About The Old Piggery

A delightful detached wooden cabin set on the owner's smallholding, just four miles from Haworth and within a short driving distance to Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Dales. This welcoming cottage near Haworth started out as an old farm building, but the current owners have completely re-built it using modern techniques and a renewable air source heat system.

An ideal base for couples, a family or group of friends, this lovely holiday home offers contemporary styling and has little extra touches that will put a smile on everyone?s face. In warmer months you are sure to spend a lot of time on the large balcony, which is positioned perfectly to enjoy the long distance views of the moors.

Set out over one floor, this charming cottage near Haworth has an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and a welcoming sitting area with leather sofas. Three bedrooms, two with en-suites and a separate shower room will ensure that guests have a wonderful time at this Keighley cottage.

Adults can enjoy a relaxing dip in the luxurious hot tub, whilst the children will enjoy viewing the many interesting and varied animals on the farm, including geese, ducks, donkeys and alpacas. The town of Keighley offers Victorian buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus close by is the National Trust owned East Riddlesden Hall and there are many walking routes in the area.

The quaint village Haworth is with easy reach, as is the town of Skipton, plus further afield is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate and the whole of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park to discover. An excellent Haworth cottage, perfect for exploring all that this superb area has to offer.

We really enjoyed our stay. The information sent in advance made the property easy to find and access. The owners were really helpful and on site to help. Fresh eggs in the morning was a lovely touch. The hot tub was well maintained and cleanedchecked every morning which was reassuring. Our children loved being able to see all the animals out of the living room window! The property was perfect for a weekend break, but the bedrooms were small and didn't have any clothes storage so this might be an issue for longer stays. The owners did warn us that some people find the bedrooms too hot and this was definitely true for us. Even with the thermostat turned to the minimum and the windows open in february we couldn't get the temperature below 25 degrees. The track to get to the property is steep and rough not an issue for us, but smaller enginescars may struggle! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return!

We came for a week in Feb half term and the property was a good base for trips around the area. The weather was mixed. We loved the views and the hot tub. The peacocks were really amusing to watch and they came to our door looking through the glass. It was lovely to see the animals. The accommodation was really warm and the facilties were fine, all straightforward to use. The beds were comfortable. We didn't find the sofas very comfy but that's personal taste. We didn't want to drive the lane to the property in the dark. If we had a 4 x 4 vehicle we might have felt differently, so it did mean that our days out were shortened sometimes to get back. Having only one key sometimes was a bit difficult, another key would be helpful.

We had a two night stay and we really enjoyed it. The hot tub, views and animals made this stay so lovely for us. There was enough space for the four of us 2 adults and 2 teens and we drove to nearby Haworth and Skipton for both afternoons for food and to explore, be mindful there is nothing in walking distance. We were left a bottle of prosecco and some small chocs which were a lovely touch. All the essentials were there for cleaning, towels, bedding etc. Id definitely recommend to family and friends. Lovely hosts.

We met as a family of 6 adults for Christmas. The place was warm & welcoming when we arrived and a Christmas tree is always a nice touch. There was a generous welcome pack of sweet goodies & a few basics. The communal area is well thought out and very homely. There are 2 en suites and the 3rd room had the generic bathroom to themselves. It would help if there were hooks on the back of the bedroom doors for longer items of clothing and dressing gowns. And we reported the blunt kitchen knives to the owners who were keen to rectify that as soon as possible. We always take our own knives just in case so it wasnt a big issue for us. The hot tub was a lovely novelty on Christmas Day with the lights of Keighley in the background and the animals give the place an extra talking point to and about! We would definitely book there again if we needed to.

Third year here. Love it. It is an adopted road so does have potholes but we tend to park up and depending on the weather walk or get taxi into town. Taxi we got was only 6 so very reasonable. Seeing all the animals a bonus. View while in hot tub great. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the old piggery. Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped for 4 adults. Everyone was very friendly and the animals added to the experience and kept us entertained. Good base for day trips to Skipton & Haworth. Would deffinately recommend.

