If you can tear yourselves away from the fantastic home, head into Hayle (3 miles) where you will find an abundance of shops and restaurants, as well as plenty to see and do. Spend a day at the wildlife park or soak up the sun on the sandy beach and have a go at water sports in the bay. Further afield, visit the seaside town of St Ives (6 miles) which has a choice of beaches, stunning views, and a great surf. Head to the south of Cornwall to Penzance (9. 7 miles) and visit St Michael’s Mount or swim in the Jubilee Lido. You will also be right on the South West Coast Path if you fancy taking a long stroll and admiring the views.

About Riviere House

Head to the south of Cornwall to Penzance (9.7 miles) and visit St Michael’s Mount or swim in the Jubilee Lido. You will also be right on the South West Coast Path if you fancy taking a long stroll and admiring the views.

Step inside this stone-built home and find several traditional features throughout. The hallway is plenty big enough for storing your walking or beach gear, before heading into the bright and colourful lounge.

Here you will find seating for everyone for cosy evenings in front of the TV and the warming wood burner. The spacious kitchen/diner has everything you need for cooking up and eating delicious meals together, there is also a separate dining room for more formal meals.

A handy utility room has laundry facilities. When you are ready for some sleep, the first of the bedrooms is situated on the ground floor, a king-size, while upstairs are the remaining bedrooms, a super-king, a king-size, a twin room and a twin zip-and-link, which can be made into super-king-size on request.

Two of the bedrooms have an en-suite, one en-suite shower room and one has an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath, while there is a separate family bathroom upstairs, and a separate family shower room on the ground floor. Each bedroom has its own TV.

Paradise Park - TR27 4HY

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.    
The Rock Gardens, Caves and Nursery - TQ5 9HG

The Rock Gardens Caves and Nursery have an amazing setting in the old Palace Quarry. The gardens offer an abundance of trees, plants and floral displays including a very grand 80ft Elm Tree and a stunning Weeping Ash. The site also offers a large carp pond, a breathtaking illuminated cave and a tea room serving tasty local produce.

A fantastic attraction with something for everyone.  Combining rides, activities and exhibitions it's all here in the one place. Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.

The award winning Newquay Zoo makes a fun family day out in North Cornwall.  With over 130 different species of animals to see and plenty of fun activities for the kids this attraction is ideal.  Recent additions to the zoo include the African Savanna and the Madagascan Walkthrough exhibit.  Kids will love the play area, face painting, tarzan trail and animal encounters.  Different events tale place throughout the year such as the Halloween Zoo Boo family fun event on 31st October.
Dairyland Farm World - TR8 5AA

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.

Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre offers a day full of action and adventure for all the family come rain or shine. If the weather is good then children can take advantage of the vast open space to run around and play, enjoy pony rides, train rides, trampolines and Go-Karts and explore the nature trails. If the weather is not on your side then the huge play barn is the place to head and as climbing frames, slides, ball pool and rope swings as well as a baby and toddler area.
