This cottage was absolutely fabulous! It was warm and cosy, with plenty of room inside. The kitchen might be a bit tight for seating six, but since there were only two of us, it wasn't a problem at all. The three bedrooms were really big, with loads of cupboard space. The two bathrooms were very warm and cosyand the showers were really hot and powerful. We were surrounded by lovely countryside and met some really friendly people. We had a wonderful few days there and would definitely recommend it for a lovely short break.

It would be great if the company made it clear in the advertising that this was a wedding venue. We were really grateful for the upgrade to the barn since there were two weddings happening during our stay. Some of the facilities in the house could have been better. We had issues ranging from quite serious scalding hot water to more trivial things like a tricky kitchen that was missing a few basic items. The location was quiet and tranquiland the hot tub was well-maintained. We would definitely book again!

Big Sheep - EX39 5AP

about 12 Miles

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire. Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour. You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals. Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

about 18 Miles

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY

about 23 Miles

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