A fabulous conversion to stay in. A little tired decor wise but this did not spoil our stat. A view to enjoy at all times of the day. Owners were so accommodating and so lovely . A great place to stay and enjoy all that East Yorkshire has to offer. The small holding is a great place to share the love of animals, and enjoy great company with those you love. Beautiful place, very clean and lovely views especially from the hot tub at night. The kitchen has everything you need . The owners were lovely and on site if we needed anything. Loved that there was tea , coffee, milk and biscuits for when we arrived and a bottle of prosecco for when in the hot tub. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm too. This is a lovely place to stay very comfortable and clean with spectacular views. Lots of places to visit. There is everything you could need in the kitchen that is very spacious and open plan to dining and living room. Lovely warm heating. With 3 showers and toilets very well provided for! The bedroom are quite small with very limited storage space for clothes but we managed. The beds were very comfortable which is the most important thing. The hot tub was wonderful. Great fun feeding the animals! With a welcome pack of Prosecco, milk, fresh farm eggs, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar much appreciated. Bit of a bumpy road to get to the cottage in an average car but we managed. This is a lovely cottage and would recommend.

Beautiful cottage with breathtaking views, lovely touches like fresh flowers, milk and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. The fresh duck eggs were delicious. Lovely opportunity to go round to meet and feed the animals.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Piggery over the Bank Holiday weekend. Perfect location for our toddler and the 2 dogs. The animals onsite are lovely to see, we loved the Peacocks and the little cat that came to greet us when we arrived. The cabin itself was beautiful and very clean, the views were amazing, especially from the hot tub with a glass of bubbly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Amazing property with lovely views and atmosphere. In the heart of a great area and not far from anything we needed or wanted to travel to. Owners were so nice and helpful and allowed us to meet the animals which really topped off our stay. We are looking forward to rebooking with them again !

We enjoyed a fabulous 5 days at The Old Piggery. Its a wonderful place to stay and Stu and Jo could not be better hosts. My children asked if they could feed and help care for the animals during our stay and they were so accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful with great views and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be returning soon.

I found the bedroom very hot, even with the thermostat turned down the floor remains warm but the fan was put to good use unable to open the window due to high winds . My granddaughter loved meeting all the animals and using the hot tub with grandad.

A lovely place to stay with excellent views. The owners were great and very friendly. The bottle of bubbly and milk in the fridge when we arrived was greatly appreciated, thank you. At one point we thought there was a problem with the Hot Tub, but there wasn't, the EC message on the display didn't stand for Error Code it stood for Economy, totally our fault as we didn't realise. However, when we rang one of the mobile numbers for someone to come and take a look, we didn't expect them to turn up so fast. Within 10 minutes a lady and gentleman arrived to sort it out, fantastic customer service I call that...! Overall, can't fault the accommodation or the service we received, the lane leading to the farm is a bit bumpy but otherwise nothing to complain about. We'll be back at some point for sure...!

Brilliant property, cosy and warm. Views were breathtaking. Lovely to watch sunset while in the hot tub. Shops within walking distance though coming back is mostly up hill but Im 68 and still managed. Had a lovely relaxing holiday and would definitely recommend. Went on steam train to Haworth and Oxenhope from Keighley. We went in October but hit on lucky with the weather.

Fabulous,so very well equipped, everything you could think of was there,immaculate, plenty of parking right outside the door,ramp for our disabled family member,walk in shower,all very accessible which made it perfect for us. The younger members absolutely loved the hot tub,very private,not overlooked.The animals made the holiday perfect,met them all and fed them. A perfect holiday for a variety of ages and abilities . Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

Just returned from a 4 night break , everything was as expected ,home from home clean ,comfortable and spacious , the views were fantastic from the patio which is private and not overlooked also th hot tub was an added bonus my two dogs were very happy as they had some good walks around the area , loved all the animals and their noises ! ! Lovely stay here with a few friends. Setting is beautiful and cottage is comfortable. Hot tub was great after a long walk and the hosts were so friendly and offered for us to meet and feed some of the rescue animals, which was a highlight of the trip. Would definitely return.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!

Located in the Castleford area of West Yorkshire this is a fun family day out with loads of activities under one roof. For the energetic there is a real snow slop for skiing and rock climbing walls. For the more laid back then there is a cinema and bowling alley. This place caters for all ages and there are seasonal events on throughout the year too. This attraction is described on their website as the "Ultimate Entertainment Destination " so why not check out their site for the latest admission costs and opening times?

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

about 26 Miles

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
