A homely holiday property just 500 metres from Porthreath’s stunning beach, one of many that punctuate Cornwall’s rugged western coastline. Featuring a cosy lounge, games room and a landscaped garden, this dog-friendly property is well-suited to large families or groups keen to relax in comfort and enjoy easy access to the area’s coastal and rural communities.

Tucked away down a quiet residential road, the two-storey property has been finished to a high standard, its rooms painted in muted tones and covered with contemporary soft furnishings. Entering via the hallway, find your way into the cosy lounge, a place set up for afternoon naps as much as family film nights.

Elsewhere, the kitchen/diner is where foodies can create and consume guilt-free favourites to their heart’s content, working up an appetite in the nearby games room. The first floor is home to a family shower room and four stylish bedrooms: two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite; and two twin bedrooms, one of which can be converted into a super-king-size bedroom upon request.

A wonderful landscaped garden, complete with hot tub, patio, decked area and artificial lawn, is a fantastic setting for alfresco meals and dog-friendly games. The dogs can expect to find plenty of excuses for walks during a stay here, and it’s an easy 500-metre stroll to Portreath’s stunning beach and historic harbour, long a magnet for watersports and seafood lovers.

There’s direct access to the South West Coast Path from the village, a great way to see the coast from another angle. Other routes nearby take in reminders of the area’s mining past and a host of wooded areas.

For something farther afield, Godrevy Lighthouse, the village of Hayle and the vibrant seaside town of St Ives are all within 16 miles.

The Rock Gardens, Caves and Nursery - TQ5 9HG

The Rock Gardens Caves and Nursery have an amazing setting in the old Palace Quarry. The gardens offer an abundance of trees, plants and floral displays including a very grand 80ft Elm Tree and a stunning Weeping Ash. The site also offers a large carp pond, a breathtaking illuminated cave and a tea room serving tasty local produce.
Paradise Park - TR27 4HY

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

A fantastic attraction with something for everyone.  Combining rides, activities and exhibitions it's all here in the one place. Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.
Newquay Zoo - TR7 2NN

The award winning Newquay Zoo makes a fun family day out in North Cornwall.  With over 130 different species of animals to see and plenty of fun activities for the kids this attraction is ideal.  Recent additions to the zoo include the African Savanna and the Madagascan Walkthrough exhibit.  Kids will love the play area, face painting, tarzan trail and animal encounters.  Different events tale place throughout the year such as the Halloween Zoo Boo family fun event on 31st October.
Dairyland Farm World - TR8 5AA

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.
Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre - PL15 8EU

Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre offers a day full of action and adventure for all the family come rain or shine. If the weather is good then children can take advantage of the vast open space to run around and play, enjoy pony rides, train rides, trampolines and Go-Karts and explore the nature trails. If the weather is not on your side then the huge play barn is the place to head and as climbing frames, slides, ball pool and rope swings as well as a baby and toddler area.
