15 Horizon View Reviews

Lovely lodge, very good location and privacy. Nicely fitted out but would have liked a little more local site information. One negative was dinner we had at the sister site . Main course took 1hr 20 mins to arrive and 10 minutes later a quiz started so it was impossible to order a desert or coffee.
We have stayed in a number of different lodges at Southern Halt but no 15 Horizon View is one of our favourites. It is secluded and well maintained. The booking process with Sykes is always easy and efficient and you are sent information on several occasions before you actually arrive. Thats why we use them and regularly visit this location.
Had another fantastic week at 15 Horizon View only issue was the light in the hot tub didnt work and was very dark outside by the hot tub could do with an outside light near it .

We had a fantastic stay at 15 Horizon View. The lodge was beautifully presented and felt really homely. The positioning of the lodges gave a great sense of privacy and we loved spotting wildlife just outside our window. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again.

Great peaceful location, we had a great family time. Nice property.
If you want quiet and privacy then this is the lodge for you. Very clean, everything you need. I think this lodge is situated in the best place on the site. Surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, overlooked by no one. Would definitely stay again.

This is the first time we have stayed in a lodge as I normally book cottages, when we arrived at number 15 horizon view, I knew I had made a good choice, it was nice and clean and well equipped, the hot tub was also good for when you have been out for the day, it was also private and not over looked.

Loved the property 3rd year on the trott staying in this property
We absolutely loved our stay with you. Wish we could have stayed for longer. Everything was just so perfect! Thank you
Richard
Great holiday property, very clean, ample storage for all you clothes and food. The hot tub was also clean and hot ready for us to jump straight in. The lodge itself is positioned near a small lookout mound and a grass area in the park, good for the dogs to have a walk around. If I was to criticise anything the T.v wasn't working when we arrived, there was no arial connector just a wire shoved in the back of the T.v. We did report it and was offered to fix but we brought a fire stick with us, which we plugged in and that was good enough for us, just reported for the next user's. Also the decking could do with a clean and a power wash, very green and slippy in places. Other then that we had no issues with heating, water or wifi, the lodge was warm when we arrived, with a welcome pack of things to do, restaurants and places to visit. Maybe a small instruction manual on how to use some of the appliances, oven, dishwasher, hottub might be helpful for other guests. Overall we had a really lovely time visiting many places around the area with the dogs and it was nice to come back to the lodge a relax in the hottub after a long day walking. I would recommend this lodge to others and would be more the happy to visit again. Thankyou.

5 day stay at 15 horizon view. Absolutely beautiful place quiet private and not overlooked at all . Welcome pack was a nice touch and the curtesy phone call while on our way to say it was ready early was well received thank you. Was a lovely place to come back to after a busy day seeing the sights and the hot tub was great for relaxing. The cabin had all the things youd need for your stay all the way down to bathrobes which were unexpected but very appreciated . All in all 5
Everything was perfect apart from the signal for the television in the living room. Would stay there again
Carole
Fantastic property. Clean comfortable and everything you need for your stay. Made extra special as its situation makes you feel that youre in your own private garden.. then topped off by the hot tub. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely stay and really loved the lodge although there was an issue with the hot tub tipping the electric and not heating this was remedied within a reasonable time frame especially as this occurred over the weekend. The lodge was very private and extremely comfortable and well equipped. Thank you.
Joseph
Really enjoyed our stay got to see all the family and friends, will be returning shortly thank you so much.
The property was amazing. So much better than anticipated. It was such a quiet location which is what we wanted and the dogs enjoyed sniffing around on their walks where the wild rabbits had been. Our hot tub was topped up and extra cleaning took place regularly. We loved finding all the local facilities with a shop a few mins drive away, take aways 1015 mins drive and a great location to explore Cornwall. For me, the mattresses were a little soft which caused some discomfort but that is a personal thing and not the fault of the owners of the lodge, we cannot be the same. But overall, a really fantastic holiday with everything in the lodge that you will need.

This was our second stay at 15 Horizon view no complaints lovely place comfortable clean great location, a cover over the hot tub would be a great addition and maybe a light as quite dark even a string of solar lights would be good, will be back next year
Michael
After staying in ample of lodges over the years, this has by far, been one of our most impressive places. Horizon 15 was perfect for us, it is not overlooked by other lodges and you have your own private garden area which is just so lovely to sit and relax outside, as well as sitting in the hot tub. If privacy is one of your musts, then this is the perfect lodge. The grounds are immaculate, well maintained and clean. Tracey on reception has amazing customer service. She called ahead to inform us that our lodge was ready early if we wanted to arrive earlier then expected, she followed up the day after to see if our lodge and stay was going well etc. The lodge itself was bright and extremely clean and comfortable. Can not fault our stay at all. If we were to nit pick, then we would say that the jets in the hot tub arnt that great, but this did not put us off from rebooking.

