Atlantic Watch 8

Beautiful house with fantastic views of the sea. Excellent location, so close to Carbis Bay Station a 3 min train ride from St Ives. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The sofa in the living room is not the most comfortable but it is functional. Well equipped spacious kitchen with everything we needed. Lovely bathrooms and great showers. So lovely to have the hot tub too. The information pack needs updating as some of the information in the folder is clearly out of date now. We loved our stay and would definitely return to Atlantic Watch 8.

We had a great week in this property. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the appliances and furnishings were high quality. Only 2 small niggles, the hot tub can be seen by people walking past the property, it would have been better if the glass frosting could have been higher up to give a little more privacy. Also having never come across locked wheelie bins before the bin men did not empty as I put the bin out locked in the information book it would have been a good idea to state 'put unlocked wheelie bin out Thursday evening. Having said that the information folder was very helpful. Overall a fantastic property in a fantastic location and would use it again in the future.

Excellent accommodation only downside and not owners fault is access to beach is not good for people with mobility problems so was unable to enjoy the beach or get to train station View out of window and while in hot tub is breathtaking though.

We loved our stay and hope to return. The only slight thought was heated towel rails would have been great.

For the second year running and 3rd booking with Sykes we have had a great stay and lovely accommodation. Amazing views and great location. That said however, all 3 stays need TLC. The latest 8 Atlantic Watch as the previous had v dirty flooring. So much so we bought a speed mop and wipes. We used 24 wipes and the flooring was still dirty. Exactly the same on the 2 properties last year. Also little things like the wine fridge not working and a light socket exposed and dangerous were apparent. Some of the bath towels also were stained in red in certain areas. When u are paying so much things should be perfect to be honest. I feel maybe the housekeeping should be addressed more as really no excuses for dirty floors.

We have stayed at the property 3 years running, came in 2023 for our honeymoon and loved it so came back 2024 and again this year. Upon arrival and after we unpacked after a long drive we wanted to relax in thr hot tub as thats the main reason we booked this property in the first place Only one of the jets were working and as it was a weekend I could not get hold of anyone as the phone lines were also down. Despite numerous messages there was no response so I called on the following Monday and managed to speak to someone only to be told noone would be out until Tuesday which is thr normal maintenance day for the property. So 3 days with no hot tub. The pool chap sorted it in a fashion and got a couple more working sort of but was not working correctly, came again as part needed would not arrive and removed the part so that all jets worked for remainder of our stay 2 days! To have paid the amount we did and only have the hot tub working for 2 days is not acceptable and despite numerous emails to complain I have received no response. Since we stayed in June it is now September I don't think I am being unreasonable at my annoyance at not even having one call or email addressing this complaint. Diabolical customer service and I will not be dropping this until I receive satisfactory response and refund for not having use of a functional hot tub as stated in the property description

Accommodation location perfect and as expected having previously stayed at a neighbouring property. Really shocked to walk in and find 2 large laundry bags in the kitchen, either dirty from previous stay or clean ready for the next stay?! Cleanliness of the kitchen and utensilsmicrowave was way below the 4.5 rating and price we paid. We had to clean what we were going to use before hand. Kitchen cupboards as stated in a previous review still had crumbs in. Could do with some maintenance especially light switches, coat hooks in the kitchen, extract vents. Living lamp didnt work. Would be really useful to have more hooks in Bathroombedroom doors for towelsrobes and hooks on patio area for robes. Was surprised at no welcome pack other than pint of milk. There was an empty bag on the table? Was this ours to use? Not being picky other than the cleanliness just observations. On the whole enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

This is a great home in a great location. The hot tub is great and gets cleaned reguarly. Cleanliness is average, eg under the sofa isnt clean and skirting boards. Things need moving out to clean, with it being a beach property. The owner does provide beach or hot tub towels well 4 colourful towels on top of the white ones which is great, as it says these arent provided. There were also basics like tea, coffee, milk, also washing powder to use the washing machine which was very helpful. There is also a body board and a wind breaker in the cupboard. Before we stayed, I contacted carbis bay holidays, as number 8 altantic watch does not come up online for online shops etc. Their response lacked effort and helpfulness and i really had to push for them to look into it. I would rather book direct with a holiday owner next time, who might care more.

