We had a lovely stay at this place! The decor is really tastefuland all the amenities are spot on - they've clearly put a lot of thought into making sure everything's perfect. Plenty of space inside and outside, with a gorgeous enclosed garden to relax in. It's in a peaceful spot, away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough for scenic walks along PenRead Morenine Way. The town is just a short walk or drive, with shops nearby. We loved it and will definitely return!

We had a fantastic stay at Fell View! The location is truly unbeatable, with breathtaking views in the early morning that just took our breath away. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, cosyand had everything we needed for a comfy stay. It's perfectly placed for exploring the Lakes, Hexham, or Newcastle. Alston is a charming little villageand we loved visiting the Angel Inn - you never know who you might meet! The local Spar's butchers counter also had a great selection of meats. Would definitely recommend!

The location is so peaceful and surrounded by stunning scenery, making it a great base to explore the Lakes, Northumberlandand the Pennines. Honestly, we left feeling really relaxed. Truly a 5-star experience!

The location was perfect for exploring-short walks into Alston and lovely trails nearby. Everything we needed was supplied, from comfy beds and fresh linen to well-labelled recycling bins. We had a fantastic week in this charming cottage, tucked away on Alston Moor's edge. It's a perfect spot if you're into walking and spotting wildlife - we loved exploring the area. Evenings were spent unwinding in the hot tub, soaking in the incredible views. A highlight was definitely the steam train from Alston - our little one was thrilled! The Lake District is just a short drive away, about 35 minutesand we enjoyed some lovely days there too. We're already looking forward to coming back soon!
Emily
Honestly, the cottage was stunning and spotless, with a lovely fresh smell. We arrived and met the owner shortly after, who was super friendly and welcoming. We couldn't find a single fault with the place. The only reason I've marked down the location a bit is because it's a tad remote for us. Otherwise, I'd happily give it 10 stars for everything else! Would definitely stay again.
Oliver
We had a fantastic stay! The house was spotless and felt really modern, exactly as the photos showed. The owner was super friendly and even came to say hello when we arrived, which was a nice touch. The location suited us perfectly, with a handy Spar nearby that also has a local butcher inside-great for fresh sandwiches and jacket potatoes until late. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
Alex
The cottage offers amazing views that really took our breath away! Everything we needed was waiting for us when we arrived - a real plus. The nearby Co-op, just a quick 5-minute drive, was a lifesaver since you're pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We're definitely returning, no doubt about it!

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 20 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 25 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 26 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 27 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
