Hot tub was too far away from accommodation, this was particularly noticeable as our visit was end of October. Heating controls had child lock on so we were unable to adjust the heating controls to suit our requirements. Shower wasn't very powerful but did get nice and hot. Host was very nice and polite and accommodation was clean and tidy.

We stayed at Mayfield cottage as part of our honeymoon. Baz, Jenna and the girls were absolutely fabulous. Nothing was too much effort and each and every person went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. From teaching our daughter all about feeding the chickens to how to stroke the dog, this family have made a little friend for life who continues to talk about her friends and Marley. The cottage itself was well maintained and had everything and more in terms of equipment, utensils and the location was ideal. Had a lovely few days at Mayfield Cottage. Really handy for Blackpool and Lytham St Annes, but really quiet location. Hot tub great, hosts friendly and helpful. There are chickens and rabbits near the cottage. My daughter enjoyed looking at them and running about in the garden. Well kitted out. Hope to come again

A true gem of a place. A real home from home, owners lovely and welcoming. Full use of hot tub which is the best we have had and swimming pool, no time restrictions, full use of massive suntrap garden. Everything possible has been thought of right down to kitchen utensils, bathrobes and towels for poolhottub. Easily placed for St Annes and Blackpool, both walkable if you like walking and footpaths all the way which is good. It's lovely and peaceful and secure with the electric gates. Make sure you buy some fresh eggs from the residential hens which are lovely, both the hens and the eggs. Had a fantastic week and it's only half an hour's drive from home! Can't wait to return, I've recommenced to friends who say it looks amazing! Ideal for a couple or small family who want a breakaway within easy reach of Blackpool but far enough away from the centre. If you want to drive into BlackpoolSt AnnesLythamClevelleys which are all pretty near there are plenty of free parking on side streets if you are prepared to walk a little. Thanks Jenna, Baz , Paige, Jess and Amy and not forgetting Marley the lovely dog who likes to play the stone throwing game for making us so welcome, you are a lovely family, felt like we came as guests and left as friends xx

We had a fantastic stay at Mayfield Cottage. The owners made us feel very welcome and at home right down to providing teabags and a pint of milk to enjoy a cup of tea upon arrival. The cottage was well maintained and had great facilities. We made good use of the hot tub and although we did brave the swimming pool once it's definitely better suited to warmer months!! The location was extremely peaceful and well located within a 1015 min drive of the heart of Blackpool. We would come back and would highly reccommend

Our stay at Mayfield cottage was fantastic from start to finish. Jen & Baz are lovely hosts. They met us with the key, showed us around and explained everything. The cottage is stunning and in the most beautiful grounds. The hot tub and pool were a great bonus and we made the most of the good weather by using them every day. The cottage has everything you need, the kitchen is really well equipped, theres even a wine cooler and its very tastefully decorated throughout. We felt very comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived. Its close to both Blackpool and Lytham St Annes, both are only a few minutes drive away. We use Sykes a lot to book holiday accommodation but we havent stayed anywhere as nice as here and I have recommended Mayfield to all my friends and family. Were already planning to stay again next year. If youre thinking about staying here, book it, you wont be disappointed.

Wifi a little unstable, could improve with wifi boosters in the cottage as I think the router is in the owners property a few meters away. Great location as just a short drive to the promenade and St Annes is a lovely place. Will be booking a stay again!

Fabulous place to stay, lovely host family, pool unheated was wonderful as we had glorious sunshine and once you got chilly you could get in the hot tub, which was for guests exclusive use. The pool area and surrounding courtyard are amazing and the large, pristine garden is beautiful. The space is shared with the owners and the cottage is close to their house, but don't be put off, we were made to feel very welcome and the facilities are excellent. Good quality furniture and beds, spacious bedroom. Highly recommended.

Had an incredible week stay at Mayfield Cottage. The location was spot on, excellent amenities including the hot tub, bbq and pool and very comfortable bed. Wifi is a bit hit and miss but the hosts were brill and having a pub a stone's throw away is ideal. Would highly recommend to couples or a 3 person family and would not hesitate in booking a stay in the future.

For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
