About Amber May

This elegant holiday retreat sits in the friendly Yorkshire village of Gargrave, within easy reach of the local pub, cafes, and shops. The pod is perfect for couples and solo travellers, offering the option to accommodate a child on a sofa bed if required.

The ancient market town of Skipton is 4.5 miles away and is renowned for its fabulous high street, full of independent shops, boutiques, and galleries. Whilst here, take time to admire the town’s stunning architecture, particularly at the 900-year-old castle.

Skipton is the southern gateway to the Dales, and during your stay, you can enjoy walks at nearby beauty spots such as Malham Cove, Bolton Abbey, and Gordale Scar (all within 10 miles). Further afield, spend a relaxing afternoon exploring the elegant spa town of Harrogate, 26 miles away.

The beautiful glamping pod enjoys a peaceful setting in the grounds of the owner’s home. Inside, this charming rural bolthole – with its striking wood-panelled walls and contemporary design – has been cleverly configured to include everything needed for a comfortable getaway.

Along one wall is a sleek kitchenette for rustling up breakfasts and light bites, and to the front of the pod is a charming dining table for two. After dinner, snuggle up on the sumptuous L-shaped sofa to watch a classic movie on the Smart TV.

To the rear of the lodge, partly partitioned, is a comfortable double bed to sink into after a busy day. Rounding off the accommodation is a refreshing shower room.

Outside, you’ll have a sunny patio area with outdoor furniture for enjoying an al fresco meal on a summer’s day. Delicious breakfast hampers and celebration packages can also be arranged (at an additional cost).

Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 18 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY
about 23 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 26 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 29 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
