The property was spotless on arrival. In a great quiet location just a short stroll into Windermere. The addition of the hot tub was really appreciated after hiking the fells. Great communication from the owners to allow us to drop our bags off early. Would highly recommended and already looking to rebook.

This property is first class. From the moment we arrived for our week in the Lake District, we felt at home. Great care had clearly been taken to ensure the property was spotlessly clean and warm on arrival. We really felt this was a home from home, kitchen wonderfully equipped, comfortable furnishings etc. There were some very thoughtful provisions too, such as gowns for the hot tub, this was a lovely touch. Id highly recommend Silver Birches to anyone!

A lovely house with plenty of space and really well located for accessing both Windermere and Bowness. The house was warm and cozy when we arrived, the hot tub good for 46 people. No issues with the house, it was our third time there, weve booked again for 2026

We stayed at Silver Birches as the 9th visitor after the property was first let as a holiday home about 7 years ago and had a fabulous holiday. Lovely quiet culdesac. Marvellous garden and hot tub. The kitchen was and still is the best equipped kitchen we have ever used in a holiday home and we have stayed in a lot of cottages over the years. But, we are aware that this property allows dogs, we don't have dogs and when we arrived the smell of dogs on the sofas 3 and the rug in front of the fire had a very strong dog odour. We vacuumed the rug and the carpet through the corridor through to the bedroom and filled the Dyson stick vacuum three time with dog hair. I know they allow dogs, but guests without dogs shouldn't have to clear dog hair up from previous guests. The smell to us was over powering. The bathroom, shower room, bedroom and kitchen were spotless. I think that some small changes to the cleaning regime would help.

A fantastic house in a great location. Very comfy and spacious with walking distance to all amenities and dog walks on the doorstep. Everything you need is provided for a great break.

Really loved staying at Silver Birches. It was dark when we arrived but we were welcomed by blue fairy lights in the tree by the drive and once inside it was spacious and immaculate, even better than the listing suggested. Beds were soft but comfortable and in the morning we could appreciate the gorgeous, well kept garden and start to explore the local area. The kitchen had good space but my only ask would be a few extra things in the cupboards, namely a salad spinner, some newer nonstick frying pans and some sharper knives but there was plenty of quality glassware and crockery and cutlery. The induction hob was good and so much easier to clean than a gas hob and there was a big fridge freezer. The location was quiet and out of the way but an easy walk into Windermere and there are some paths to explore to get down to the lake or down to Bowness. It can be a little tricky to emerge into the main road as its so busy but there was always a gap eventually. Would happily stay here again.

This was our 3rd visit to Silver Birches and we had already booked for 2026. As with previous visits the property was spotless on arrival with the bonus of a bottle of wine and milk. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden and as we were lucky with the weather we made great use of the hot tub and it was reassuring that it was checked during the week. The kitchen has everything you need for self catering and the beds were super comfortable. It is located in a quiet cul de sac but it is only a short 10 minute walk into Windermere village where there is a selection of dining choices including Cafe Italia which we have visited every year and has dog friendly al fresco dining. We recommend this property and look forward to more visits in the future.

Amazing place in a peaceful but convenient location. Bungalow is clean spacious and has all mod cons. Can't fault it.

Over the years weve travelled the country and stayed in many dog friendly properties. Silver Birches is by far the BEST property weve stayed at. Immaculately clean, very comfortable, perfect location for sightseeing and walks. Beautiful garden fully enclosed if you take a dog. Hot tub at the end of a busy day a real treat. Lovely little extras a face cloth for makeup, a tassimo coffee machine, robes for when you use the hot tub etc etc. We got home yesterday weve ALREADY booked it for next year!!!

Fantastic property and in a very central location in Windermere. Short walk to train station, shops etc. Property has everything you might need for your stay and the hot tub was an added bonus. Also the property was very clean and could not find fault with anything. Garden room a nice place to relax in. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway but close to everything then Silver Birches is the perfect place.

5 holiday bungalow that had everything you should need. Beautiful area with beautiful scenery from the back garden. Highly recommend.

Lovely property very clean well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms. Lovely secluded hot tub, plenty of seating in the living & dining area. The owners have thought of everything which made this a lovely stay! Great walk to Bowness to the lake about 1 12 miles, lots of shops, pubs & restaurants in walking distance. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again!

Congratulations on the standard of Silver Birches. We were warm and comfortable and really enjoyed the garden room and hot tub. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we had a wonderful week.

Visited Silverbirches 7 times now and it's amazing

We have stayed at a few cottages in Windermere but after our stay in Silver Birches we have found the perfect one. The cottage was beautifully furnished and very warm and cosy. Bedrooms were spacious with big comfortable beds and loads of storage space. Kitchen was very well equipped with every gadget you could need. Hot tub was perfect after a days walking. Location of the cottage is ideal as it is a lovely quiet area but you are in the centre of Windermere in well under 10 minutes. Thank you for the welcome gift of prossecco it was much appreciated. We will definitely return.

Nothing was too much for the owners of this property. Everything needed for a relaxing stay was provided. The property is located in a lovely quiet area but also close to the centre. The property is central to many walks in the area.

Beautiful family getaway in the heart of Lakes. Everything you could want and more! Bedrooms were great, beds comfy, space to unpack and everyone had peaceful sleep after long days walking and outdoors. Kitchen was well stocked and catered for our children as well, we appreciated the bottle of Prosecco as a welcome gift after a gruelling motorway journey to the property! Hot tub was an added luxury that was enjoyed, and the provided robes made the quick dash to the warmth of the house that bit more manageable it was October half term after all!. Hosts were contactable if necessary and we will definitely look at booking again.

Lovely property in quiet area away from hustle & bustle but near enough to walk to an assortment of amenities. Hot tub a definite bonus on arrival property was extremely clean with everything you may need at your fingertips. Lovely large bedrooms ideal for 2 families. Would highly recommend booking your stay here. We will certainly return.

We had a lovely stay at Silver Birches and would certainly recommend this property. It was well maintained, was as described and everything worked well, showers, heating, hot tub, we had no issues whatsoever. The smaller details surpassed our expectations as it is literally a home from home, there is an abundance of crockery, pans, baking equipment, literally everything you could wish for, there was handwash in each bathroom and toilet, shower gel available, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, dish cloths, tea towels, bin liners. A fantastic utility room with 2 washing machines and a drier, an air fryer, DAB radio, the list goes on. The bottle of Prosecco and pint of milk was a lovely gesture after a 3.5 hour drive Location is pretty perfect, a short walk into Windermere with a lovely amount of shops and a handful of restaurants, Bowness on Windermere is a short drive, as is Ambleside. We did leave a few items at the property on the day of departure and the owner called me to arrange the return which was hugely appreciated. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