Absolutely wonderful stay the property was as described on the website and was beautifully furnished making it feel really comfortable and homely. Fantastic location with wonderful sea views from the lounge and the main bedroom. We found no issues with the cleanliness of the property, although we did notice some debris on one of the cupboard shelves that may indicate only the external surfaces are routinely cleaned. Do make sure you read the notes from previous guests if you want to save time looking for the secret cutlery drawer! Small improvements could be to make the second bedroom more suitable for adults we were two friends on holiday so there was one adult in each room e.g. zip link beds so that the twin beds could be made into a double on request, a fullheight wardrobe and some coat hangers for adultsized clothes there was just one children's coat hanger provided, hooks on the back on the bathroom and bedroom doors would also have been useful.

The view was lovely and the hot tub was a nice touch however cleanliness and comfort was appalling. The fridge hadnt been cleaned with food debris inside kitchen cabinets. The kitchen doors had sticky food stains and hair inside the utensil draw. The bed pillows were of poor quality. I was very disappointed with having travelled a 6 hour journey to findi the apartment wasnt adequately cleaned. It is not acceptable particularly when we have paid such a premium price to stay!

The property was lovely the views stunning and the cleanliness amazing, we had such a relaxing week here would highly recommended to anyone. The owners have put so much thought and detail into everything you would need for your stay and they have got it spot on, upon arrival we found the owners had left us a pint of milk in fridge some coffee sachets, teabags and sugar, first thing I done was put the kettle on and then relaxed on the sofa admiring the view. The hot tub is a bonus to this property and is maintained 3 times a week. We would definitely return as its worth every penny.

Had a wonderful week at 8 Atlantic Watch located at Carbis Bay. The property was extremely clean and had everything you needed. The property is very spacious with 2 large bedrooms to the lower floor, with the master leading out to the hot tub which was a nice way to end the day. The views from the lounge are amazing, over looking the bay and over to St. Ives. This is a great location to visit various parts of Cornwall and we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Firstly the property is in a beautiful location just above Carbis Bay with amazing views. We know the area and most of the properties in the area very well as have been visiting Carbis Bay for for 20 years. We did have issues The first evening we put the dishwasher on to find it was leaking looked as if this was not the first time. Managed to stop the dishwasher straight away. There was blockage remover under the sink but we decided not to fiddle and contacted the company first thing on Monday. Spoke to Sykes at 10.43 on Monday to report the dishwasher, broken toilet seat in main bathroom and issues with general cleanliness They took details, put me through to property services told them the same thing and was informed someone would be out today to resolve. Nobody turned up all week to resolve there was someone in the property at all times so we did not miss them. I then left a note for the following guests. Cleanliness was not what I expected with a 5 rating. Issues Filthy handrail going downstairs cleaned myself and photographed the cloth afterwards as I could not believe how dirty it was Bedding hairs on main bedroom duvet looked like blood stains on one of the pillows and the bottom sheet looked grainy and not welcoming. Pillows had seen their day. Second bedroom bathroom cabinet full of hairs and sweet wrappers and sweets left on floor Window sills dirty cleaned a couple of them myself, dirty hand marks around both patio doors Mould on back of curtains in mainstream bedroom and dirty patio door sills in master bedroom and lounge Main bathroom toilet seat broken The main bathroom sink had been chipped for the owners Missing glasses and cups etc in kitchen A bulb needs changing above bed in master bedroom The photos on your site are not how the property is furnished so needs to be updated. We love visiting the area and did not let if spoil our stay, however when you are paying good money you expect this to be reflected in the standards of cleanliness and service.

We had a lovely stay, the apartment was absolutely beautiful, with the most amazing view of the sea and Carbis Bay. The owners of this little gem have got everything 100 spot on. We will certainly be back from what we would call a home from home. A fabulous week. And a massive thank you again to the owners with the little touches dotted around the house.

