The Bishop Reviews

James
We stayed here recently and loved the place! Very cosy and well set-up for four of us plus our dog. The kitchen and lounge are really well equipped. It’s a great spot, just a short drive to Moffat and nearby attractions. The local pub is perfect for a quick bite and dog-friendly too.
Emma
The cottage was really cosy and spotless, with a well-stocked kitchen. The shower was a bit slippery, so a mat would help. The door didn’t close perfectly, but it didn’t ruin our peaceful stay. Lovely owners, we’d return!
Oliver
Comfortable and nice

We had a lovely stay! The place was surprisingly roomy-way more spacious than the pictures suggested. The village has a handy Co-op, which was convenient. Unfortunately, it rained almost the whole time, so we couldn’t do much exploring locally. Instead, we drove to Edinburgh and Carlisle for some entertainment with the teens. We also enjoyed relaxing at the property, especially with the hot tub, which was fantastic. The owners provided clear instructions and all the chemicals needed. Definitely recommend!
Emma
We absolutely loved our time here! Suzanne was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, going the extra mile to make our stay special. The Shepherd's hut is in such a lovely, peaceful spot and has all the essentials. This was our second visitand we definitely plan to come back again. Thanks for a fantastic experience, we really enjoyed it!

We had a lovely stay! The scenery is stunningand we enjoyed the trek to Grey Mare's Tail and Loch Skeen, which was really worth it. Visiting Durmlanrig Castle and Powfoot Beach added to the trip. Coming back to our private hot-tub was a perfect way to unwind after a busy day. Definitely recommend for a relaxing break!
Emma
We had a fantastic stay! The log cabin was just what we wanted-super cosy and spotless. The owners were lovely, greeting us warmly and even setting up the hot tub before we arrived. They gave us a quick tour and had fresh milk and tea waiting, which was a nice touch after a long trip. The location was perfectand their tips on local spots like Hugo’s for lunch were spot on. Our daughter adored it too. Definitely a place we’d come back to!
Emma

We stayed here from Friday to Monday and had such a lovely time. The lodge cabin was super cosy and had everything we needed - it’s really well equipped. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for relaxing. We brought our own towels to wrap up and some flip flops to keep our feet clean before getting in. There’s a hotel at the top of the hill serving food, which was handy. Plenty of space around for the kids to playand the owner was really friendly and helpful. We grabbed some fish and chips from Moffat and ate them in the cabinand bought ice for our drinks. Definitely planning to come back!
