location, always well looked after and the owners are great. Will probably be back again.
We had a wonderful family holiday at Hunters Moon. The house was lovely and in a peaceful location. The kitchen was fab and provided a base for the entire family to relax and play games. Thank you to Michelle who responded swiftly twice one was our fault and the other a rogue toaster quick replacement was issued. This was much appreciated. The house was great and perfect for a multigenerational family holiday. Lots of rooms for parking and spectacular views. The welcome pack was appreciated, especially the cake! We would thoroughly recommend to other large groups.
The reviews posted for stays in the summer months do not give a realistic picture for a stay in October We arrived at the appointed check in time of 4. 00 pm to a very cold house as the timer was set to come on at 6.00 pm and we could not get the heating turned on until Michelle came much later to show us how to advance the timer Not a very warm welcome Surely the timer should be set for heating to come on a few hours before check in?? Also the description on the main page of the description is incorrect as it notes there are 5 bathrooms whereas there are only 3 shower rooms and one shared family bathroom Possibly the downstairs cloakroom is included as a bathroom which is not correct Also regarding bathrooms, one leaked whenever it was used making a large puddle on the ground floor which was a health hazard When we reported this to Michelle she said it was something she was aware of but there were no immediate plans to fix it until there was a void rental week in December! We had problems with the TV reception and this was not rectified until the third day of our stay A tip for the cleaners is that they should pull out the beds and clean underneath as there is a thick layer of dust under some of them A set of sharp kitchen knives would be useful as none of those provided could cut anything Plenty of wine glasses though and the welcome cake provided was appreciated The view was lovely and attention to the above could realise the full potential of this property
Charlotte
We had a really wonderful stay at Hunters moon for a bit family gettogether. The house was perfectly stocked, including wood for the fire which was much welcome. Michelle was very friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay, high chair and extra towelsbeds. The views outside this property are fantastic, we even did a circular 2 mile walk from the property which was lovely to see the surrounding area. We will definitely consider coming back, and if youre wondering whether to book, you should! The reviews saying the property is cold, it wasnt too bad. The hearing comes on twice daily so far in Sept and this was enough with the fire too, we werent too cold. Kitchen very well equipped with utensils and pans, enough to do a successful roast for 14 people! Big fridge freezer and separate little living roomgames room for younger ones. A perfect home away from home!
Beautiful location and very well equipped house.
Angela
We had a lovely stay with family at Hunters Moon. The rooms were a good size and very useful to have 3 ensuites and a main bathroom with 11 of us staying. The kitchen was lovely and big with a huge table to all sit together for family meals, and was very well equipped with plenty of crockery and pans etc. The views and sunsets were wonderful! The owner, Michelle was very friendly and the cake and other goodies were very welcome.
Matthew
Amazing! Booked Hunters Moon for some 30th birthday celebrations and it couldn't have been more ideal. Large, well equipped kitchen with a BBQ as well and the outdoor space was perfect with amazing views. Michelle was welcoming and incredibly accommodating of all our requests. We would definitely recommend!
Barrie
On our arrival a welcome pack provided cake, crisps, apple juice ,milk and the flowers were a nice touch. The owners were very friendly and dealt with minor problems promptly.Bedding and towels very clean, handwash in each room, A wonderful place for a large familly gathering with splendid views A very well equipped kitchen. The property came up to the usual high standard of a Sykes property.
Just spent three nights as a family of 12 with ages ranging from 10 to 84 at this beautiful property. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom was ideal for anyone not too agile, the other bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and practical and there was plenty of room in the others areas so you never felt on top of each other, The property is well supplied with crockery and cutlery and the dishwasher was very welcome. We were lucky with the weather so sitting outside each evening watching the sunset was nice. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this property.
Lovely property in a great location. Well equipped and comfortable. Helpful owners.
A wonderful family stay at Hunters Moon over Easter. A few points to consider , there are no downstairs doors so toddlers need supervision, and noise travels to the downstairs bedroom. The lounge area requires some tlc, and the communal carpets are tired. The kitchen is the hub of the house , large and bright, with its great large table accommodating all the family. little touches like foil and cling film handy for packed lunches. a lovely cake on arrival. we enjoyed our visit to Ludlow castle and the ester egg hunt. A great but strenuous walk from church Stretton to the waterfall at Carding mill valley. and The Gruffol trail walking route at Queenswood, Hereforshire. Overall a great family gettogether at Huntersmoon
The property was great for our family get together there were 10 of us. Kitchen was very well equipped which was great for our cookschefs. Only thing was it was quite chilly a lot of the time until we got the log burner going in the sitting room. The radiators were only ever warm. I know it was a ground heat recovery system and the weather being so cold may have affected the amount of heat recovered. Luckily there were loads of blankets in the cupboards so we were able to wrap ourselves up. The location was great with an awesome view and a perfect base from which to travel around doing the Tourist thing! All in all would recommend.
A very enjoyable stay and very pleased with all the equipment and comfort which ensured our party had a successful week. Lovely views and a very welcome cake to enjoy when we checked in. Thank you Michelle for making our stay so good.
We've just come back from a 5 night stay to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. We had 10 of us staying and 15 for the day on Saturday. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful and very well appointed house. Michelle was very helpful when we called her with a few questions both before and after we arrived. There's so much space in the house with a lovely large living room and sweet little snug, plus probably the best and largest kitchen table I've ever seen. The garden is totally fenced off with a good strong five bar gate, so we were able to let our dog out to roam freely. There's also a field at the back of it that we could run him off the lead in, although we did check that this was ok first as some of the fields have livestock in them. There's plenty of parking space, we had seven cars parked up. There's lots of games to play, a very well appointed kitchen, a cosy wood burner and plenty of bathrooms, with a down stairs toilet too. We would definitely recommend staying here and if we ever need to organise another family celebration we would certainly consider Hunters moon cottage as a place to do so.
We had a lovely stay at Hunters Moon, with its incredible views. There was 15 of us and there was plenty space in for everyone, especially around the kitchen table. The owner was easy to get hold of and was super helpful with my questions before we came and give us a lovely welcome on arrival. The house is lovely and warm, but I do wish I bought my slippers as the kitchen floor was a bit chilly being tiled! But it was cold February weekend.
Hunters Moon is a farm building which has been converted into a very comfortable and practical home. It is full of character and charm and is perfect for family get togethers as it is so spacious. The property is very well equipped and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend it.
This is the second time weve stayed at Hunters Moon and we absolutely love it. The house and location is gorgeous and Michelle and her family are so welcoming! Well definitely be back again
Richard
A warm comfortable, spacious house. The whole house worked really well for our family group of three generations. The very large kitchen is wellequipped taking the stress out of catering for a party of twelve. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations as well as the welcoming flowers, cake and eggs. The owners, Michelle and Roger, were very helpful, responding immediately to our questions.
Albert
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hunters Moon. The kitchen was great and the large table easily accommodated our party of 11.The bedrooms and bathrooms were all a good size. The view from the house was beautiful and we were lucky enough to see a Red Kite. The weather was rather wet, but we did manage an interesting visit to Ludlow. Hope to visit again sometime.
