Castle View Reviews

Castle View is located in a lovely tranquil area close to Scarborough. The accomodation was spectacular, had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hot tub was constantly maintained and kept hot,so all we had to do was press for bubbles. Staff friendly and helpful, and the resident peacock was an added attraction. I definitely recommend and I will definitely be booking again.

We 4 female friends stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The lodge was exactly as described. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hot tub was lovely and was ready for use when we arrived. There were plenty of towels. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues which were resolved quickly by Savhana and Wayne and these did not impact our stay. Overall, we had a great time and will be back soon.

Lovely lodge,we enjoyed this as our base as we explored the surrounding areas through the day. The Lodge itself is well maintained, added extras on arrival including 2 mini bottles of wine was a nice touch. The hot tub was well maintained. The decking could have done with a sweep but it was still nice. The setting could be improved, looking out onto a dumping yard, old abandoned hot tub and machinery items didn't give privacy when in the hot tub. If they improve the facilities and the view outside the lodge it would have been perfect. I particularly loved the resident peacock who would come over, he seemed relatively tame and used to people being around. We enjoyed our stay.

This place was wonderful, and tge little touches made our stay even better. Real friendly place and a fantastic location. We we be rebooking this place again in the summer. However 1 thing to inprove things would be a lock on the bathroom door.

Excellent property. Exactly as described. A lovely family holiday
Castle View was a great location Really nice cottage in a quiet area. The hot tub was dirty dead skin floating! Shower screen could have done with a clean. Apart from that everything else was okay. Really enjoyed the stay.
Accomodation was lovely and spacious, there was only 2 of us . Had everything we needed in the kitchen area living room the wife said she could of done with a dressing table and chair in main bedroom ,hot tub was lovely and checked by maintenance every morning .

Lovely property. Very peaceful site. We found the sofa unit awkward to get on and off at the extended end. A coffee table would have been useful. Quite dark in the immediate area at night not ideal for taking the dog out on the uneven ground. Take a torch. Lovely beds and bedding. Slept well. This was our favourite of the 3 properties.
Castle view provides a lovely location for a break quiet, immaculately clean and reasonably equipped in the kitchen. Hot tub was well maintained and we were left a nice welcome pack on arrival with coffee, milk and wine. Location is very near to the outskirts of Scarborough so plenty of places to eat and shop nearby.
On arrival we were looking forward to using the hot tub when we lifted the cover the water looked dirty we then noticed one side had the scum marks we used a scourer to clean this then left the tub running to flush the water through, the tiny freezer that was provided needed defrosting the bag of ice we had purchased had to be thrown away, the floor had been swept with a mop and left standing in corner with all the hair left in horrible, the kitchen did not provide the amount of cooking utensils for four people, the decking provide safety for our little dog but hot tub to near to trees ,the cleanliness really let this lovely little lodge down.

We have just returned from a pleasant 3 nights at Castle View. We loved the location being so close to Scarborough. The lodge had many positives. The beds were comfy, we were provided a number of towels which was useful for the hot tub and the bathroom. We were able to get takeaways delivered and cook. There were plenty of utensils etc. We were disappointed not to be able to use the hot tub on the first night as it was only 24 degrees. This would have been due to a water change but I have stayed many times at lodges with hot tubs and for a 3 night stay I would have expected to be able to use it on all 3 nights. The water change was obviously done too late in the day. I did message the owner regarding this and they apologised but I think a bit more than an apology was warranted when we specifically booked this lodge for the hot tub. It is worth mentioning too though that once the hot tub got up to temperature the next morning it stayed hot and kept the heat in well. The lodge looks over the campcaravan site. To let our dog out for the toilet we had to put her on a lead and take her to a small field a few minutes walk away. She loved this long grassed field and it had a mowed walkway too which was handy. The sofa in the lounge wasnt the comfiest. We ended up chilling in the hot tub or on the very comfy bed. We rested for a short break with the kids before they went back to school and it was nice to get away.
What an amazing property. The owners have thought of everything for a comfortable stay. Nothing too much trouble for the very friendly team that manage the property. Ideally situated a very short distance from the centre of Scarborough. Very easy to tour the coast. We used the park and ride which was so much easier than trying to find a space in the centre of town. Just over 5 for all of us. Would highly recommend this place to stay .
