Upon arrival our frst impressions was not the best, unfortunaty outside the accommodation really needs attention as it was being over grown with weeds, the gate when opened was catching on the floor . When entering the property we where greeted with a very strong foisty smell which sayed with us the entire time although it did get fainter when checked the outside the decking and hot tub lid had foliage on it fron the trees the hot tub wasnt up to temperature ,with this i rang Sykes i was informed the hot tub had been cleaned it took so long to heat up we lost a day, unfortunatly the lights and half of the jets were'nt working the decking up stairs was just as bad for foliage and the bbq hadened been cleaned since the last time it was used .overall experience was dissapionting the accommodation it self was nice, clean and warm the wifi code was'nt complete so had to take a picture of the router to get the correct information just one more thing regarding the hot tub with it not been sunken a set of steps would be a good idea especially for those with mobily issuses, the bottom line is a little more attenion to detail it makes all the difference .I take no pleasure in writing this review we take a lot of these kind of breaks as it was the first time we'd been that far over 400 miles we expected at least the hot tub to be ready

The lodge is on a lovely complex that is very well maintained and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pool and gym are a great bonus and we used the pool everyday. The lodge was clean and well equipped, had everything you need for a short break. The hot tub was a nice addition unfortunately after the Tuesday we could no longer use it as it became clear that someone else on site was using it and that didn't seem very hygienic.

The place was lovely and cosy but it was very cold when we arrived in the lodge so maybe the caretaker could of put the heating on which would of made it perfect but it did warm up after a few hours, and we could of done with some instructions on the hot tub we wasnt sure if it was supposed to be left on all the time we did clean and tidy the best we could but we had no facilities to sweep floors and clean sides and cooker the surrounding complex was a bit disappointing as the swimming pools were closed for maintenance and the games room was not maned half the machines were not working and the pool table was a pound ago and half the time the balls wouldnt come down so we had no one to ask to help, The gym was open but our 16 year old grandson was not allowed to use the gym with his granddad and dad as the the owners wouldnt let him in because of his age but he would of been supervised by the adults hes a competent user as he is a well know climber in Devon region so that spoilt his week so personal I think the complex needs to put these comments into consideration when people book and expect to have the facilities offered to them Overall the lodge was good but the complex a disappointment
Very comfortable clean getaway, good location to explore the area, nice pub , ... Very comfortable clean getaway, good location to explore the area, nice pub , good food far better break than I was expecting

The lodge was lovely and very spacious. It was a little difficult to find, as the postcode was incorrect. The hot tub was lovely, there was a pub onsite, and the food was delicious

On suite bedroom and twin where great but the double bedroom only has a 34 size bed in it. My Son and Daughter in Law could not sleep in it together. They took turns on the couch. They did not get a decent nights sleep for the whole week. Hence we would not rebook that lodge again. We would return to Honicombe village again but not that lodge.

The property is lovely and very well catered with everything you need however the site could do with maintenance as it looks run down and very old. you have to book for indooroutdoor swimming AND the play park so you need to plan in advance. Swimming pool is very basic with limited activities.
Only booked for 2 days, looking for a place to take some relatives over from Australia, who wanted to fit a trip to Cornwall into their schedule. Great place ,friendly staff, and a pub on site that does food. We were really pleased we booked. The only problem and it really was the postcode on our paperwork was wrong , PL178NQ took us to a small hamlet in the middle of now wear with closed off roads. Not what you want after a long drive. Recommend this place for a great base to tour and relaxing stay. Lodge had all we needed, and was spotlessly clean.
