Hayloft is a characterful barn conversion situated within the picturesque village of Staintondale, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, providing a welcoming base for families, friends, or couples eager to explore the Yorkshire coast and countryside. Race back from a day of exploring and sink into the hot tub to rest those well-worked muscles.
Arranged over two floors, the property blends traditional features with an inviting layout designed for relaxed breaks away. On the ground floor, the lounge showcases exposed beams and a substantial woodburning stove, creating a wonderful spot to unwind after a day outdoors, whether you’re sharing stories, planning tomorrow’s route or settling in with a good book.
Close by, the country?style kitchen provides everything needed for home?cooked meals, while the well?appointed bathroom completes the ground-floor accommodation. Two staircases lead to the sleeping areas, adding to the cottage’s individual charm.
The first staircase rises to a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, both framed by exposed beams and Velux windows that draw in natural light. The second staircase leads to an appealing mezzanine space overlooking the surrounding fields, offering a quiet retreat for reading or simply enjoying the rural outlook.
From the doorstep, guests can access two fantastic local routes: the Cleveland Way National Trail, which winds across the North York Moors and along the dramatic Yorkshire coastline through places such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby, and the Cinder Track, a largely traffic?free former railway line linking Scarborough and Whitby, ideal for walking and cycling. Nearby Scarborough offers traditional seaside attractions alongside cultural highlights, such as the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, renowned for its open-air performances and live music set against a striking coastal backdrop.
