This picturesque countryside spot is a playground for keen outdoor explorers, with the ancient heathland and woodland of the breathtaking New Forest National Park awaiting to be explored just half a mile from the doorstep.

Venture to the historic market town of Ringwood, which boasts gorgeous Georgian buildings, a fabulous weekly street market brimming with local produce and a wonderfully charming old-world atmosphere. Enjoy a traditional bucket and spade day at Poole, 18 miles away on the Dorset coast, home to miles of gloriously golden sands, and Poole Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world.

Alternatively, the coastal haven of Bournemouth is 12 miles away. Through a traditional stable door, you’re welcomed into the spacious yet cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this bolthole.

Boasting a striking exposed brick wall and stunning original beams, this wonderfully social space combines homely, rustic touches with contemporary country cottage-style decor that embraces the scenic surrounding countryside. The comfortable sofas and farmhouse-style dining table provide plenty of space to relax at the end of a busy day’s adventure; the sofa can be converted into a bed to accommodate an additional two guests.

A wide hallway leads to the stylish shower room, which features a large glass-sided walk-in shower that is wheelchair friendly. With more exposed brickwork and a characterful sloping ceiling, the peaceful king-size bedroom offers a haven of tranquillity to retreat to and crisp, white linens ensure a restful sleep.

A traditional stable door provides access to the rear patio, which is a suntrap and ideal for enjoying a spot of al fresco dining on sunny afternoons and summer evenings. The hot tub is the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and watch the wildlife.

This is a really fun and memorable attraction which is suitable for day trips or short breaks.  You can buy your tickets online which will help you beat the queues especially in school holidays as well as save money.  With a whole host of attractions and thrilling rides there might not be enough time in the day!  Exciting rides include the Edge and The Cobra.  More family friendly rides for younger children include the Magic Carpet Ride and the Flying Frog.  We are sure the whole family will have fun at Paultons so check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.

Paultons Family Theme Park has recently been greatly improved to include many new attractions for younger visitors. The brand new Peppa Pig World features 7 amazing new rides and an Indoor Play Area to keep the little ones amused for hours. Of course those looking for more adrenaline boosting activities will not be disappointed either as there are over 60 rides in total to try out. The mighty Edge ride and the terrifying Cobra rollercoaster are the ones to go for if white knuckle rides are your thing. Live entertainment is also on offer several times throughout the season including some amazing family shows such as "The Light Fantastic" which takes place this October.

Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
Fort Victoria - PO41 0RR

Fort Victoria is many attractions in one convenient location. What once was a historically important fort is now home to a Marine Aquarium, a Model Railway, a Sea Bed Archaeology Exhibition and a Planetarium. The Country Park also offers delightful woodland walks. Countryside Rangers are on hand to give guided walks of the seashore and the woodland. Admission to the park is free of charge but each of the attractions incur a small charge.
Royal Victoria Country Park - SO31 5GA

Royal Victoria Country Park is highly recommended for a day out in the summer and has lots of things for children to do. There are woodland trails to explore with free maps and guides available. There are also several play areas, one for older children, one for the little ones and one for disabled children so no one is left out of the fun. Within the grounds there is also a heritage site, a tea room and a formal garden.
Go Ape -

Go Ape in Hampshire offers a unique opportunity for energetic adults and children over 10 to let off steam. The fun packed tree top adventure involves swinging through trees, climbing cargo nets, descending down zip wires and trekking through the canopies. Only for those with a good head for heights!  The longest Zip wire is a staggering 165m providing adrenaline boosting fun! The site also has a picnic area and kids playground.
Play & Farm Park - PO31 8PE

Described as the Isle of Wight's multi activity and play Farm park this attraction will really appeal to families looking for a fun day out.  Recently improvements have been made to enlarge the straw fun play barn and this is now the biggest indoor play space on the island.  This farm is now split into separate attractions, the play barns and petting farm which include rides on tractors and trailors and the tractor driving experience. Open all year this place is also excellent value for money.
Monkey World - BH20 6HH

Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
Robin Hill Country Adventure Park - PO30 2NU

This is an award winning attraction on the isle of wight with so much to see and do.  From thrilling rides for the whole family to challenging play for younger kids they have thought of everything.  One of the highlights is the Falconry where you can see some of the most breathtaking displays in the UK.  You can also get a taste of nature and history here from red squirrels to romans.  The great value freedon tickets are well worth the money allowing you to return to the park as often as you like for 7 days.

Robin Hill Adventure Park and Gardens is an award willing attraction offering an amazing experience which includes thrilling rides, exciting shows and animal experiences. The park also offers excellent value as one ticked gets visitors in to 2 parks and you can come back as many times as you wish within 7 days. Rides include the family friendly Toboggan Run and Colossus Swinging Galleon but one of the parks most popular attractions is the Falconry where visitors can enjoy some of the finest flying displays in the UK. The park also has a fantastic nature area where Red squirrel safaris are just one of the attractions.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Appley Park - PO33 1ND

Appley Park is a great place for families with young children to spend the day and is especially popular during the summer months. Within the park is a playground with pirate ship, a selection of slides and swings and a pathway leading down to a lovely sandy beach. The nearby seafront also has many attractions including a paddling pool and a 9 hole Pitch and Putt course as well as a water play area.
