Cunliffe House Reviews

Geoffrey
Superb location, quiet yet still near to all the shops and places of interest. The house is excellent , very well equipped and clean. A lovely welcome pack on arrival, hot tub was well used by our grandson. We will certainly visit again,

Beautiful cottage. Great location. Lovely welcome hamper. Would definitely recommend you will have a great time! However, just a couple of things that could be better. Not enough wine glasses , tumblers, cups etc. We have stayed in numerous properties and often there are more plates, cups, glasses, cutlery etc than needed however there was 1 half pint glass and 3 wine glasses and not as much crockery and cutlery as would expect. This also meant the dishwasher was going on for very few items. No teapot but 4 cafetires. No plastic glasses for when in hot tub either. Also games room great but not really any useable darts. But these are such minor issues that are easily improved and its a great place, so if you book you wont be disappointed.
Great stay at Cunliffe House. The property and grounds were very clean on arrival and the welcome basket and goodies in the fridge were much appreciated. The games room was well used as we had a wet day. All beds were comfy and having plenty of seating areas was great with a large family group.

A lovely home with a wow factor! Very spacious, clean and the welcome pack was extremely generous and much appreciated! All beds were comfortable, lovely big sofas for relaxing evenings and good facilities throughout. Travel cot and high chair were available as requested and baby slept well always a bonus! The hot tub was popular. Good storage in the utility area for outdoor shoes etc. Lots of hot water and house was always warm. We moved a bedside lamp to the lounge for evening ambiance. We know the area well and visited this time for a family occasion in Guiseley we would all like to return to Cunliffe House in the future, it is lovely.
Lovely house amazing location we really enjoyed ourselves and have booked again for next year thanks
Had a fabulous weekend stay for our Xmas get together, so comfortable and clean ... Had a fabulous weekend stay for our Xmas get together, so comfortable and clean , lovely touch with the welcome hamper , the house is to a really high standard , the kids and men spent some time in the games room , and we used the hot tub which if any criticism, would be it could do with being undercover as it was a freezing windy evening but we still used it , would definitely use again and recommend for more nights next time
Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, comfortable, fabulous heating and hot tub an added bonus. Peaceful location, less than 10 mins walk to very friendly local pub. Would not hesitate to recommend and definitely return!
The oven could do with a deep clean, not enough waste bags nor clear indication of recycling. The fire pit was full of cigarette butts and could have done with cleaning out. No locks on bathroom doors otherwise very warm and comfy. Wed definitely come back, the games room was excellent as was the hot tub. The house itself was beautiful, quiet and ideally located to tour the surrounding countryside.

Had a great girls trip for 3 nights, lovely house very comfortable, and enjoyed the hot tub
Kathryn
Absolutely fantastic place, thank you for the starter pack. Everything was really clean, maybe suggest a little fridge in the games room and also more outside lighting around the hot tub area, but apart from that we would recommend your house and we will definitely come back

The location was just perfect for our weekend away. We had lovely autumnal sunshine. Lovely walk to Guiesley taking in the views towards Bradford and beyond. Visited the Woolpack pub in our return walk. The property was comfortable well maintained. We made use of the hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The welcome was a lovely touch. We didn't make use of the games room in the garage but there is definitely something for everyone at the property. Would recommend it to anyone.
Everyone really enjoyed their stay. Brilliant amenities, games room and hot tub especially. We loved the location too, peaceful area with localbpub and walks, but also easy access to the nearest towns, Saltaire and Bingley. Highly recommended.
The house is ideally situated to explore the area but also secluded enough to enjoy the peace of the countryside. Everything was clean and tidy and the welcome pack was above and beyond, we even had a bottle of prosseco to enjoy. We placed an online grocery order from Asda that arrived as promised with no issues, it was ideal for a large family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we reported that there was not enough wine glasses and they supplied some the same day, a very prompt and polite service

