We had an incredible stay here it was so quiet and peaceful, and the property was beautiful. It was lovely and clean, and had everything we couldve needed for our stay. The hosts were very friendly and they were available if we needed anything. The pie and fizz went down a treat too! Overall it was absolutely perfect, and wed love to stay here again. Thank you for having us!
Absolutely wonderful place to stay, clean, tidy, comfortable, lots of nice touches. We felt so welcomed, while given total privacy. Every element of our stay was lovely and the only room for improvement would be that as we brought our dog, the garden could be a little more secure, especially given their are sheep in the adjacent fields a more secure fence on the field side would be ideal, but otherwise it was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay in this property! It was our first time in a Shepherds hut and we were a little surprised at how compact it was however the outdoor space made up for this with covered and uncovered areas allowing us to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery and ever changing weathers!

We loved staying here. It was everything we wished it could be. The accommodation was well equipped, cosy and comfortable with a lovely bottle of complimentary fizz in the fridge for us to enjoy. The hot tub is the icing on the cake. We did a couple of walks then came back and relaxed in there with a beer and some music whilst our food was cooking in the oven. It was bliss

We loved it. It was our second visit and we will definitely be back again next year hopefully with the dogs as well.
We have had a fabulous time at High Rigg, we would recommend this beautiful retreat, the shepherds huts are amazing comfortable cosy homely, the facilities were great, amazing place to stay with amazing country side walks and views. Dog friendly like home from home .
Pamela
The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The shepherds pie and wine was a lovely touch. Everything you needed was in the hut. The hot tub was amazing and warm enough to use throughout the whole stay. Very private. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay
A lovely little gem in a beautiful setting! Comfy, cosy, peaceful, well equipped, great explanation of directions on your welcome email. Recommendations would be to add a corkscrew, as we had some wine we brought with us that we couldn't open in the end, that's all we missed though, as everything else was thought of, even a torch and lighter!
Samantha
We had a lovely relaxing stay. The property was compact but had everything we needed for an amazing stay. It was very dog friendly and the Shepard's pie and bottle of fizz made for a very nice welcome. The settings are stunning!
Great place to stay and lovely owners. Hot tub was a great treat. Owners recommendation to visit Powfoot near Annan was spot on. Enjoyed the welcome pack.
Debbie
A much needed break for me & my dog & it did not disappoint. A beautiful quiet setting, lovely accommodation, clean & kitted out with everything you would need, even down to doggy towels
Daniel
The property was amazing and the location and views were astounding. Well looked after, the owners checked on us to see if we needed anything and the shepards pies we got were delicious. Would definitely recommend to others and will look at coming again to this beautifully located property with hot tub which was lovely after a long day of being out and about.
Fantastic accomodation and stay in a beautiful location.
Amanda
Absolutely loved our stay here! The hut was so peaceful and relaxing. It had all the standard ammenities in the property so you only need to pack some food. It backed onto a field of cows so if you take your dog I'd keep that in mind as they do come close to the fence. Really enjoyed the shepherd's pie too, was a lovely touch.
Was truly relaxing and peaceful location . We stayed in the Shepherds Sunset and was make to feel completely at home. We would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing getaway from it all . We will be back.
Nathan
Great property in a nice out of the way location. We woke up to lovely views. Had brief contact with I believe was potentially one of the owners and they were great. Would highly recommend

Absolutely recommend this place we will definitely be coming back and will be sharing our experiences to our family and friends . The hosts are lovely and are only phone call away if you need them . On arrival the wine was chilling in the fridge nice and cold and the Shepherds pie was a delight . You will not be disappointed.

An absolute find of the place. Truly beautiful and peaceful. The owners were tentative with their service and the homemade pies on arrival, was a lovely touch. We will definitely go back again and was worth the 375 mile journey. This site won't allow a picture, but it is beautiful.
Amazing place to stay, lovely people, amazing hot tub with beautiful scenery. Will definitely be visiting again

This place is a gem, lovely little cabin with hot tub. Travel light clothes wise as there is not much space inside for hanging clotges etc! But the cabin has all the home comforts required. Wood burning stove is an asset and kept it very cosy. Really appreciated the prosecco and shepherds pie the first night. All in all a lovely spot for a chilled break.
Would recommend this property to anyone . Small but perfectly formed . Hot tub fabulous owners very friendly and helpful. Shepherds pie which was left for us delicious. Views amazing lived our stay there. Arrived Wednesday left Sunday loved every minute. Great places to visit within easy reach
Rebecca

We had such a relaxing stay! The hut was just perfect, the view was beautiful and it lived up to its name, as the sunsets were just spectacular! The first night we arrived after a long 6hour drive to a lovely Shepherd's pie and bottle of pink fizz. We couldn't fault it, we had such a lovely week and the owners were really friendly. 100 would stay here again.
Such a beautiful shepherds hut, very cosy. Lovely view from the decking and good access to local walks, not too far from Hadrian's wall either! Would definitely recommend for a little getaway, and would definitely stay again
A lovely place to get away and relax! ! Stunning views and loved having a hot tub!! Very peaceful and the owners made us a shepherd's pie which was very yummy!! They even gave us a bottle of fizz!! The place had lots of character and was very charming!! Would 100 stay again and recommend to anyone else interested in staying!!
Exactly what is advertised, a nice relaxing getaway! You can go on a nice peaceful walk through the country in the day, and come back to a lovely warm hot tub in the evening. To top it off, the hosts were very kind and helpful, and provided an amazing Shepherds Pie. Had an amazing time, even if the weather wasnt the greatest!
Had a great week in the Shepherd's sunset Hut. Nice and clean and private. Met the owner who who gave us some tips on local things to do. Great base for Hadrians wall and the lake district. Not too far from the local shops if required. I would highly recommend this place.
We had a lovely relaxing stay in the shepherd's sunset, the views where great and saying hello to the cows on a morning was a bonus. The hut is well appointed and we slept great. Cant wait to book again !!!

The cabin was amazing and so homely, it had an amazing view and we had such a perfect relaxing weekend and we will 100 be going back. The owners are so lovely they couldnt have made it a nicer experience for us, we are so thankful and cant wait to go back

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Shepheards Sunset for three nights. Brenda and David extended a warm and genuine welcome, making us feel right at home. Their hospitality was exceptional, and their attention to detail was evident in every aspect of our stay. The surprise of Shepheards pie and a bottle of fizz upon arrival was a thoughtful and welcoming touch, setting the tone for a memorable getaway. This lodge is set within a private garden which creates a real peaceful environment to relax in after exploring the many places the area has to offer. Overall, we cant recommend this enough and have already booked our return.
David, Brenda and Chris made us welcome from the moment we showed up at High Rigg. Place was in a great location with fantastic views and was as good as expected with some nice little personal touches like Shepherds Pie and bottle of Fizz. Definitely will return.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 6 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 22 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 24 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
