Spend a day at the iconic Lake Windermere (12 miles) and you can hop aboard a cruise for a leisurely afternoon for a unique experience, or simply stroll around the calm waters in search of the local wildlife and birdlife. If you're a food lover, make time to dine out in Cartmel (15 miles), the home of the sticky toffee pudding, as well as two fantastic Michelin star restaurants.