Lovely spacious house with everything you need literally a few minutes walk to the Woolpack pub in Esholt village. Loved the games room, the snug outside and the hot tub. Comfy and beautiful bedrooms. Only things I might add would be a blind on the landing window, being able to lock the gate next to the yard behind and someone checking the hot tub every couple of days. Will be coming back though at some point in the future.
We loved the house, the location, the garden, hot tub, rooms, ensuites, the cleanliness, the WiFi, the space and layout, games room, views, sheep, owls and bunnies we would definitely come again! Things we think could be better downstairs bathroom could do with an update and a shower curtain for the shower and tiles which cover the wall to stop it getting soaked, it wasnt really usable as a shower. Locks on bathroom doors and ideally all upstairs doors and ensuites! More space to storing food To know someone was coming to collect something early in the morning! Not asking us to strip our beds and leave towels and sheets in the bath by email the day before we leave when youre paying a lot of money you dont expect to be part of the housekeeping process, never been asked to do this before!
We had a fantastic few days with the family i. E. son, daughter in law and two teenagers. Lots of memories made. Just a few observations made as follows The teapot was cracked and leaking No hot water in the bath in upstairs bathroom A shower screen needed over downstairs bathroom to prevent flooding. A full length mirror would bt appreciated

A really lovely house with plenty of space. We only stayed for two nights but wished we could have stayed longer. Maybe in the future. We made full use of the games room and hot tub. We sat in it listening to the music from a festival fete at the local sports club. The only downside was the scrap yard behind the house. They had a bonfire alight when we arrived and it didn't burn out until 36 hours later. We couldn't sit outside in the shaded area next to the games room because of the smoke from it. Apart from that, everything was great. The Woolpack pub in the village was good for food and drinks.
The property was amazing, couldnt fault one thing about it we will definitely be returning again! Attention to detail was on point the surroundings were beautiful. The hot to was fab and we had lots of fun in the games room, the hamper and fridge package was a lovely added bonus 1010 really couldnt fault one thing. Thank you we had an amazing stay here and look forward to another one.
We had a great week at Cunliffe house. It has a great set up with the hot tub and games room, as well as plenty of space so you can escape from each other. Beautiful patios and we loved watching the bats while using the firepit. The bedrooms are well appointed, particularly the 2 ensuites. The kitchen has plenty of space but as foodies we'd have appreciated better sharp knifes than are available. Maybe a sharpener would help? I added a plastic lemon squeezer to the items, as we needed one. As others have pointed out the main sitting room's sofas need reupholstering as they are past their best, although look lovely. The garden room has more upright sofas though, and it is a great room to sit in and relax, whilst admiring the gardens. I'd definitely recommend it as a holiday location. The Woolpack served tasty food if you fancied lunch and the village has a number of walks. Hopefully we'll visit again. Thank you!
Nice & cosy property in a peaceful location. Being able to walk to the cricket club & the atmospheric Woolpack pub was a bonus, where we had a very good meal. A lovely welcome hamper was provided on arrival. Plenty of hot water and linen & towels provided were of very good quality. The kitchen was well equipped. Unfortunately our group was a little disappointed. There was food from previous guests left in the oven. Broken teapot in cupboard had leaked and left a brown tea stain in cupboard. We removed couple of beer bottles that had been left in games room. A broken leg on the lounge armchair & lounge suite was worn. Also a broken zip on the conservatory sofa. Soap container in master ensuite almost empty on arrival & dusty skirting boards in Master ensuite. Lack of wardrobes in some bedrooms. The outside table & chairs appeared not been cleaned for sometime & the fire pit table had ashes left in it. I contacted the owner re some of the issues. She apologised for the cleaner having overlooked some things & she offered to send someone up to address the outside issues but as it was our penultimate evening we declined. Some of the above would indicate that the cleaningmaintenance could be better. Weve previously stayed in other properties with Sykes.

