Step inside and you’ll find space and character in abundance. The kitchen/diner, complete with an AGA and all the essentials for home cooking, sets the tone for hearty breakfasts and relaxed evening feasts.

There’s a formal dining room for special occasions, a welcoming sitting room with an open fire for quiet evenings in, and even a sunroom and snug for those who like to find their own corner to unwind. The library offers a peaceful retreat for book lovers, while downstairs, the games room invites laughter, competition and a bit of chaos.

Across its five bedrooms, Elford Farmhouse ensures everyone has space to settle in. The super-king-size suite with its private balcony and luxurious en-suite (complete with freestanding bath) is particularly impressive, while the other beautifully presented rooms include a mix of doubles and king-sizes, each with thoughtful touches and comfortable furnishings.

Outside, the enclosed garden is made for long summer days – with a lawn, patio, outdoor furniture and that all-important hot tub for unwinding in style. Take a peaceful stroll along the winding paths through the trees and explore three acres of beautifully maintained gardens, with two adjacent fields also available for walking when vacant, offering even more space to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

There’s parking for several cars, too, making group stays easy and relaxed. When you’re ready to explore, the Northumberland coastline is just a short drive away, home to dramatic beaches, fishing villages and heritage sites.

It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ

With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