The property itself was just as last year, clean but I did notice it not as clean as last time. While cooking, I noticed the top of the extractor hood the glass bit was thick with grease which I did clean as much as I could but there were bits towards the back i couldn't reach. Also we noticed there were powder like spots all over the master bedroom and kitchen floor which we had to clean before we did anything once we arrived. We have booked again for next year

Lovely relaxing holiday. Great location and train 5 minute walk and 2 return to St Ives. Hot tub wonderful. Some of the fittings have been changed so pics could do with updating. Definitely would return .

Wow wow wow fabulous from start to finish. The standard of the apartment was very high spec, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect with sea views, only 2 minutes from the train station and a short walk to the beach. We will absolutely be looking to book again. If you want to escape and truly relax this is the perfect place to do it.

The property was absolutely brilliant, so modern and comfortable, incredible views. The only negative I would say is its described as child friendly so a stairgate option should be available. The stairs being so accessible in the hallway for a 1 year old wasnt ideal. We would 100 rebook this holiday home again though. Really was fantastic.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful holiday home! It was immaculately styled and such a tranquil space that really felt like home from home. The location and facilities were excellent. The only things that would have made it better for us and other guests coat hooks in the kitchen by the front door or first floor bathroom. a new can opener the one in the property doesnt seem to work unfortunately some wd40 on the bedroom sliding doors lock the key and locking mechanism were difficult to lock. recycling bin

Amazing stay, fantastic apartment with a great location. Lovely and spacious and immaculately decorated and presented. Some beautiful touches from the hosts the biscuits were gorgeous ha biscuits and treats here and there. Would highly recommend to everyone. 1 suggestion would be some lighting for the stairs leading to the front door, got very dark and was a little scary for my wife. The ones there werent working.

An amazing villa in a perfect location. Beautiful views and tastfully decorated. A couple of items need some tlc hottub lid needs replacing as no handles to lift and an additional chair in the lounge window would be excellent otherwise a perfect stay amd will return.

Our stay at Atlantic Watch 8 was fantastic. The property has the most spectacular view of Carbis Bay. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. The local bus and train is very efficient and means trips to St Ives are made very easy without taking cars. The local Carbis Bay restaurants are very good as well.

Lovely could not have had anywhere better for our honeymoon. So chilled and relaxing and the views are amazing. We have booked for our honeymoon next year

Lovely location. However, there was scheduled overnight roadrail maintenance work, directly outside the property, which was very disruptive for two nights. This started at 10 p.m. and was very noisy and meant we had two nights with very little sleep! Unfortunately we didnt receive any notification that this was going to happen and would have not booked our stay for this week if we had known.

Wonderful time, apartment very comfortable with exception of settee. Perfect location gorgeous views, 2 minute walk to train station avoiding driving to St ives.

A beautiful well equipped property. Stunning views especially from the hot tub. Could not wish for anything better. Train ride to St Ives a must, so quick and cheap.

Simply fabulous and a perfect location. We enjoyed exploring and not once had to use our car. Easy to walk to beach, catch a bus around the area or use the train. Even hired ebikes. Will definitely return!

Atlantic Watch is a lovely well equipped cottage fantatstic views and great sunken hot tub to enjoy. Great location too.

A beautiful place. Amazing views. Lovely property. Only 2 slightly negative points to mention. The sofa was not the comfiest and the issue with the sky box and the pin was a tad annoying. I understand why you dont want to share the pin but we couldnt watch any programs we wanted to see until after 9pm. There were a few films we wanted to see and also just some more age appropriate tv which we could not watch. We didnt have the kids with us so this was frustrating to say the least. We had a lazy day planned on Sunday and ended up going out. It wont stop us returning but I hope this can be rectified.

The property is first class very comfortable and spacious. The view is amazing could just sit and look at it all day but then I would miss what is on offer outside. The walk to st Ives on the coastal walk while a wee bit challenging in places is well worth the effort. Cornwall has so much to offer well worth the 500 mile drive from Scotland.

Wonderful accommodation, with the most amazing sea views and the perfect location, being a stones throw from the beautiful Carbis Bay beach. Felt like such a home from home, especially with all the thoughtful touches throughout the villa. The hot tub was a bonus, which we loved. I cant really rate the accommodation highly enough. We felt very sad to leave it and we will definitely be back. Thank you!
