Alternatively, head to Grasmere (18 miles), where you can visit Dove Cottage, which was once home to the poet William Wordsworth.

Afterwards, take a seat in a cosy teashop to sample the village’s famous gingerbread. From the private parking area (there’s room for two cars) make your way to your cosy retreat.

Step inside and you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan living space with pretty woodland-themed decor. Relax onto the sofa and take a moment to appreciate the views through the wide glass doors.

When it’s time to eat, head to the smart galley kitchen area to whip up your favourite dishes for your loved ones. Share a casual meal at the quaint dining table, before you had back to the lounge area for movie night.

The property has two sleeping areas – a stylish double bed and a versatile double sofa bed in the lounge area. A sleek shower room completes the stylish layout.

Outside, you’ll find a large raised decked with seating. Make yourself at home and enjoy BBQ feasts under the stars.
