The Perks is a conveniently located, semi-detached house set just a short walk from the popular beach at Scarborough in North Yorkshire. With the excellent facilities of one of England's oldest seaside resorts right on your doorstep, this is a fine choice for a much-deserved family getaway.

As well as an immaculate white shower room, the ground floor contains a pleasant sitting room warmed by a gas fire and with plenty of seating for the family to gather around for an evening of films and games. Head upstairs to reveal three comfortable bedrooms; a family room sleeping four people is perfect for the children to enjoy a sleepover whilst a king-size and a double room are perfect for couples.

We loved our stay at The Perks. It felt warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in.Everything we needed to make us feel at home was there.Our dogs enjoyed the garden but,we had plenty of nearby walks.The North side of Scarborough was only 15 mins away walking.The Perks is in a lovely area and not too far from other places.We would definitely stay again if visiting this area.

We love coming to The Perks, it is so convenient for us and makes our holiday in Scarborough all the more special. I have already booked for next year. On a note to future guests, please consider others and put the bins out on the days indicated. Our bins had not been put out by the previous guests, so we had to leave a full general waste bin for the next guests.

We love our summer holidays at the Perks and always have the most amazing time. The location and the house itself are brilliant, perfect for what we need as a family. The house improves each year we stay, with care taken by the owners to upgrade everything in the house gradually over time. We cant wait to return again next year.

A lovely house in a perfect location, the view from the bedroom is stunning. There is a pub nearby that does a good breakfast and the sealife centre and north bay beach are a ten minute walk. Thankyou for a great holiday.

Just arrived back from spending a lovely week here in Scarborough at the Perks , The house is an ideal place with good views. it's ideal if your travelling around yorkshire . The house was clean and tidy with almost everything you need provided . Our only gripe is the state of the gardens back and front the gardener did'nt attend while we were there though it stated they would be on the thursday and looks like they havn't been for awhile plus the decking area needs some attention and a good clean we would definately consider rebooking when we travel back to yorkshire

Beautiful home and garden with stunning sea views everything we needed to have a wonderful peaceful holiday ,our dogs loved playing in the garden we had great weather so spent most of our time in the summer room and the well maintained garden will definitely return here again.

We had a lovely week once again at The Perks,we have stayed in the property several times and have always felt happy there. The amenities are good the house is warm and well equipped.The enclosed rear garden is fairly large and great for our border collie,with a large patio area for sitting out weather permitting.

Much nicer than I expected. Very spacious and comfortable. Short walk to the sea front. I would definitely stay again.

Another great stay at The Perks. We always notice the upgrades year after year and appreciate them. The house was warm and cosy after some lovely long walks with our dogs. We couldn't get the built in dvd player to work, which was a shame, but we had plenty of choice with Netflix. Maybe the mattresses could be on the next upgrade. We'll be back next year!!

We had a wonderful stay at The Perks. The house is very spacious and welcoming, a mix of quirky, characterful and contemporary. It had everything there visitors could need. We had a great stay at the Perks once again, we have been returning to the Perks for several years now and will continue. We love Scarborough and the Perks has proved an ideal location for us. We love the dogfriendly beaches and the welcoming town, just a short bus ride away, so need to use the car and struggle with parking. We will be back next year.

The Perks was in a great location with a short walk to the beach and attractions in the North Bay. Bus train routes to the South Bay, Whitby, York were easy to get to. The view from the house is breathtaking and the owners providing binoculars were an added bonus! There were other thoughtful things provided such as lots of board games, outdoor games, films and an Xbox. The welcome box with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. I was disappointed to see when I stripped the bed on the last day stains on the duvet, mattress cover and mattress on the bed my son used. This isnt good and maybe who cleaned the property before we arrived didnt check this as all it needed was the mattress pillow covers and duvet changing and a mattress protector adding to my sons bed. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked, even with an air fryer. Nice enclosed garden with plenty of furniture. It was lovely sitting out there looking at Scarborough Castle. Pretty lights at night. The dog enjoyed the garden and seeing off the odd squirrel. I thought it was reasonable for the owners to ask for dog mess to be picked up. Good communication prior to arrival. The neighbours also introduced themselves and gave some good local tips. Overall it was a nice stay but I do think there are bits of the property that need revamping. Whilst I kept my dog downstairs as asked, the carpets upstairs did have a doggy smell and need a good clean.

Initial reaction not good due to porch area being dirty and unkempt. Once inside house clean and in quiet area, beds comfy, both showers good. Outside area at back could also do with some TLC but would still stay again.

We had a nice week in June at The Perks. It's a no frills kind of place but is very clean, reasonably comfortable and fairly priced. The location is great, very quiet and is 10 minutes walk from the Northmost promenade. What a fantastic view from the bedrooms upstairs, it is uninterrrupted and panoramic right across to the castle. There's also a nice, well kept garden, spoilt with the end section, that is fenced off and full off rubble. There's no garden furniture that we could see, but the decking and furniture overlooks it. it all could do with a spring clean tbf. The kitchen is in need of a facelift, the hob is part of the cooker, and is the old solid plate rings, which are nightmare to control. Overall it's a generous for us, and we would have no hesitation in returning.

Our stay at the Perks was wonderful. It had a very homely feel to it. It was clean & had all the facilities we needed. The beds were comfortable & the views were spectacular. There was a lovely decked area to sit out on & a beautiful garden. There was a path at the end of the road which led down to Scalby Mills & Sea life center & a bus round the corner into town which was 2. Everything was easily accessible even for my 80 Yr old dad. Would highly recommend.

