Another amazing stay at Black Dog! A wonderful way to spend a relaxing Christmas break. Perfectly located for easy access to windermere and ambleside and some walking trails right on the doorstep. Hot Tub upgraded since our last visit and was the perfect remedy after a long fell walk. Kitchen has everything you need, even for that Christmas Dinner.

We had an absolutely amazing holiday and the accommodation was beautiful, lovely and clean with fabulous homely touches, we would highly recommend to family and friends.

We had an amazing week at The Black Dog Lodge. The location was perfect for many stunning walks but also on the park itself being so close to the lake and the most amazing hot tub views after a long day of exploring. The lodge itself is beautiful, well equipped and our own little black dog loved his stay there also. The finishing touches and little details were really appreciated it really was a perfect week.

Our first time at the lakes and our cabin was perfect for us four really comfy beds piping hot showers well stocked kitchen area living area was spacious and comfy. Outside was dog proof with lovely outdoor furniture the hot tub man came more than once to check it. I would definitely stay in this place again oh and a lovely welcome gift on arrival...one of the best we have stayed in

Finn the black labrador enjoyed his stay in the Black Dog Lodge especially the graveyard bones and his Mum and Dad enjoyed the bubbly and crisps. Will definitely come and stay again soon.

Could not fault this lodge one little bit. The lodge was immaculate inside and out. Location was perfect and it was less than a minute walk to Lake Windermere. The decking outside was so clean and looked brand. Plenty of seating outside that was so comfortable. The hot tub was so nice and was monitored a few times a week. The beds were so comfortable and I slept really well every night. The Lodge had everything you needed. As the Lodge allows dogs in it , you wouldnt know as it was immaculate and smelt really fresh . I cant fault in anyway. If you have dogs or dont have dogs , you will not be disappointed by booking and staying here. 1010 for everything. Cant wait to book and stay next year

The Lodge was exactly as described and the decor was modern & comfortable. The welcome gifts were very thoughtful thank you! We would definitely recommend the White Cross Bay location & Black Dog Lodge we had a lovely break and felt relaxed .

Beautiful cabin and very well equipped. All the beds were very comfy and nicely styled. The cabin is very clean for being dog friendly. On the day of arrival the place was warm and welcoming and a lovely welcome gift which was appreciated by dogs too. The cabin is situated a short walk to main reception and other facilities on the site. Windermere is only two miles away. Would recommend and will be back again.

We stayed at Black Dog Lodge for 4 nights and wow! This is a home away from home, the most tasteful decorated lodge we have stayed in, with excellent facilities and close to the marina. The location was perfect for exploring all local areas Ambleside, Windermere, BownessonWindermere. The lodge was so clean for a dog friendly lodge and we loved our little doggy welcome gift so did Athena

Great cabin with all you need for a good break, very comfortable with a thoughtful welcome pack to greet us on arrival, great location and would happily stay again, if any gripe, would have liked the dishwasher to work but we did eat out every day so other than basics did't phase us and certainly didn't ruin the break in anyway as the lodge has so much going for it, book it up, you wont be disappointed.

Really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was lovely and spotlessly clean. We don't normally stay in dog friendly accomodation as I have a dog allergy our friend was bringing his hypoallergenic dog. and I was a little concerned but I had no problems. The location and the site itself was ideal. We would of liked to have done a bbq but couldn't find anywhere that sold disposable ones due to the fact they are banned in the National park so maybe worth mentioning on info to bring one with you. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Absolutely amazing, well kitted out lodge. We all had such a great time there last week. It really was ike a home from home with everything supplied, and the welcome food and drink was really appreciated. Although not an issue, it would have been better had the jets worked on the hotub but overall a massive 10 out of 10.

Loved this lodge and how dog friendly it was. Had a lovely break away. Couldnt fault anything and will definitely be rebooking to come back.

We had a fantastic week stay in black dog lodge for our honeymoon. The lodge was spotless and has everything you need. The beds and new sofas were super comfortable. It was like a home from home. We were left a lovely gift for us and the dog too. My only recommendations would be to upgrade the hot tub as the jets were very weak, when I reported this to the hot tub man that visited daily he advised its because its an old tub so wont be powerful anymore. Also it would be nice to have a guest bookinformation pack, I like to read these for recommendations of places to visit. It would also be nice if you could pay for early check in, we got married in a near by hotel prior to our stay and we asked if we could pay for early check in and this wasnt an option. We would love to come back again, the lodge is in a nice location very close to the lake! We were very sad to be leaving yesterday.

Lovely lodge in a great location. The dog blanket was a lovely touch alongside the treats. Having an air fryer was a nice touch and we used this every day. Really nice furniture outside on the decking and the hot tub was lovely. Would be happy to book this lodge again.