Hi from Maggie thanks for a lovely quiet week we have a wonderful time this place has a lovely quiet setting and very secluded spot we have already booked again I would recommend and are looking forward to our next stay thank you very much maggie
We had a great week at 15 Horizon View. We arrived and the lodge was clean and tidy. Hot tub was great, perfect for relaxing. Overall great and will definitely book again.
The lodge was absolutely fabulous. The decor was beautiful and it was very well looked after and clean. The surroundings were lovely too! We are looking to book again next year and have told our don about to! Many thanks for a fab stay!
Just returned from a lovely 7 night break. 15 Horizon view is lovely, it doesnt have the view that other properties do but what it has is privacy in abundance which was lovely. The property had everything you could possibly need if you prefer to cook at home. Beds were extremely comfortable, bathrooms spacious. The only slight down side was the toilet flush in the ensuite was broken on arrival, just meant was more difficult to use but functioned and didnt distract from the rest of the properties charm. The hot tub is serviced each day, which was great to soak in after a busy day exploring the beauties of Cornwall. Would definitely recommend a real home from home.
Lovely ,secluded and site totally evolves around having a peaceful and private ... Lovely ,secluded and site totally evolves around having a peaceful and private holiday experience nice to use hot tub and totally private absolutuy loved this place and will def be coming back , so did the dogs
This was our second time staying at this lodge and we will be staying again. It is PERFECT!! The lodge is absolutely spotless and has everything you would need for your stay in terms of kitchen utensils and things. The grounds are so safe for both dogs and children. This is a holiday home that works for both couples and families. The only thing I would say and it is the only downside, the pillows are terribly soft and the master bed is soft and the bed is not the best experience in the world as it is soft and the mattress tries to chuck you out of the bed. That really is the only negative though.
The only thing I would like to say is that it would be nice to have some kind of enclosure around the property to stop the dog from running off. One of them is brilliant and doesnt go anywhere at all without us, the younger one explores a bit more and so had to be tied up to stop him running away.
Jonathan
Wow! What a fantastic holiday cabin. The photos really don't do it justice. We spent a lovely week here, the cabin is immaculate and equipped with everything a family needs. We have booked with Sykes numerous times over the years but this place goes above and beyond. Perfectly situated in Cornwall in lovely grounds. 5 stars plus!!
Fantastic lodge comfortable clean, have recommended it and will be back
Excellent property. Well presented and an ideal base to explore Cornwall. Staff were friendly and helpful. The property was called 15 Horizon View. There is no view of the horizon but this is more than compensated for by the lovely shrubs and trees and the privacy they provided. A great break.
This is our second stay at Southern Halt. Previously we stayed in 9 Faraway Fields and had a brilliant time in Oct 2022. 15 Horizon View was just as perfect. Clean, spacious, has all the amenities you could need and a perfect get away for our little family, including a toddler and a small dog. Despite being away in February, there was so much natural light in the property and the gardens including the hot tub was well kept. Look forward to coming back again soon.
Michael
Beautiful lodge, Beautiful surroundings, Beautiful location, Private corner plot ... Beautiful lodge, Beautiful surroundings, Beautiful location, Private corner plot surrounded by wildlife & plenty of space 1010 Great relaxing stay highly recommend 1010 Dog friendly, Shame trained dogs cant be let of lead to run about as it quite dangerous to take the dog for walk out of lodging site, No pavements 810 Cleanliness of lodge 810 could have been cleaner, we cleaned floors & hoovered on arrival & the vacuum bag got Full when finished We left the lodge cleaner than when we arrived I would definitely come back & stay We left Happy & had a great time there Staff friendly when we seen them not often 1010 HotTub Amazing & checked daily by maintenance, Great guys very helpful Much appreciated Thank you Michael Gillard
The only things we found a problem were the flush on the en suite toilet didn't seem to work properly & also no cutlery basket in dishwasher. ..had to lay cutlery on the rack ! Otherwise everything else was perfect .
The lodge is lovely, the photos of it are accurate. The external photos of the grounds around the lodge need updating! In the pictures it looks quite open but the shrubs trees have grown so much that it's quite enclosed. The name also leads you to think there are good views but there are no views because of the trees, shrubs. Shame because it's a lovely lodge. Also,as the trees etc are quite close to the lodge, it does make it a bit gloomy inside on a less than sunny day. This was our second stay at Southern Halt & it is a lovely site & would recommend it. We also like the fact that the lodges are so well equipped, definitely a home from home. Having looked around,we would choose a different lodge with better views. We also like that you feel secluded as the lodges are not on top of each other.
Water was turned of one morning and diverted to the hot tub, we were not told about this and discovered it when trying to use the shower. Had to leave a message as phone was not answered but someone came round relatively quickly to turn the water back on. Not sure why this happened as it was evident we were in curtains shut and car on drive.
Everything is amazing about this place