Another great stay in Scarborough. We have stayed at The Perks numerous times. Although the property is dated in some areas, we can see the improvements every time we arrive. We have already booked for next year. The house is ideal for our requirements

On arrival there was a strange smell. This disappeared after we had opened the windows. Initially the house looked clean but on closer inspection it needed a good dust and the paintwork could have done with a clean. There was mold in one of the bedrooms and in the shower room. Also the shower door was only hanging on the top tracks. The wallpaper was coming off in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped, to the point where we had to keep food on the work top and table as there wasn't enough room in the cupboards. There was rusty and dirty utensils and the oven needed cleaning. There is a cot and high chair but no stairgate which would definitely have made life easier with a small child. Outside there was a part of decking which is beginning to rot. The footpath down the garden was uneven causing trip hazards and the garden needs work as the bushes are overgrown. On the plus side the location was very good and the Tunny Catch and The Old Scalby Mill served lovely food. The food and service at scalby Mill was excellent and they couldn't do enough for us. Also the vets at Swanzdale veterinary care center were excellent and we would recommend them in case of an emergency. A information pack would of been useful.

Property is in great location with ample parking and quiet area however the property was comfortable but could do with updating especially the cooker . Please note that the property states dog friendly however they are not allowed to use the garden as there toilet could I suggest maybe a section of the garden as dogs whilst staying at the property do need the toilet .

My family really enjoyed our stay at The Perks. Its ina great location close to the Sea Life center and North beach, and a short walk from buses that head to South beach. The house was clean with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and an home away from home. I would definitely recommend this place and will be booking again.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the perks several times. It is a warm friendly environment,ideally situated for the beach and beautiful theme park a short drive away. There are great walks for fellow dog owners and the rear garden well loved by our border collie Poppy. The house itself is well appointed with washing machine and dishwasher and a newly fitted gas fire that was welcomed when one or two evenings were a bit chilly. In the kitchen it was pleasing to see the addition of an air fryer which was very useful. I highly recommend this property,it is exactly as it shows on the website.

Location Location Location! !! Finally managed to get to stay at this very cosy, comfortable, dog friendly cottage and booked a return visit within 24 hrs of being there!!! Very much feels homely and provides everything you need. Excellent for dogs with secure large garden. We had snow when we were there and made the most of walking directly out of the house, less than 5 mins to promenade and beach and spent lots of time exploring parts of Scarborough wed not been to before, as well as Bridlington, Robin Hoods Bay and Filey. Cant wait to go back!!!

Only 3 things that come to mind 1 Curtains needed on the small windows by the front door 2 Curtain needed on the landing window 3 Dog hairs by the last guests in main room and items left in draws by the bed, both issues should have been addressed by the last guests or your cleaners Kind regards Nick and Jo

We had a lovely time at The Perks. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious with excellent facilities. Highly recommended.

Lovely and big property feels homey have been 3 times and will go again, brilliant outside for dog and not far from beach. Has all amenities you will need.

The toilet up stairs get stuck on the toilet if you try to open the door wide . Sofa's lovely & comfortable & lots of them comy beds .The fridge & freezer hadn't been cleaned so we did that before we put food in in general it just needs a be of TLC .The back gardenporch was great for dog stuff & wiping their paws when we'd been out . Love the space in the kitchen & lounge .outside lights wasn't all working. I would stay there again .

This was not our first time at the Perks nor will it be our last. It is comfortable and wellequipped, and the two back bedrooms and garden have lovely views of the castle. The location is perfect for our needs, out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the South side and within walking distance of the dogfriendly beach. We love it and have recommended it to friends and family.

The house was excellent, and you can't beat the value for money. A quick, and beautiful walk to the beach. If the weather is too hot or rainy the bus service is a 2 minute walk away and will take you straight into the southside. The only slight issue we had is that the rose Bush was slightly overgrown causing a slight hazard to small children and dogs. But with the crazy weather this year, I'm guessing this couldn't be helped If it wasn't already booked up for next year, we would have definitely booked again!

We loved the property and it was well equipped. Great having the guitar as we couldn't pack both our guitars so very happy husband.Loved how close it was to the sea front and sea life centre. The down side the house was it was filthy, I think they need another cleaning service, you can't get in late due to their extensive cleaning but cupboards and pots caked in dust,All round the edges of the rooms thick with dust and on the carpet too.Such a shame as it's a little gem.

We have been staying at the Perks for a number of years now and would highly recommend it for family holidays. The location of the house is perfect for exploring all of Scarborough. As always we noticed improvements have been made to the house this year. It is always very clean and comfortable there, a real home away from home. My children cry every time we have to leave! Thanks to the Perks for a wonderful holiday once again.

The property is very outdated. It didn't look or smell like it had been cleaned prior to our visit. The lounge carpet was disgusting and full of stains. The smell was quite strong on entry and had to open windows as it smelt very fusty.

Well equipped, clean and a great location. I think it might be a good idea to remove all the 50's70's furniture and fixtures and replace with some newer stuff, because it let's the place down a little. I'd stay here again though, we enjoyed it.

This is our first stay at The Perks and we had a lovely time. It was clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were easily contactable for any queries which is great too. May well be back others years.
