4 Meadow Retreat Reviews

Our family got together at 4 Meadow Retreat and we had a fantastic week! The accommodation was spacious enough for 7 adults and a baby. It was very clean and the hot tub was so relaxing after a busy day out exploring Cornwall. The entrance gate wasn't closing and a chair was broken on arrival and repairs were made on the same day as I reported them, which was much appreciated. It is a lovely quiet holiday park and very pretty with trees and a pond opposite the lodge. Our granddaughter loved watching the moor hens every morning. We will return again in the near future.
We recently stayed at 4 Meadow Retreat and overall had a lovely time. The site is lovely and peaceful. The cabin is very spacious and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. It was really well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, hoover, toiletries and all the essentials, which made it feel like a home from home. We did have a couple of minor issues during our stay. A TV remote was missing when we arrived they didnt have a spare so we had to use 1 remote for 2 tvs and the patio doors were quite difficult to close. We were told this is because the sun is on them all day and they swell in the heat. Also, the outside windows and the glass fencing around the decking could have been cleaner, as this is one of the first things you notice when you're sitting outside enjoying the view. My main disappointment was the lack of privacy around the hot tub. Unlike many of the other cabins, where the hot tub is built into the decking and on the side of the cabin, this one is positioned at the front and sits above the height of the frosted fencing. This means that when getting in or out of the hot tub, you're clearly visible to the neighbouring cabins on both sides and to anyone passing on the road. The frosted glass doesn't really serve its purpose because the hot tub sits higher than the fence if the hot tub was built into the decking it would be fine. Despite these issues, we still really enjoyed our stay it. With a few improvements to the cleanliness of the outdoor areas and the privacy around the hot tub, this would be an excellent place to stay. I would also advise a welcome pack just explaining things like the WiFi, car charging and possibly thing like where the local supermarket is.

What a wonderful stay we just had at 4 Meadow Retreat! Comfy beds, great facilities and so peaceful! We had a fabulous stay with everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub too! Would definitely recommend! The only feedback would be that I didnt get any info in my emails about how to use the EV charger, after speaking to the site team at Southern Halt I got a link which was super simple to use so wish that had been included in the Sykes welcome info emails instead!
Had a great week at 4 Meadow Retreat, Southernhay. Perfect size for our needs, comfortable and has all needed equipment. Spoiled with the weather so only criticism would be lack of black out blindscurtains in the bedrooms. Great location for seeing lots of Cornwall if you want, but also a nice peaceful quite site.
Sykes process for booking was seamless. Property clean and nice.
This was our second stay in Meadow Retreat and it was lovely. Having two ensuites plus a family bathroom is perfect for our group. The parking for two vehicles was great, as the weather was bad it meant we didnt have far to go to unload our gear and risk getting wet. The lodge is warm and cosy, with comfortable beds and a great hot tub. The site is lovely and quiet and perfect for exploring with Looe 20 minutes drive, Siblyback just up the road. It was more expensive to book in January than in October, but still worth every penny for us.
What a beautiful lodge! Everything you need to have a wonderful holiday. Its also the little touches like milk in the fridge and a welcome box with a starter kit for you of tea and coffee and dish soap etc. Dressing gowns in the two larger bedrooms and little bottles of shampoo etc in the en suites for your first night incase youve forgotten. Just like being in a hotel and spotlessly clean. Place settings for 12 and more glasses than I have ever seen in a holiday rental. Just fabulous and Laura who was our contact was excellent, so friendly. Would recommend it to anyone we had a lovely time and our little dog enjoyed it too .
Lovely property to stay in for the week. Had everything you could need to live comfortably. Hot tub was well maintained and cleaned daily. Lots of hot water for showers etc. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely long weekend and the lodge gave us everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Parking for 2 vehicles beside the lodge was great. This is a peaceful site which was what we were after. Dobwalls is a good location to explore Looe, St Austell with its shops and Eden was around 30 minutes drive. We have rebooked for 2026!

Fantastic venue and great customer service! I would highly recommend this place to another families or group of friends looking to holiday together, the place was incredibly clean, facilities all working and the area was super quiet. Sally was also super helpful letting me know when the property was available sooner and really helpful in recommending some taxi companies!
Fantastic stay, highly recommend very clean and comfortable added bonus of the hot tub we will definitely be back
Another fabulous stay at Southern Halt. 4 Meadow Retreat was fabulous. Clean, cosy and welcoming. Loved the Christmas tree. Comfortable for 6 adults. Would benefit from some more baking trays, a chopping board, a few more mugs in the kitchen and hooks on the bathroom doors for gowns and wash bags. Otherwise perfect.
Lovely lodge and park, would return. Would be nice as it is dog friendly if a non slip mat was provided and 2 dog bowls. Also could not shut 2 of the bedroom doors as they did not fit the frames properly, just a little tweak otherwise perfect, thank you
Wow, where do I begin. 4 meadow retreat was an absolute delight, the surroundings are absolutely stunning. The cleanliness throughout the whole of the lodge was incredible, the lodge catered for everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Not to forget, the hot tub is a brilliant addition to this place. There were 4 adults and 4 children on our trip and we all had such a fab holiday. Can't wait to return next year!

We had the most wonderful stay at 4 Meadow Retreat my only regret is that I wish I'd booked to stay for longer! !! The lodge was so impressive and it really wowed us as soon as we pulled up. It was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed for a family of 8 6 adults and 2 children. We appreciated the lovely little touches like the welcome pack, which had essentials like tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Southern Halt's grounds are beautiful the photos really don't do it justice. The lodge looked out over the pond and my son loved spotting the rabbits hopping around it. Thank you for the most wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back again next year!