Lovely touch with the air fryer though we didnt use it. You have a gorgeous lodge, so comfortable and everything in it makes it a home from home stay. The lodge was really lovely,very clean and comfortable,the only thing I would suggest to make it perfect is a privacy screen around the corner of the hot tub as you are in full view of all the people and traffic passing by. Also maybe bigger towels would be useful. Everything else was great ,just how it should be .

Had a wonderful stay been on this site 5 times now love Windermere. Beautiful place very clean has everything you need the only downside is no tv in the master bedroom, we do like to have tv on in bed to fall asleep to drowns partners snoring out ha. This however was the only downside to the property. Thank you for a lovely stay I never want to come home from the Lake District.

Beautiful lodge on a beautiful site. The lodge had everything you need for break away, and really is a home from home. Nice little touches such as welcome gifts for adults, kids and dogs. Hot tub contractors came daily to ensure water was clean and safe. Well be back!

Absolutely fantastic again, previously visited in july. Everything was just perfect ,everything in the kitchen you need and more. The bed was so comfortable, lovely clean bedding. Plenty wardrobe space, shower in ensuite just fabulous. The hot tub a well deserved treat. Amazing welcome pack for us and our Bedlington Kaya, thank you so much. One disappointment, you dont have availability till 2025!!!!, if you have any cancellations for Annes 60th in April, please keep us notified. Thank you so much, will definitely be back. We had a great holiday, only a couple of things which could be better WiFi. Parkdean WiFi is awful. Would be so much better if lodge had own connection. And the kitchen tap has been put on upside down.

Great property outstanding layout very comfortable with plenty of space

We really enjoyed our stay in this fantastic property we have stayed here before and could not fault anything everything was spot on. With the weather being so hot the only negative thing was there was no fan and the lodge got so hot with the sun being on it all day .The park dosnt hire them so we bought one as one of our party has breathing difficulties. Another point we had someone come to change the gas regulator they were doing all of the lodges on the park and the park didn't inform us we were a bit unsure of this and a little concerned as if we were not in they would of just entered the property unknow to us.this isn't a reflection on the property or our stay it was just lack of communication it would of been nice to be informed as the lodge was our responsibility during our stay. Overall we had a fantastic time and we were sad to leave the lodge is a credit to the owners and we will definitely be back making memories to remember thank you .

I appreciate this was pet friendly, but the place was covered in black dog hairs,especially on the very squeeky sofas and cushions ,they where even in the toilet, the decking was thick with cobwebs which is unavoidable this time of year but you would think it would be clean on arrival , the key lock only opened on arrival and we couldnt return the key to leave ,as it just wouldnt open. The hot tub lad came every day to check it which was good, on returning home i have had an email saying theres an faint orange mark on the white bedding and they are taking 34 out of my bank account without my permission to replace the bed set , i suggested we didnt mark any bedding , but in all fairness maybe buy a bottle of Ace to remove the so called mark , i am really upset by this as i know for a fact i stripped all bed before leaving and there were no stains marks etc just dog hairs ,the good points it was in a lovely location , after paying 850 for 4 nights i am really shocked they are trying to get more money out of me for a full bed set for a stain on a quilt cover we didnt put there

Went to black dog lodge with our 2 teenage kids for a long weekend the only trouble was it wasn't long enough. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The hot tub was ready to use when we arrived. It was spacious and relaxing, just perfect after a long walk on the fells. The bedrooms were spacious with plenty wardrobe and draw space. The kitchen had everything you needed. Angus, our dog loved the spacious lounge and decking area. He doesn't normally settle out of his own environment but he was so chilled and he loved his little treats thank you. The site clubhouse and restaurant was good. They cater well for families with young children. We'll definitely be back.

Have had a wonderful stay here,highly recomend to friends and family. To those with or without pets. Lodge was like home and welcome tray of treats were a lovely added touch. Duggee our 7mth blk lab says thankyou for his treats!!! Welcome folders gave great information we used this to help us get the most from our walks and sightseeing.We can't wait to come back!!

Recommend fitting Venetian Blinds in the main bedroom all bath towels need upgrading to bath sheets. All of the utensils in one big drawer is dangerous Knives mixed with all other cooking utensils

Perfect property for our needs as a family of 4. Very clean and comfortable. Perfect spot within the site, close to the lake and all of the amenities. Great location to explore the beauty of the Lakes and to relax. Hopefully we will be back again soon.

Love this lodge we've stayed here for the last 7 or 8 years and will be again hopefully next year. Only gripe was the wifi was down on site without warning so it was a bit of a job planning our days out.

We loved our stay at the lodge, beautiful weather, great hot tub, fab location, couldnt have been better, we will book again.