We had a fantastic stay for our first family holiday in years at Cunliffe House. Totally relaxing environment and would definitely come back, we were a little disturbed by the banging and construction work going on next door but this can't be helped, and the gentleman that came to fetch the mower from the shed a couple of times was very friendly and respectful, especially when he asked if he was okay with the dog. The pool table is not like the one on the pictures which is a shame, but we spent plenty of time on it regardless, a real highlight! My only suggestion would be to have some form of barrier or gate on the drive, or where the outdoor seating area is, as this is not enclosed and we had to park our cars in a way to try and block it off as we had a dog with us we had a few people walk by the bottom of the drive with dogsrunners etc so this was something we had to be aware of. Although the listing says fully enclosed, unfortunately this is not true as our dog could easily get out if he chose, and there is a large space in the hedge that goes straight through to a six foot drop onto the roadpathway. So if you do have a dog that is likely to wander or is in anyway reactive, a lead is very necessary! This didn't take away from our stay though as it's still relatively private, and the whole house was lovely, decorated to a beautiful standard, and we genuinely felt like we were at home. We made use of the fire pitBBQ, went in the hot tub nearly every day, and had an all round fabulous time. We hope to be back soon!

Beautiful property in a lovely peaceful setting, games room was fab and provided many hours of entertainment, house was lovely and warm, beds were so comfy and towels great. A nice hamper on arrival, my only criticism would be similar to previous reviews, lack of tumblr type drinking glasses tea towels, plus a lovely seating area outside provided but seats not cleaned so unable to really use, however this didn't detract from a great time we had and would stay again
We immediately fell in love with this gorgeous, welcoming house. It was clean, spacious, warm and comfortable and the lovely welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated. The large hot tub and games room were well used by all family members and were a great fun addition to this property. The conservatory at the back of the house is a lovely quiet space and the outdoor area offers different places to sit and enjoy the lovely views. The quiet, scenic location was so peaceful and a 5 minute walk to the friendly village pub was a definite bonus. Would definitely recommend this house for a getaway and would love to return with the family again.

Overall our stay was really good! Property and location perfect for us and our dogs. The hot tub was very scummy when we first used it so contacted pool maintenance and they came out the next day. He emptied it and cleaned it which meant it was out of action for a couple of hours. Having a nice clean hot tub was great! Inside the property were lots of candles, we lit the two in the lounge which already contained used candles, one candle fell against the holder and cracked the glass badly! We did leave a note to warn that it was broken and dangerous. Also another's candle holder set on fire whilst we were relaxing in the lounge. We dealt with it but felt it would be better if there was a no candle policy in the property. The games room was brilliant! So much fun! We would definitely return for longer as there are lots of places to visit around Esholt. Ps we couldn't find the vacuum cleaner which would have been handy! This is a great property with good bedroom combinations so suits all age ranges.
Had an absolutely wonderful couple of days. The house is beautiful the pictures on line don't do it justice. The little touches like the welcome basket and bottle of prosecco so thoughtful. Lovely quality of bedding and towels. The family loved the hot tub and games room, just one suggestion to consider perhaps some sort of wooden structure to house the hot tub would make it ideal for use all year round. Having said that the rain didn't deter us from using it! . Will definitely be going back to Cunliffe house.
Alison
An awesome cottage in a beautiful setting!
Charlotte
My friends and I had an amazing stay at this property. Everything was clean and fresh upon arrival and the pictures do not do the house justice in how large and well decorated it is! We came with a small dog who had the time of his life in the garden and relaxing by the well stocked fireplace. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the hot rib exceptionally large! We had such a great time, I would definitely look to book again. The owner was also really helpful in returning an item of lost property we didnt even realise wed left it there! Thank you so much for an amazing stay
Our only concern was the difference in floor level from the kitchen to the rest of the house as the step is a lot higher than a normal step. Also if you were going to the downstairs bedroom or the stairs it was darker.
Jessica
A beautiful house located in a gorgeous picturesque setting. Fantastic amenities which made it perfect for our family getaway. We would highly recommend anyone to book this property.
