If you’re looking for a relaxed Cornish base for a holiday with family or friends, stay at this reimagined stone cottage in the heart of Trebetherick. Plan relaxing days exploring the North Cornwall coast, with excellent beaches nearby – Rock, Polzeath, Greenaway and Daymer Bay are all within 1.5 miles.
The village itself has a friendly, laid-back feel, with two excellent restaurants serving up local fare within 200 metres. There’s plenty to keep active visitors happy, too, from surfing and golf to yoga sessions by the sea.
For scenic walks, head to Pentire Headland (2 miles) for sweeping coastal views, or catch the foot ferry from Rock (3 miles) across the River Camel to Padstow, famed for its bustling harbour and seafood restaurants. With attractions such as Tintagel Castle, Pencarrow House and Gardens and Bodmin Jail all within 15 miles, there’s plenty to fill your days before returning to this retreat.
Step inside and drop your coats and shoes in the light-filled entrance hall before heading into the spacious open-plan living area. This is an airy and sociable hub for spending time together, with a high vaulted ceiling and French doors so you can let the outside in.
Sink into plush seating, keeping warm with the wood burner if it’s cold, and gather around the dining table for leisurely meals. Three of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor – a double with an en-suite shower room and two lovely twin rooms– along with a family shower room and a practical utility space complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional wet room.
Upstairs is a king-size room, complete with its own en-suite bathroom and Smart TV. Outside, sliding doors lead out to a charming courtyard where you can sit down to fresh-air meals.
